I believe that before we even go so deep into the control modules, the very basic troubleshooting checks should be the electrical connectors (bad and oxidized electrical contacts), which can cause delayed or failed shift solenoid operation. Always follow the repair flowchart from the most economical then work your way down to the more costly ones. Without Prejudice to anyone, this is my way of troubleshooting any repairs. My ford focus transmission has been giving me problems lately. Won’t shift into gears , stays in certain gears , doesn’t accelerate correctly, won’t go in reverse. When i took it to the shop they said it was probably the transmission range sensor so i replaced that, had same issues. Replaced the B actuator next it worked for a couple hundred miles then same issue. Replaced the other actuator and it only worked 100 miles or so then same issue. Should i replace the TCM next? I did all the cheaper fixes first but still having issues and don’t know what to do.
Thank you I’ve been having transmission problems with my 2007 Nissan Maxima SE not shifting and not running good but definitely there’s a problem with the TCM on my dash I noticed that when I shift the gears into Park or Neutral not showing on my dash but the Reverse and Drive are showing unbelievable how something like this will not let your vehicle run good and transmission performance horrible.
The serial numbers are on your TCM. It’s not hard to locate or snap a pic of. I’m going through the process of fixing mine now that I’ve replaced both actuators and the range sensor but have same transmission problems. It’s a pain in the ass. Screw ford they sell shit cars

I have a 2017 Expedition EL now and its a beast and super reliable.. The focus really killed their car reputation.
I have 2013 charger that had a front wiring harness replacement. It shifted fine going over to the garage, harness was replaced wouldn't shift right after that. Codes up the ying yang clear the codes and sometimes it shift's sometimes no it wont shift right. The garage says its a speed sensor 1900 dollars to fix , i think someone is full of it. Like i said shifted fine before a harness replacement, something doesn't smell right , i could be wrong but though
ii had a 2014 focus, it would shutter shifting in between 1st and 2nd gear. they are notorious for faulty transmissions, especially 2012-2018 models. usually its the double clutch that fails in them.

Same issues I changed the ecm but it’s running really rough at park it idles low seems to be at 600 then in drive jumps up crazy high & seems as if it’s going to stall out I have a 06 gxp Grand Prix

Even though P0700 code is triggered, Ford dealership claimed that the TCM warranty doesn't cover P287B. In other words, no correlation. Agree or disagree?

I have an automatic 2010 mazda 3 which started jerking when shifting through the gears. i changed the ATF and it still continued and later on the car lost power while i was driving and it wouldnt engage any gear. The mechanic says i need to change my gear box and tcm. While all this was happening i never had any warning lights come on. Any thoughts or comments ?
I am getting a P0717 Code for my trans, which occurred after I power washed the engine bay. The trans is sticking in first gear, clunking at a stop or when I let my foot off the brake after coming to a stop. I am receiving a "Service Transmission" indication on the dash, and a "Service Stabilitrak and Traction Control," too. The TCM is located on top of the trans and connected to the gear shift selector. Everyone says my trans is done (at 200K miles), but I don't believe it because serviced the trans when required so, I don't think its the trans but the TCM. I have a 2015 Nissan quest and it was crushed on the side of the drivers side. It had a problem when I got it back after repaired that as you were driving it will pull to the left and when you would let it go it would pull to the right or vice versa already exhausted most of my savings in this problem by changing parts that were not it took it out of the shop and changed all of the motor from the motor thinking that that would be a problem and pinion we changed it and we changed the control arms as well Also the part for the little boots which I cannot remember the name of it that got replaced as well because it was worn out. 08 ford fusion 4 cyl (257k) never had trans issues minus leaks and previous owner changed all shift solenoids prior to purchase.services always kept up on fluid looks brand new out the bottle When sitting in a parking lot or at idle at operating temperature for about 12-15 minutes go for a drive car will shift extremely hard into every single gear violently making the car shake like the trans was on its way out shut the car off and start it right back up shifts perfectly fine and as it’s suppose too smooths shifts no jerks slips etc Assuming the tcm is on its way out since under normal conditions it’s completely fine until you sit at idle for a bit

@thecrusader3941 then i should NOT see this video when i type into the search bar " Location of the TCM on a 2002 GMC Envoy". I had to check with a GM mechanic to not only find the location. But also be informed that the TCM is the same as the PCM on that make and model vehicle. There is apparently three components in one on that SUV. Things were better when there wasn't all this electronic junk on vehicles. I just saw a video on a brand new Dodge truck. And it had problems that only let you drive it about 30 miles. And then it lit up like a Christmas tree. And when the codes were read on it. There were dozens of them. Only to find out that it was one component that was causing all the codes for different things there was nothing wrong with. IMO if its been built since the mid 1980's forward its junk. I wouldn't buy a new vehicle if i had Bill Gates money.

Great tutorial...My 2010 Impala 3.5L has been having intermittent No Crank No Start issues the Usually begin with a Goofy Start (Starts after Returning from Crank Position to On Position) and soon after, warning Chimes, Service Everything Messages, Gauges go Crazy back and forth, Door Locks on/Off Constantly, Shifts get Rough BUt not Limp Mode and sometimes it actually goes into limp mode.. Once I shut it off for a while a No Crank No Start will happen... Most of the times I can Disconnect Battery and then it gets back to normal.. Took it to dealer and they got me for a $800 New Starter + Diagnosis fee and it worked for 2 days until No Crack No Start again.. Finally get it Started and Limped it back to Dealership.. They had it for 3 weeks and Couldn't recreate the problem... They were leanings towards Bad BCM... They did clean the major Grounds... I got it back from them and it worked for 5 days than Back to same symptoms... Will a Bad TCM also cause these crazy symptoms.

I have a 2017 mitsubishi lancer with a P2719 code. I've read about people replacing valves, valve body, fluid filters etc.. then having the same issue until thier TCM or ECU software was updated from Mitsubishi. Any insight into this? I have a 03 yukon 5.3 and its tbrowing no codes but it wont shift. Put in drive an never shifts it pulls of strong in drive and reverse abd wi take off in all gears if you do it manualy. Just put the transmission in. The old transmission wouldn't go to 3rd or 4th now this one won't shift at all

Hey guys, I’ve had a similar issue with my van (2001) 3.3litr v6 I noticed that when I was driving, the van was stuttering and it seemed like it didn’t want to drive nor break and I was only going about 35-45km. I pulled to the side stoped and turned it off for about 5 mins then I started it drove normal for the first few seconds then it was stuttering again and wouldn’t go past 20-25km so then I turned it off and parked it, after leaving it turned off for awhile I started it and it cranked but then turned completely off in about 20 seconds , then the engine was stuttering and it seemed like it wanted to go but kept on stuttering the muffler was giving out some weird sounds…maybe bad fuel pump? Transmission gone bad ? ….if anyone can point me in the right direction on what to do….I would grateful appreciate it

My tcm took a shit on me three weeks ago and ford has 40 on back order luckily when it went out it happened at Kia where I worked so it’s just sitting there still waiting smh
