Arguing for general reparations is like arguing for theft. I'm sorry these things happened, but the rest of the people who had nothing to do with these atrocities should not pay a cent. If you can't hold the perpetrators accountable, the blame should not pass to the children or kin. Each person is solely responsible for their actions alone, not that of their parents, ancestors, cultural group, religion, race, sex or geographic location. If you want to argue spending more tax dollars on uplifting the poor, I'm listening...because that's a neutral position to take. But the concept of reparations is fundamentally flawed, and selfish to boot. Where does it end? Every single group (race,culture,religion etc.) has committed atrocities at some point in history, so there is no such thing as a fair outcome. And if you don't respect the concept of a fair outcome...I no longer care about you or your issues. If you want to climb out of the hole you're in, I'll extend my arm... However if you want to climb out while pointing fingers at innocents, then enjoy sitting in that hole buddy...
