Explaining the game takes longer than explaining the ending, but hey, that is better than putting the video qith just the ending and no one knowing why is it that bad.
This is THE game of my childhood. So many good memories, and bad memories as well, are inside this game... no, it's not a game, it's an adventure. I will hate on Ubisoft forever if they won't make a sequel and if i ever become really famous, i will shit on them like no one ever did before.

@Leo Jansen well, it has been 5 years since my comment and a lot has changed. BG&E2 is alive, maybe it's not the sequel we all wanted, but it's alive and it's coming. To be honest, making a prequel is a genius move, one that i believe Ancel eventually agreed on. A prequel is a game you need no knowledge of its successor to enjoy. If it is successful, and i'm sure it will be, people will want more. Maybe they'll even remaster the first game, and the sequel will be in the works.
To me Beyond Good and Evil was especialy special, because back then you rarely had female lead characters. And Jade is feminine, but not stereotype. She is tough but not tomboyish. She feels very real to me. She feels human and relatable. And that is something I always thought was very special. The game is a masterpiece and is very inspiring.

I have good news for you! Beyond Good & Evil 2 is in process of creating! The bad news is that it won't be the sequel of the first game, it will be the prequel

we had it on PC, all I remember is that I haven't touched the game since I was really young, I'm not sure on an exact age and I have never beaten the game, for reference right now I'm 19 also this is a 4 year old comment lmao and you're throwing shit as if I said this yesterday
@@rayan2683 it's in the most recent trailer from e3 2018 i believe, but the game won't be out anytime soon it looks like and with the development has been reported to be in a pretty bad condition so the game if it goes out someday next or in 2 years might be bad and not follow the quality of the first one.
You know... the DomZ "Fungi" appears on the hand, Jade healed him on. So maybe she did not only heal him, but spread her DNA. She's the pure power of the DomZ Emperor, so why wouldn't she be able to "lay eggs". There's enough hints that she is one of them throughout the whole game btw.
Damn. What a great video. What a masterpiece of an game in ALL aspects. After the end (at the first time finishing the game) my heart skipped some beats. My jaw smashed onto the floor and I dropped my XBOX controller. what The HEEEEELLLL! I. WANT. MOOOOOORE! This can`t be "THE END!?!?" I mean.... COME ON! We`re in the year 2016! This game is a perfect masterwork. It is ART AT ITS FINEST! The game, gameplay, characters, the most breathtaking and heartwarming soundtrack, the enviroment, and overall Jade herself. Jade is one though BADASS HEROIN. She has such a strong personality is completly fearless even when she has to fight huge monsters ten times taller than her. The lighthouse scene still makes me cry. ME! An 30 yearo old man. I know this game nearly half my life and it`s still crushing me soul every goddamn time. It`s just unacceptable and SO wrong if Ubisoft seriously won`t make an sequel. Let me here copy paste what I did wrote to The System Dissector. Several hundrets, if not, thousands of fans are out there worldwide. (see @bgemyth on twitter) The biggest problem about BGE2 is, who would`ve guessed it, Ubisoft itself and the fact that the developer team is smaller than befor. Ubisoft made and realesed a lot of great and less great games. They`re only interested in making shiploads of money with mainstream games, no matter if those games are good or bad. Take Assassins Creed for an example. So many sequels (which I`ve all played) and it, for my taste, didn`t really get any better. Or the Rayman series. Money can`t be an important argument to decide over making games. BGE is in my eyes a real one-hit-wonder which diserved its place on the olymp, though it is one of the most unknown and underrated, which REALLY hurts me. And that is also one of the big "problems" about BGE(2). Ubisoft didn`t sell many copys so didn`t make a lot of money with it. "Why going further an one way dead end"? Michael Ancel sayed he doesn`t want to make the same game twice!? But what about the HD version? I`m SO SUPER thankful for the re-release. It made BGE become a complete new dimension of an expirience. Micheal and the whole team behind BGE made a game that still is beyond good. I can only speak for myself by saying that BGE is near to be perfect in any aspect. Ok, it`s an old game and you can`t directly compare it to the games today but that doesn`t mean that it`s bad. Why giving everything to make fans and gamers very happy and let them once more experience the journey of a Jade. Sometimes I moved around in Hyllis just to watch view and fly around in the Beluga while enjoying the magnificent music. BGE has everything what a great and memorable game needs. A breathtaking and wide world, a mindblowing story, a style I`ve never seen befor and after, a perfect gameplay, the most heartwarming soundtrack, moments where your heart skippes some beats, action, tons of emotions, unique and lovely characters, heartmelting moments, but overall Jade. The scene where the tower was destroyed and Jade lost all her hope was one of the most emotional, influencel and saddest moments in my life. Everything seems to be lost and over but our badass hero Jade pulls herself toghether, stands up, AND DOES SOMETHING. She doesn`t just get depressed. She keeps brave, fearless and continues. Till today this particular moment in BGE puts a hugh lump in my throut and makes me cry and smile at the same time. Since 13 years. Almost half my life. Ubisoft should also get their shit toghether AND DO SOMETHING EFFECTIF! Sometimes I want to SLAM BOTH FISTS ON THE TABLE AND GO TOTAL AAAAPESHIIIIT, flip the table and trash everything in sight! But I take a deeeeep breath, calm down and listen the BGE-OST. It`s just pointless to waste your time on beeing angry. Micheal left us behind with an GIGANTIC cliffhanger and then "THE END".... WHAT THE HELL!? I WANT MORE! And then way later two teasers which made me jump up and down yelling "wooooOOOOOOOO! SEQUEL, SEQUEL, SEEEEEQUEEEEL!!!" But NOOOOOOO! Only some few unvalidated/controversel informations. I always try to not get too exited whenever I see some good news. Also Micheal teased everyone by showing a poster of a Jade concept. THAT IS NOT FUNNY MICHEAL! NOT FUNNY! Either Ubisoft and Ancel stop and cancel the production (which is an ABSOLUT UNACCEPTABLE option) or they continue coding. What the most important part is, is TO GIVE US CLEAR INFORMATIONS so we don`t float in the air and KNOW what`s going on!!! Ugh.... I SO wish, hope, beg, pray that Jade will once more make us gamers and fans expirience a breathtaking new world that is better than ours. I could go on for months talking about my most beloved game but I should keep it short. Beyond Good & Evil diserves a 14/10 rating and a truckload of awards. Best graphics (at the time) BEST soundtrack ever BEST inviroment Best storyline Best main character Damn, I really wish BGE2 will become real. I can`t wait any longer and I can`t stop crying and make an end here. I could write a book about BGE and how much I love it. But we, the gamers and fans of Beyond Good & Evil, have to hold together and keep up the spirit. There HAS TO BE A SEQUEL Ubisoft. And may all the wrath of hell hail down on you if BGE2 will really get canceled. How could you dare to cancel working on BGE2. If so, Satan should ram pinapples soaked in burning napalm up your poopers for rest of eternity. GIVE US BGE2 AND MAKE IT PERFECT AS BGE!
Well said. BGE has been such a big part of my life, it would be amazing if the sequel actually came out. On the wikipedia of BGE2 it says: ''On 29 January 2016, Ancel said he was still working on the game'' so i have hope! haha. x
I just finished the game. It was great! But man, if you like this game, then you MUST play Zelda The wind waker - its from the same time period (2003 i believe) and has all the elements that make BG&E great, even more. And about a sequel of BG&E - I hope we gamers see it some day. This story needs a resolution xD
And here we are, enlightened by a bright beacon of hope - Beyond Good and Evil 2 announced at E3 2017. The sequel shall come, we shall know the answers! We awe, we dance, we cherish... all but for a moment, until we hear the lead director say "It will take place in the time before Jade's birth"... OH MY FUCKING GOD, WHAT?! 15 bloody years of waiting, occassionaly daydreaming about a continuation to that hidden jewel of a game, and for nothing? For a prequel? Dickmove, Ubisoft... dickmove. I still have my hopes up, though. I hope that this will be a direct prequel, that'll actually explain why is Jade special (Shauni stuff), explain her parent's story and their ties with IRIS, and shed some light on how did all that DomZ invasion go (as we begin BGaE basically after the invasion's finished) etc. etc. If they're going to take that approach, then I'm game, but if it's gonna be just a game in the same universum, but basically untied to the original, then I'm off.
I'm currently playing the game again. I really missed it. There are some things you can miss. You don't even have to get every pearl to complete the game. But, it's probably one of my favorite ones!
I tried a lot to make a sequel :) I would love a sequel, this was the first game I have been working on... What an amazing adventure to learn game programming by doing this game
Well about replay you are wrong, i think i've played this game 5 times atleast full on from start to end. Just because characters are so memorable and it is truely magnificent story. I just hope they come up with sequel because that ending.... for people who have played this game it is as haunting as halff life 2 episode 2 ending, just hope ubisoft can come out with it earlier than valve will come out with something new and refreshing..... khm khm khm HALF LIFE 3
That evil Jade...well, he (the last boss) kinda explains who Jade was "before". And as BGE2 is a prequel...we might get to see Pey'j and her "parents" save her i BGE2. And, watching the live stream last Wednesday I got the feeling they are leaving some "routes" open, for more games. So maybe a third, that explains the cliffhanger.
I played this when I was pretty young and I always remember waiting for the second game. When the 2008 trailer was released I got really excited but... No game ._. I hope they will release it (doubt they will) or at least remaster this game to give it some more recognition.
why all the producing houses now point only the money?? They don't care anymore on the quality of the games, now they care only on the earning...We lost the sequel of a lot of great games of our childood, very sad thing, very sad. Ismael Espinola It'll get the Bayonetta 2 treatment. Nintendo will fund this project to make it an exclusive. Also, Ubisoft is in love with the Switch. They can finally work properly for Nintendo hardware. It's unheard of. Also, it will expand on the ending and explain Pey'j's backstory. It's sort of a prequel/sequel-reboot. If all goes well Nintendo might be interested in sequels.
