Boeing drops production when the FAA are present which means that the behaviour of the workers is not under their ‘normal’ pressure. The Hawthorn effect is also operating.
@@anthonywatts2033that’s only part of it. They couldn’t make it work on the support side of it all. They simply didn’t have that ability. So no, Bombardier couldn’t make it work.
@@Dan.d649 you are probably biased. There is a reason why the A220 is so popular compared to the E2. Airlines don’t buy the A220 because it’s not as good as the E2. 🙄
Actually I think it is great news that Boeing is delivering fewer 737s. I'd be even more concerned if the deliveries remained constant because that would mean that for Boeing it is business as usual. Looks like they are beginning to address the QA issues in their production line. I would expect such measures to decrease output.
We all new about Boeing's problems. Getting tired of DJ's Airbus propaganda. When will he show us some real news? The aviation world is not just Boeing or Airbus. It's surely news for dj.
Air Canada has 27 A320 registered. (didn't check 319). 10 are from its original order delivered 1991-1993, the rest were built between 2002 and 2008 and imported various years. AAt least 1 of the older 320s are ex Canadian Airlines. In 2003-2004, Air Canada went through CCAA (Chapter 11) and except for its DC-9s all of the rest of its fleet was owned by lessors. DC09s and the ex CP 737-200s were disposed of). When Air Canada originally ordered the 737, it was to be 61 units which were to replace the 320s except for a handful for its Rouge flanker brand. After the grounding of the 737 and pandemic, Air Canada reduced the 737 order to only 40 and cut its order for 220s as well, and this may explain why iit still has such a large number of "ceo" A320s in its fleet and still gets lessors to swap the oldest ones with less old ones. (2002 manufacture is still a 22 year old plane). It is still surprising to see Air Canada loosen its "all Boeing" attitude acquired from years of hiring top management from Continental. But it says a lot about 27 a320ceo being retained in fleet instead of getting the 737 Max with more efficient engines. My guess is the extra capacity of 320 has role to play. And I have to wonder who actually made the decisions and paying for the cockpit upgrades , whether it is Air Canada or the lessors who actually own the aircraft. With such old aircraft, one wonders how many more years AC intends to operate them before returning to lessors in exchange for younger ones.
Probably the biggest problem is too many sales exceeded mfg capability. Airlines are screaming for airplanes and there are only two viable manufacturers. Airbus wisely built a second plant in Alabama; Boeing's plans to begin 737 assy in Everett have been stalled because of its "open door policy."
It hasn't been 'stalled' by anything except its culture and mismanagement. "Open door " my foot. Hide, disseminate, obfuscate, lie, cheat and kill is a more accurate description of this culture.
If there is still a pilot shortage, both Airbus and Boeing are probably aware of the fact that there are many that will fly their aircrafts anyway. So they are probably using the airplane pilot shortage to catch up in areas they urgently need to such as the supply chains, quality issues (as in the case of boeing), and airlines' financial crises to resolve.
Sadly Airbus can't offer to fill in these delayed Boeing orders. It means Airbus doesn't have to low ball tenders to compete with Boeing and cutting your partly airbus fleet will not benefit Boeing orders for much longer.
All good news I do not believe that you can produce high quality fast. If the planes are delivered slower and the quality is higher then that is good news. Airplanes are not phones which are often replaced after 2 years.
Even though there is some issues. Statistically Boeing IS SAFE. Most planes over the US are 737’s. People need to think about this before saying Boeing is dangerous!
Look up 787 fiasco.... Even till this day, Boeing is still rebuilding them because they want to spend billion to rebuild planes? No, it was because they botched the early production so much that those early planes were suspected of potential failures necessitate the full inspection and rebuilding of many planes.
Not sure the families of the max crashes think that and if someone was seated by the recent blowout it would have costed more lives. I agree Boeing planes are not dangerous, but the max is. They should have started with a clean sheet design, all about greed. They have lost their way and now are an embarrassment to the industry.
i am surprised about air canada's A320 family with retrofitting aircraft, most A320's are 20+ years old. i thought it will replace it by Boeing 737 Max 8 and Airbus A220
It probably made sense to retrofit them as it it probably cheaper and more practical than replacing all planes (and also could be faster du to the years it take to get new planes delivered) + make sense for pilot and maintenance to have a more unified fleet. Also this probably help pilots in the cockpit to get all the new features.
All I can say is no one is here to blame except for Boeing management know what he was doing and they changed the culture and was trying to be more of a business than an aerospace engineering company so this is what happened do I think Boeing can get it cleaned up yes they can, but they got to do it now they have more like This is gonna be done
Next news is Boeing's Board is going to give its boss, Killer Calhoun tens of millions in bonuses this quarter for his sterling job of ruining the company!!!
It’s going to take years to turn this battleship of poor performance poor quality, poor reputation. Boeing owns it lock Stock and barrel, blame it on their CEO, which they gave a golden parachute amounting to $45 million! Go figure, how does that logic Happen??? As a proud American it breaks my heart to see these CEOs rewarded for such poor performance, miserly attitude, placing profits above safety and quality.
when does this bad mouthing stop by naive youtubers who have nothing else to do in their lives Boeing has been around for decades building good safe planes and I am certain that their overall safety record is as good as Airbus There is no doubt that there is a quality issue it is impossible to oversee 160,000 workers spread around in various factories to see if they produce good or bad quality work intentionally or unintentionally The two fatal crashes could have been avoided with western trained pilots They would have if overridden the faulty sensors and fly the planes to safety manually An independent French investigation confirmed the same but the fake media never talked about this Losing a wheel, skidding off a runway, engine fire has nothing to do with Boeing but it is a maintenance issue Maybe united airlines should be investigated and grounded until they improve The recent plane plunge maybe is a maintenance issue as well we do not know yet but right away Boeing gets slammed There is all kinds of mis information out there but none of these news outlets gets shut down In addition you hear all these RU-vidrs bad mouthing Boeing It would be interesting to find out what quality work they did/do in their profession I am sure many of them should be fired Than you have the former Boeing employees bad mouthing the company maybe they should be investigated regarding good quality work Maybe we should ban Boeing of building passenger planes and should Airbus ever have a low point well we just don’t fly anymore it is good for the environment and greta turnburg would be a happy camper
Boeing needs to learn from Airbus if it wants to regain it's past glory. For this it has to give up it's nose in the air and head in the sand attitude and last but not the least . Lay stress on Quality over Quantity. No Cutting Corners.
The Boeing basher is back! Time for another great Airbus commercial.. Why do you call yourself DJ.s Aviation?? Change it to DJ.s Airbus Aviation or i.m DJ,the big Boeing basher. Or call it DJ,s Aviation, for all your aviation news two years old taken from internet. Give me a break, cut this clickbait full of nonsense channel. It is the laughing stock on RU-vid.
Be sure there is another guy coming who will fill his pockets.... You can't lose as a CEO in his company but you need many lawyers who check your contract....
@klausschumacher7126 Exactly 💯 Calhoun was brought in to cut costs and maintain the bottom by all means necessary nothing more for it to blow up in their faces.
@@nickolliver3021 you must either be in extreme denial or living under a rock if you truly believe that Boeing bad news and Airbus bad news are on the same level lol. I know this was about delays in delivery that exist for both, but it means so much worse for Boeing given the context of all its other news than it does for Airbus.
BREEZE, best news was last. Boeing, fact is that we neither want just Airbus but we also need to see commitment from Boeing by clearing out its latest internal promotions and bringing in NEW UNTAINTED TALENT.
Of course, David Calhoun received $55M severance even though he couldn’t solve the production and quality problems. If I couldn’t do my job I suspect my company wouldn’t offer such a generous severance.
The latest meaningless fluff filler: "..., yes, ...". Cut the fluff, man. Your news are interesting, and you don't need to pad your video narration with meaningless filler.
Why is boeing continuing with the Jurassic 737, while Airbus is moving from strength to strength? Even more surprising, why are airlines still ordering this dinosaur?
I take it this is not about Qatar declining the A350 fleet for Boeing as the A350 engines require too much maintenance in Hot sandy climates. Should be fine for London to Amsterdam then.
You seem to relish every opportunity to slam Boeing no matter what it is. Obviously you are pro Airbus no matter what the topic is. NPR in the USA is going through the same type of scrutiny you should.
Can I assume that, when you say "Boeing's significant oversight", you are using 'oversight' in the American, and not the British definition - you know, the one that got them in to this hole in the first place?
The 220 has not proven time and time again is a good airplane. It is plagued with engine troubles and other things. Airlines are dumping this aircraft completely such as Porter and Egypt air
Shhh. Airbus does not have problems. Its aircraft are never subject to airworthiness directives and deliveries are always on time. New models never have development problems and fly through the program without delay.
If Boeing had just kept building the 757 as well as the 717 (former mD-80 series) and let the 737 follow the 727 in oblivion they would be having none of these problems
Boeings problems are 90% pure lack of knowledgeable management and the culture instilled by it. Their conscious decision to scrap safety and quality were part of that culture. They desperately need to clean house of all top management and start afresh.
It is better that they slow down to assure to the public that their most recent delivered aircrafts were made safer and with higher quality than those that have gotten them in trouble over the last several years.
Boeing is run by shareholders ever since the merger with McDonald Douglas. Regardless of the ceo, downward pressure from shareholders and the board to drive up production and deliveries will threaten quality and safely. Boeing is a broken culture that has consistently shown deceit and contempt driven by greed. It will take significantly more oversight than the FAA is able to currently provide.
Boeing traded greed for engineering excellence. I do not trust, or fly on Boeing aircraft anymore. I downloaded an app online that books flights only on non Boeing aircraft.
@@josh3771 With such a high demand with backlog, it could help fill the need. Plus, more competition will put more pressure on Boeing to get their act in order.
