They made this song about the civil war in Ireland. I remember seeing segments on the news as a young girl. The war was pretty long and as you can see, ravaged the communities. Dolores was a pioneer in women's grunge rock. Bad Wolves did a very tasteful tribute to her. Tommy Vext has a very interesting life story and he wrote a song about it.
Tommy Vex sang most of the original lyrics, but he did make it a little more modern by adding 2018 when original was 1916. Hundred years era. Crazy. Her voice was unique. This was one of my favorite songs when I was in highschool. Bad Wolves remake is the best one I've heard cover it. Imo! She was from Ireland and that's what gove her such a unique vocal technique.
I think you got it. The glass is stopping them from touching or separating life and death. She’s here but not. The original was always powerful being Irish-American . Even though the world sees us as American. The Irish were great warriors and won many battles and wars. It just seems they could never come together as a people and throw off the yolk of the English.
One of the best female voices I have ever heard in my life. So original and pleasing to the ears. Tragedy to see her pass away. Bad Wolves did a great cover of the song too and their singer did a great job trying to fill Dolores shoes. .
Omg I loved them so much! They aren't together anymore but the lead singer is still making his own music as well as the band. ❤❤ This video represents her as the painted woman watching them carry on. 😢 Tommy Vext is his name I believe. He has a page on tt. She was so amazing!! 😢❤
Great reaction. You should definitely check One ok Rock band. It's a Japanese band and you will absolutely like them. I suggest "take what you want", "we are" and "clock strikes" make sure the live version. Looking forward to your reaction.
She wrote this after the Provisional IRA killed two young boys in Warrington, England. It’s not anti a United Ireland, but it seriously criticises the means of achieving it. ❤ Great reaction. Thank you 👍🏽👍☘️
This song was written after two children were killed by a bomb during The Troubles between Ireland and Northern Ireland. It was an anti-violence song calling for an end to the violence between the IRA and Northern Ireland.

The original was written during the Irish Civil War and was for the innocents who died in between. Ultimately, it's become an anthem for all who are truly opposed to all war
I highly suggest you listen to a song called SALVATION by the Cranberries. It really showcases her amazing vocals RIP Dolores ❤️ Oh and this was recorded in the 90s and still is a BANGER today sir 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Omg i love this version and gets you in the feels..i love Tommy Vext (Former lead singer of Bad Wolves) and sux they are no longer together...i used to listen to The Cranberries with my kids and this is my daughters fave song and yes thats Delores lead singer of The Cranberries she had a beautiful voice
Definitely go watch the original video by The Cranberries then this video will make a lot more sense. Bad Wolves did a great job covering this song. I was in the 8th grade when the original came out and I played it over and over. I think it was the first song I learned on guitar too. So good!
