I'm imagining JWittz cramped in a little corner of his room, sitting on a tiny stool, his back resembling Quasimodo after hours of endless codes and searches for the infamous "-". The first rays of sun peeking through the corner of a tattered blind, a mouse scatters along the hardwood floor, disturbing the dust and creating a vortex that danced along the sun beams. The breaking of sanity disturbs the still, the Jirachi, had exploded.
And then a voice is heard, uttering "It's safe to come out now" to JWittz. JWittz looks to the voice's owner, only to see a bald man in a wheelchair. "Are you sure?" he asks the disabled man. "We need someone of your ability, dear JWittz," the man replies, "Come with me". As JWittz and the man leave the room, all the mice turn to look at their comrade leaving them forever.
How bout this... You observe the complex designs on the exhibit. An odd smell overwhelms your senses as if it was a Trojan horse invading a city. You feel your body weakening and numbing, and fall to the ground. You can't move your body, people around you are screaming for help. "Call an ambulance!" Everything starts fading to black. You wake up in a dark, stone hallway, with a single lit torch that gave no light, a hideous sound coming from the left side of the hall.
Julie Winchester When I first played Pokémon Moon the part where I was supposed to get out of bed I could not move. The music still played so it must have been a soft lock. I started over but the same thing happened. I was on my old 3ds so I used my brothers 3ds XL and it worked. After a while I tried playing on my old 3ds and the game ran like normal. Odd...
A softlock can also refer to when you trap yourself so you can move freely in a certain area, but have no way to progress without cheating, like building nonremovable things around you so you can't move, or using shenanigans to delete an essential item.
The black and white question mark thing actually has a Pokédex entry in the German version that says something like "This Pokémon was discovered not so long ago and is still explored."
That actually makes me curious if there are any other Dex entries for glitch Pokémon in different languages, And it also makes me wonder why out of all the languages it could have an entry in, it's german!
My friend in his Heart Gold has a hacked water-type Charmander that can't be removed from his inventory, has the ability arena trap, and only has one move, which is extreme speed, with 12 pp. it crashes your game when you use it in battle, and it came about when he failed to change hexadecimals when hacking. Don't hack, kids.
RushStudios101 I remember in pokemon black for some unknown reason when i went back to play it, my ninetales for some reason had freaking fusion flare.... WHAT THE HELL?!
A friend's sister kind of got her pokemon emerald cartridge ran over by a car (yes... it happened) and when she tried to continue playing the game since the cartridge had not been damaged too badly, her whole team had been turned into bad eggs. Apparently, she hadn't even used cheats in the game so far. Trippy shit.
Back in the day, my best friend and I traded a ton of Pokemon during Generation 3. He had given me a Jirachi (why ask questions, right?) and said that this bad egg showed up in his pc. Now I know your secret, Richard! Hahaha XD
+Hokaru11792 There is a way to get Jirachi legitimately in Gen 3 for Ruby and Sapphire, however. If you're lucky enough to find a copy, there's an gamecube extra disk for the Pokemon Colosseum game that allows people to get one Jirachi per game copy. As far as I can tell, you can use the disk as many times as you want, and if you have what they called a "minor issue with the Berry Program" it can update the game and fix it when you obtain Jirachi. :-D
7:30 This state is called a Softlock. You cannot make any controller input, but the universal and local clocks still tick. The universal and local clocks are in charge of animations and music, so those still play.
I had a bad egg on Ruby because I used a Gameshark to try and get Deoxys. There was no legit way to get it at the time, least not one I can remember. Once it hatched, It not only froze my game but it ended up killing my Ruby game file! RIP Blaziken, Shiny Mightyena, Salamence, Milotic, Pokemon Coliseum Jirachi, and Ninetales.
+xPurpleRain01 Funnily enough, just looking for a completely different Pokemon in the grassD a shiny Poochyena appeared in the grass and I caught it! I named him Hige after a character in Wolf's Rain.
Angel Gonterman believe it or not there is a way to find a shiny without cheating though without hacking it's hard still but it works I I caught my shiney slugma that way and saw a shiney crawdant before as an example. If you know how emeralds tile system works. I never hacked my emerald or looked at it's coding by the way. I just walked in the grass and counted steps on each Pokemon I encountered and figured out you can chain Pokemon that way to increase the chance of finding a shiney. Battle frontier helped me figure out I was right where I saw the crawdant. I was chaining wingul then pouchyena's before hand then I went to battle frontier and right away I found a it a trainer had it sadly not only that the trainer had only water and dark type Pokemon and so did the next person. So I then tried to get a spinda well chaining slugmas and found the shiney slugma. I want to show how the steps each Pokemon is different number of steps in different grasses and some you can't do it in. The water is tricker to but works somewhat the same as do caves.
In 4th gen if you go into the tall grass without having selected a starter you'll get a white rectangle that has the cry of a Bulbasaur, is male, has 0/0 hp, and "has no moves left" when the battle starts. It's name is -------. In 5th gen if you walk through the trees you'll notice the NPC sprites will keep walking until they disappear off screen. Cheating is fun. ^u^
I've only encountered one glitch pokemon. Me and my brother used to use a hacking device on gen 4. One of the main cheats we used was one that let you type in the wed number of a pokemon and find it in the grass. So, out of curiousity, he typed in zero. at he found looked like just a shadow with no sprite. He caught it with one of his 999 master balls and chose to nickname it. The little icon for it was a question mark and he nicknamed it UM......... (so original) It pretty much xompletely broke his game. It automatically went to the front of his party and if he tried to go into battle, the game crashed. If he tried to look at it's stats, the game crashed. If he tried to put it in his pc, the game crashed, and if he tried to trade any pokemon, the game chrashed. He ended up having to completely restart his game.
Years ago I used the catch a trainer's pokemon cheat on pokemon platinum and caught cynthia's garchomp, the garchomp was perfectly normal except it's nickname was changed to 'bad egg' which is kind of strange
Kill Quake Gaming And More Ok, how the heck does it's level change anything? It's possible to have a level 1 Mew or Arceus if you had a cheating device as simple as an Action Replay. And you can change what Pokémon appear in the wild in a certain area, with them keeping the levels of the ones normally found there. My point was the game must have put the wrong name, because Jirachi is a Steel type, as in takes not very effective damage from Normal moves like, y'know Tackle. I like how you try to sound so smart by saying "watch the video" and I'm not allowed to respond with I did, and the fact that you COMPLETELY missed what I was trying to say, and clearly know very little about cheating. Next time, make sure you look everything over.
When Ruby and Sapphire first came out, I encountered a glitch twice in sapphire . I was at the Berry Master's field and I planted twelve berries ( I don't remember which ones I planted) all of the sudden, a glitter effect occurred on the soil and the berries grew instantaneously to the second to last stage where they could be harvested. Has any one else encountered this glitch too?
IDK. If you have one, send it to me so I can figure it out. Actually, I still need Nintendo to give me a patch so Mesprit will respawn, so dont. I dont need my game any more messed up than it already is.
Anthony Abreu ye but i can still make the argument that it's titled incorrectly. a glitch is something like the thing in Jubilife city in gen 4, where you can mess with the chunks. but you dont need to cheat to do it
+Islarf He discussed both the Bad Eggs/cheating device pokemon AND an actual glitch and the glitchy pokemon it creates, so his title still works, I think! Though maybe it could've been slightly reworded... something clarifying the hexidecimal pokemon not being the "glitch" pokemon he was going to discuss, maybe,, not a big deal though
I've gotten a bad EGG before and at first I thought you could hatch it so I actually kept it in my party and ran around with it for a while trying to hatch it. How dumb was that.
"You can't have a bad egg or ?????????? without a cheating device" Boy don't look at my PC x) the Pomeg glitch is way more powerful than one might think
I made a small hack of Firered which essentially is going straight to the casino once you walk through the door of your house. The only issue is, unless you grab the coin case from the guy in the restaurant and win a pokemon (Abra is particularly easy if you get a good hit or two at the slots), you send out Ten Question Marks ("Target") when you confront the Team Rocket guy with the poster and lose because Struggle is an instantaneous kill to it.
@@dadaddy4296 Yeah, I know someone who found a bad egg after testing out cheat codes. They think it appeared after activating a code to buy rare candies at the pokemart. They didn't actually buy any though, after seeing the price.....
Through the pomeg glitch you can actually perform something similar to the celebi egg in 2nd gen. Wrester I believe was messing with this for a little while on his streams after the discovery and hatched a deoxys
I remember I was playing fire red while trying to catch moltres; my game boy was within minutes of dying and I was in my moms car. After throwing a ball I caught moltres, immediately hit save, and the game boy died. I plugged in the car charger in less than 3 seconds and booted the game back up shortly nervously wondering what would happen since I had never had my battery run out during the caution message. After booting up, moltres was no longer available in my game, I didnt have it caught, my master ball was gone, and I had a bag egg in my box. Pretty sure moltres became the egg. I never hacked the game and still have it, and have never had any problems with the game having it in my PC, just some food for thought.
***** sorry about the long reply mate. unity is driving me up the freaking wall!. if you are getting into programming and planning on doing 3d i would highly suggest unreal. it's relatively easy to use if you know what you're doing :)
i bought a preowned pokemon pearl back when it first came out i already had diamon newly bought but i wanted to see if pearl was different.. when i started the persons save file i was outside the daycare and my party was full of shiny pokemon.. i went to the pc and every pokemon what ever number it was back then was in that pc and all were shiny and there were bad eggs xD i ended up trading the pokemon to my diamond game and deleting that guys save file
i had all the legendaries but it was all hacked so i couldnt trade or use them in battle i sold it on ebay and just bought pokemon soulsilver pokewalker bundle.
Everyone had it good! When I got a used SoulSilver! It only froze on Oaks screen! I got a different copy! Anyway trust Gamestop! I got a brand new mint Tomodachi Life for $30!
I remember trying to use a level up faster cheat, it worked for the most part but after I loaded up my save file my level 73 Jolteon was replaced with a bad egg. I will never forget the pain...
My first encounter with the bad egg was when I had the 'catch opponent's pokémon' hack on and I caught Barry's Snorlax in Pokémon diamond. When I caught it, it said '' Would you like to give a nickname to the bad egg?'' as far as I can say, young me was scared shitless.
Why magenta...? I only ask because that happens to be the color that takes over the screen when you remove a game cartridge from a DS lite while using pictochat. I often wonder why some of the more bizarre glitches you'll find even exist... I think about things like this often because I have a tendency to crash software. Like, all of it. Maybe I should look into beta testing as a job... I'd probably be good at it. (Accidentally froze Chrome the only time I played slither.io... head-on collisions don't end well in that game.)
Well magenta and other bright colors are generally used a lot as a industrial norms to tell players that the textures are wrong or that something is wrong with the game, or that an error occurred
I remember when this video just came out, Watched it 5 times in a row and I felt happy and careless, Without a real worry in the world. 10 years later, I got a girlfriend, A life and going to college, which I thought never would happen.
Actually it is possible to encounter bad egg without a cheating device. When i was around 8 like four years ago i was playing a new save file on pokemon sapphire. I pick a treeko as my starter but when i went into the first battle it was a bad egg. Now, me not knowing what it was i thought my game was broken. I went to my pokemon and checked the summary because i couldnt attack... then my game crashed... that was the first time. It happened again a few days later and crashed my game as soon as checked my pokemon to see if they were healed up(i do this every time i load a game) luckily it hasnt happened since
+Akaketsugami it could be real as a possibility of a previous save not deleting (especially if it was a save where cheating was used, maybe bought a used cart) completely and it ends up corrupting the new game, extremely rare but not unheard of
I once, in pokemon diamond, found an egg somewhere, I don't remember now where, but it was a normal egg, it was called egg, it looked like an egg... but it never hatched. I mean, never. I had it in my party for 2 months and i was battling, running around, and it STILL didnt hatch. what?
I have to say Bad egg scared the crap out of me because I lost a party slot because I had a bad egg that had mail attached and I never cheated on my copy of sapphire.
You know what'd be a REAL bad egg? If JWittz and Elesa from Gen 5 had children. To be fair though, both of them have Pokemon experience and JWittz has completed Pokemon Silver in a cameo with The Completionist. It's just the bad puns that worry me.
I have obtained a Bag Egg in generation 3 every single time I select the "Pokemon Shiny" cheat, and than attempt to get the Castform from the Weather institute. The cool thing about doing this is that the egg actually has Pokerus, and that Pokerus can be spread to any Pokemon like normal. I always use this method to train my gen 3 Poke's easier for transfers to newer generations
When I stole Lance's Charizard, it said "Give a nickname to the caught Bad EGG?" When I went and checked it, it was perfectly fine, and I was even able to get it through Pokebank.
I was playing emerald, i was saving the game and try to close it for a few minutes. I came back into the game i saw my altaria replaced with a "Bad EGG" i was very sad because i cant use fly anymore. I was wondering if this happened to anyone else
In gen 4 when you are escorting the girl who leads you to shaymin, if you cheat to walk on water while doing so. Missing no appeared for me. Also you get the question mark if you go into battle without Pokemon
I have to tell you a story of mine. I encountered the Bad Egg at complete random in Pokemon Heart Gold back in 2011. It was an egg with a poison status ailment that replaced the Ampharos in my party. I selected it, the screen went black, and the game froze. Has this happened to anyone else?
I got a Bad Egg when I got back my Kirlia from the Day Care in Emerald. All my Pokemon got changed into one. And since then I never went near that day care ever since.
Matthew Breach Well, there have been many recorded sightings of the bad egg in Emerald. I'm asking if anyone just got it completely out of nowhere in HG/SS.
Using Pokémon data Editors for ROM hacking, you can give the empty slots actually thought out stats and names. You can not however change the sprites. Using repointing you can give them a wider move pool.
I honestly think the pomeg glitch has been explored a lot more and are very interesting since you can get the eon ticket from it (but it will turn your first two boxes into bad eggs)
Awesomepossum2011 Well all the Pokemon will become bad eggs, and you can’t get rid of the bad egg. The file is pretty much dead so you might as well delete it.
For BEAN, what happens when it appears is called a softlock, where the game is still functioning, but due to some technical glitch, cannot still be progressed forward through without a reset. A freeze/crash is where the game is completely locked up and isn't working at all.
never once did I cheat in my Pokemon emerald but my cartridge was cracked I was in a major battle in the battle frontier when my Sceptile and all my other Pokemon turned into bad eggs the game then proceeded to glitch, freeze, and crash and deleted all my save data. WHY?! I DIDN'T CHEAT!
Bad egg isn't glitch it's in x and y and oras. X and Y was IMMEDIETALY fixed glitches when they found the corropuption glitch..... Not dem glitch its in every gen 3+
just realized 4 years after first hearing about it that bad egg is named after the term bad egg and its the game calling you a bad egg for cheating using a egg so the games own anti cheating measure is a pun amazing also 3:07 29 ? on screen including the pokemon itself calls it target 4:30 7 ? on screen calls it question marks
I 've got a bad egg after trying to use a cheat to bring Mew to the game That was the first time I've ever played pokemon so I had no idea what It meant but I always enjoy mysterious glitches. I've also got Target. Again while trying yo get Mew. Now that I think of It Mew only glitched my game xD But these never actually harmed my game too much exept for one or 2 crashes..
My bad egg glitch happened completely by accident. I had a Wingull and a shiny Pelipper in my PC (note: I did save after getting the shiny Pelipper), and I decided to go back and forth between them. Soon after I wasn't able to go back and forth between them, and tried to figure out why when I then noticed where the Pokemon's Icon was I saw an egg. I looked at the name and saw Bad Egg where the name of the Pokemon was. The game wasn't hacked what so ever, but I had managed to get the Bad Egg glitch. (This all happened in my Sapphire version) I was playing it when I was riding in the car, and after I got the glitch I had to show my bro and tell him to take a picture of it. It was really funny on how that happened, but I never did that ever again do to fear of losing hard work and progress without saving first. To this day I have never had that happen again.
