The publishing industry can be incredibly opaque and difficult for authors to navigate - especially because there is so much conflicting advice out there. When you’re getting one piece of advice from an author friend, then see the exact opposite piece of advice from someone on RU-vid or Twitter, it can be extremely difficult to figure out which guidance to follow. Today, I’m setting the record straight by sharing five pieces of common (but flawed) publishing advice that I think you should ignore.
