Bad directions lead to a Stranded Subaru..

Some bad directions sent this Subaru out a closed road where vehicles aren’t supposed to be. As soon as the driver realized his error, he turned around and tried to take the shortest path back out of the area, but a dirt mound ended up being a little more than his car could handle. So I took the giveaway Jeep out with a Yankum rope and was able to get him pulled out and back to the main road.
Be sure to check out our Patreon project where we use whatever it brings in in a month as our budget to help someone the following month! @@CaseyLaDelle I continue to ask myself ... where is the tipping point that residents in mass see what is happening and start to elect in proper leadership that will step up and actually address these many issues head on. The progressive beltways cannot be allowed to continually implement policy into the rural communities! The erosion of the open spaces that we all love and the impact to surrounding communities is ... in my case, infuriating! We all need to play by the same rules and when not, be made accountable.

Shame about that abandoned campsite mess out there, the stuff people leave or dump out on public and even private lands can be very disheartening sometimes. The father of an Icelandic friend of mine brought one of the first cars into Iceland (No.22), a Ford Model B that he travelled all over the Country on dirt roads such as this as well as across the uncharted lava fields/glaciers and across some of the rivers. This was his annual vacation treat so it can and has been done. The guy on this clip may have been inexperienced to get high sided or just caught out, such an experience will add to the knowledge.

@@clivewilliams3661 at that moment in time the ride was certainly more uncomfortable but the US didn’t have a lot of paved roads or hardly anything that wasn’t a dirt or gravel road like this those cars were built to be driven on roads like this even if they had problems most modern cars are absolutely not even remotely designed to drive on these roads
@clivewilliams3661
@clivewilliams3661 Год назад
@@Doubie. Who says? You only have to look at some of the ads produced by the manufacturers to sell motorcars shown on dirt roads and all sorts of areas where the only tracks are those made by the car advertised. I have no trouble taking modern cars down dirt roads like this, the only thing to watch out for is low riding plastic panels. There is a big trade in stolen cars that are driven down through France and Spain, across to North Africa and down to Senegal and the West African states through Morocco and Western Sahara, much of it along some of the Paris-Dakar route. You will see that the roads are no better than the ones shown, with a trip of 3000miles. Indeed, these types of road are commonplace in North Africa and Middle East and normal European cars are used everywhere.

Another great video and recovery! I think as crossover all wheel drive vehicles get a bit more "Off-Roady" people do get overconfident. They are surprisingly good. We had a Escape Hybrid 2wd and now a Rav4 Hybrid AWD. Went a lot of places but knew the limitations of the rigs. We use our 4Runner Trail (locker, 3" lift, 33" tires, winch, recovery gear) if we want to go farther off road. Of course, even that is no rock crawler...
@EricksonEtc
@EricksonEtc Год назад
I think like this one, most of the trouble these AWD cars get into is because of clearance, not 4WD. There are a lot of trails that don't require 4WD but do require clearance. Stock tires on a Subaru gives you about 1.5" of clearance... :)

I have a buddy who drives that exact vehicle (Subaru Outback) on some pretty tough trails in Colorado and it handles it fine. That was driver error, but it's whatever, it happens.

I had a 2003 legacy wagon with bigger struts and would not do that lol but I have been high centered on railroad Ties in a few off road trails but always had a buddy

That gentlemen was nice to have the hook in for you already but even before watching you or MoRR I knew those screw in pull points are the definition of point of failure. That Suby had a lot of 'pin-striping' from narrow trails so it seems like he was riding it pretty rough...and honestly, that Subaru should not have been out there. No Subaru should be on an off-road trail (unless you're thrashing it and have friends with you). ANY stock 4x4 looks like it would have been fine. If you want to go off-road, at least get an vehicle with some clearance and leave the car at home unless you own a rally car. LOL! Great work!

Absolutely love the CJ!!! I miss mine!! Wish I could have gotten in on the giveaway, but never could find the post to do it. Just talked about how the patreon community is going to vote on it; I do think that is very cool!! It’s a little too tall for this old gimp anyway 😜. Looking forward to seeing who gets it and what they do with it! Hopefully they have fun and do some videos with it 🙏♥️💪
