Man that is a bad machine. I'm a Mopar guy first but a 70 Cyclone 429 SCJ Drag Pack is my favorite Mercury ever made. One of the meanest looking muscle cars of that whole era imo. I prefer the Cyclone over the 70 Torino Cobra because of the gun sight grille and the fact that Mercury's typically had a nicer interior than regular Ford's did. Love the 67-70 Cougar body style too. I'd love to own a 68 Cougar GT-E 7 Litre or a 69-70 Cougar Eliminator BOSS 302. I'd take a 67-70 Cougar over a 67-70 Mustang any day of the week. The Cougar was a way nicer car than a Mustang. Mustang's were actually almost considered a "throwaway" car or a "disposable" car back in 1964-66 other than the Shelby GT350's. Real gearheads kinda looked down on non-Shelby Mustang's in the early years. There were cars out there a hell of a lot faster than a K-Code 289 Mustang back in 1965-66. Non Shelby Mustang's didn't really start getting any respect until the 390 and 428 big blocks first became available. I believe the 390 horsepower 427 was listed as an option too in 1967 and early 68 but no 427 Mustangs were ever built
Hate the color but how many 429 cyclones do you see now day's? Cyclone spoiler. Very rare. I love 60-70s Ford ,Mercury muscle cars. I had a 71 boss 351 mustang fastback. I loved it.
