Yes, but sadly, this is just one of those terrible freak accidents. I don't think the trampoline park can be blamed. It's just a fact that we take a risk with our life by simple walking out the front door every morning. Or, even getting out of bed, to be honest. You could he in a car accident, your house could be on fire and kill you, you could choke on a pretzel or slip on a bar of soap in the shower and smash your head on the faucet. NO ONE is immune from these possibilities. I really do pray for this young man and hope that he can get to whatever the maximum recovery possible may be.
This is so true, I met a man in his early 30’s a couple of weeks ago, he was in a wheelchair and had been paralysed for ten years. He tripped over his food shopping on the doorstep. How mad is that? Something so ordinary. I hope the young guy in this video is well and living a good life ..
Blake is courageous and he is going through something you cant imagine unless you have been in his shoes, my prayers are with this young man, he can make a huge impact in this world if sets his mind to it.
Damn!! Makes me want to get rid of our trampoline. I have two young daughters who are learning how to flip and tragedies like this scare the sh!t outta me.. poor guy. Doesn't deserve this. Good attitude
I lived in Hawaii for 19 years and was a bit of a waterman.....had one real close call when a big wave caught me and brought me with it while i was facing it and went backwards with it.....it bent my back i think as close as you could take it before snapping it....i am blessed....i was body surfing and being way too casual that day......
I know a girl, now woman in our town who was jumping on one with her brother and he fell on her. She walked into the house went to bed and couldn't walk in the morning.

There's enough danger in life in general, that it's really not a good idea to increase the odds of permanently injuring yourself jumping on trampolines or doing parkour. Get your adrenaline rush by doing something productive. Imagine how you'd feel after becoming paralyzed, and all your life's dreams are GONE, not to mention that you will have the hardest life imaginable ahead of you. Getting paralyzed at a young age means you've got a LONG time to live with that disability. When you get much older, and your parents are gone, who will take care of you? Your quality of life is going to be TERRIBLE, and most likely only get worse as you age. DON'T RISK IT!! IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!
i am a little confused from a physical standpoint wrestlers judo players fighers fall on their face hard for a living howcome they never become paralyzed thats why ive always been scared to join the sport but none of them ever do ? can you please answer this if anyone knows thanks aalot
all your dreams are gone? And your life is terrible? You're totally wrong buddy things happen and you can't control them. I broke my neck and I am paralyzed but I have a wife and kids and I own my own company live by the beach. I consider myself to have a perfect life and this is all after I got paralyzed I achieve this. you don't know we you're talking about
I remember jumping on a trampoline at a party in college at about 4am...the thing was wet because of the morning dew. After about 10 seconds on the thing and despite having had a lot to drink I knew to get off the thing.
we have a place called the factory here it's the same thing and I refuse to let my kids go... you have to sign a paper saying it's ok for their employees to be negligent and you can't sue if something happens ...
What's dumb is that US government not banning trampoline. People die and get paralyzed from this. And this fact alone should've been enough to make them ban this.

I hope that this young man is able to regain some function back. At least full movement of his arms, so he can be a little independent. He is too young for this to have happened to. He has a long life ahead of him.
Spinal cord injuries happen all the time they just don't make the news. Would be nice if they spent more money on spinal cord injuries. I got hurt in 1973 have been in a chair ever since as a paraplegic. Just something you have to adapted to and know that the chair is your legs. Good luck blank on your future will be praying for you..
My daughter loves going to these trampoline gyms keeps asking us to get her one, maybe after watching this she may take more care in the way she jumps and not to try any move or jump she doesn't know how to do.
And understand that you still have to land on the balls of your feet and bed your knees, plus a double jump (when someone else jumps on it first) can be even harder than concrete because it’s moving up into your feet especially if the person is heavier than you
Tough, doesn’t describe it. Paralized from the neck down is heartbreaking, but he says he’s ready for hard work and has a great attitude he might walk again who knows?
Are there different types of paralysis? Brooke Ellison, for example, I've NEVER seen her move. She is literally paralyzed from the neck down. Almost everyone else "paralyzed from "the neck" down I see them move their necks, even sometimes other parts.
JamaicanRain Yes, there are different types of paralysis. The higher on the spine the injury, the less they are able to move. Brooke Ellison broke the second vertebrae in the neck so she is unable to breathe on her own. People who break the 4th vertebrae can't move but can still breathe. Further down on the spine, they can move their upper body but not the legs. It all depends on how high the injury was.
There's lots of ways to be paralyzed. I had nerve injury's in my legs from rhabdomyolysis induced compartment syndrome. I was paralyzed, couldn't support my own weight and couldn't walk for about a year but had no spinal cord injury.
it's not to do with the vertebrae it's to do with the spinal cord inside the vertebrae, you can break your back and still heal up fine afterwards but if you damage the spinal cord depending on the level it has different consequences. i have L1 incomplete spinal damage i can still walk etc but i have internal paralysis affecting urination and bowels have a look on a spinal injury website there is lots of info there
I've just broken my femur bone on a trampoline had to have surgery and that's just by jumping normally wasn't doing any flips or tricks trampolines are dangerous !!! I'd never jump on one ever again

I think trampolines should be banned. My cousin at age eight broke her leg in two places. Luckily she didn't have any long term damage like this young man. He has a positive attitude which is great.
Oh man kid. I’m so sorry for you bro. I just want you to know that I thought that my life was bad because I had bad eye sight and can never fly in the Navy or to become a mechanic for the airlines. Hearing this I will stop my bitching and. complaining. I hope you get well soon brother. Hope that medicine today can get you back walking again. So sorry this happened to you. Keep your head High. Don’t loose hope.
One friend of mine Broke his leg on 3 spots with the bone sticking out on 2 spots. In the Hospital, they only noticed 2 injuries, not the third. Bad luck + 1
Fun fact, having a trampoline in the backyard is the same danger as having a loaded gun on a table in the house, and the trampoline would more likely hurt or kill someone

Yeah, well that’s why they don’t like when you do flips at those trampoline places. Especially a fucking triple backflip my God. May you have a nice recovery though. Don’t be so dense next time.
Here is the cheat code. If i can literally just sit around basking in my own happiness and love and self-satisfaction then that short-circuits all of life. That's the genius of this method. That's its power. You think this is a bug. This is not a bug. This is a feature. This is exactly what you want. You want to short circuit that because you see then it frees you up.
In junior high the one Chinese boy, who spoke no English, was taking his turn doing some jumps on a trampoline in gym class. The others surrounded the trampoline supposedly as 'spotters'. The rubber membrane is tricky and moves to an offbeat cadence defying predictability and balance. Safety becomes impossible and his leg broke into a compound fracture at the shin. The two big bullies played at being heroes as they locked wrists to make a bosin's chair and carried him away. MF trampolines should be banned everywhere like Lawn Darts were. Remember Lawn Darts? Sticking out of babies heads and all. Some things should never have been invented.
oh no. i hope he is okay now. But why is he suing the company? "The plaintiff claims he was injured because of the “allegedly deficient safety rules contained in the Employee Handbook.” The handbook does not clearly define what a somersault is. The plaintiff was injured when he did a flip." "
You always take a chance either with doing flips in a gym or tramboline. One wrong landing and that's it.!! It scares me when I watch all those upside flips, its hard to control when your in the sir upsidedown. They should have massive warning signs. So sad!!
it will require at least another 100 years to solve it. a complete restoration will not be possible as medicine is unable to understand how brain works.
we have got to be careful if you go ice skating it is like standing in line because of safety standard they only let you skate forward no edging nothing I do not skate anymore for these reasons but I guess I am safe this is bull shit
So he wanted to do a triple flip, he's a boy for Pete sake, these teens all like to show off a bit just like at the swimming pool.all teens love to run around, jump do stunts. He didn't expect anything as horrible as this would happen!! Its a real tradegy, it could of happened to anyone. Its Sad I hope he finds the strength to live like this.
what a life. bowel managements, dipers, home health care, pressure wounds, ramps for your house, medical bills, depression, surgeries, dependant, no sex, fuck doing flips on trampolines!
