This is what a bad EPG looks like on a Volvo vnl truck. You can access this area from removing the flex pipe behind turbo area and shinning a flash light into the exhaust port. This valve breaks off and is stuck rattling around and not fully working.
This can also get stuck shut and not allow the truck to have power
