Siento lo mismo que Vos . Una súper Banda . Unos genios . Desde ayer que comencé a escucharlos 7 de noviembre del 2023. Me doy cuenta que he perdido mucho tiempo din escuchar tan linda música de BADFINGER. GRANDES POR SIEMPRE
Pete could hold his own as a lead guitarist, singer songwriter with anybody. Sad he had to die for nothing. So much talent. God bless you Pete, wherever yo are.
I am not going to lie, This version of this song by Badfinger is a lot better than other recordings! Joey Molland if you are seeing this, one day, I always want to talk and interview with you! I am now a biggest Badfinger fan! Thanks, Deacon Hill
This is Badfinger kicking ass and taking names!! Pete tearing up the leads, Left handed Mike Rockin his Kit, Tommys Killer bass and vocals, and Joes great guitar and laid back vibrato vocals....Rock and Roll Bliss !!!!!!!! Badfinger Rules !!!!
Pete Ham (main lead singer/guitarist) and drummer Mike Gibbins were from Swansea, Wales. Tom Evans (bass and great harmonies here) and guitarist Joey Molland (singing lead here) were born in Liverpool, Eng.
In my opinion, you don't really love Badfinger if you don't at least respect all four members as brilliant musicians. RIP Pete, Tommy, and Mike. Love to Joey.
This band was completely in sync. They “had it”. The bass line, the lead guitar, electric drumming, harmonies etc…great writing. One of the best arrangers.x
@@jaynedough4713 He's up there. I call various artists "Triple Threats" - guys who were amazing songwriters, instrument virtuosos and terrific vocalists. Not many were triple threats to the degree of Pete Ham. Of course, many could do all three, but for my money, guys like John, Paul, Clapton, Terry Kath, Elton John, Billy Joel and Hendrix...and Pete Ham... are top echelon triple threats. Of course, there are others, but not too many others belong with them.
I absolutely love Badfinger. Every morning I listen to Baby Blue. I love the guitar in that song. it's sad to know that two of them are dead. Breaks my heart!
The two autors from the Badfingers songs, died by suicide cause their management let them in the misery. They were the autors from 'Without you'. Nilsson was doing in 1972 a fantastic version from their song...Bloody show bussiness! I knew personnally Harry Nilsson in march 15th 1972. He liked the 2 songs I recorded at Trident Studios, one in catalan language and the side B in french. He said to me that hi kiked this songs and finish with this words: ¡Good luck!. But I was not made for the sow bussiness and his miserys. I recorded 2 LP published in France, Spain, Catalonia, Sweden, but the songs were fight social songs mostly of them...The 'réalisateur' from my CBS Série Gémini 1274, I've seen two years ago in one interview in the French Television that he have produced even 'un vagabond'. Maybe, but my social libertarian fight in CNT, the anarchosindicalisttrade Union is much better than the 'glory of show bussiness'. Ramon Muns (you can see a little part of my songs in RU-vid). Regards to the familiy and friends from Badfingers, and for all libertarian people!
Shangrila Tommy died the night Pete killed himself. He never recovered . I sat with him on many occasions talking about that last as well as what led up to it and the aftermath. If Pete didn’t kill himself, Tommy would still be with us.
Pete Ham always shines on this song. The BBC recording is hot, too! He really "made" a lot of Joey's songs with his lead guitar work, like his lead throughout "Get Away" and 'Mean Mean Jamima". Genius!
I saw them right after the release of "Straight Up" in Santa Monica California. The theater was "in the round" meaning the stage was in the center and revolved. Let me tell you, they BLEW THE PLACE AWAY! And I'm not exaggerating in the least. Unbelievable!
I'll never forget the first time I heard badfinger when they first released their record, I thought it was somehow a new Beatles tune, which would have been a miracle. RIP Pete- an early member of the 27 club.
Can't you see why Paul and George liked em? Multi talented - 3 who could take lead vocal or bass/ lead/rhythm. What a top band. Would hv been huge in 70's.
In "Without You" Tom had some adjusting to do when switching to the bass, but man listen to that, he really picked up on the bass really well, didn't he? I love Mike's drumming as well.
Such a phenominal band. Pete Ham was so astounding as a musician/singer/sonwriter. I think of all the music he would have created. Massive solo career too. RIP Pete, you are legend 💜
Ham's lead playing...thumbs up...that guy just blows my mind! From the melodies he poured out of his soul to the compositions he worked out so finely and to the plain old making the guitar sing is why Badfinger will live on...not saying the rest of the guys should be taken as being along for the ride, but Pete was out of this world with talent.
This was a great band. Like many others, they were talent musicians with the right chemistry at the right time of rock n roll history! Also, as many others,
Radiohead, for one most know of. You'll never hear me say a solitary bad word about Badfinger, and I'm dumfounded that they're so disgustingly under-appreciated for their collective talent. However there are plenty of little-to-lesser known current bands with boatloads of talent - and, like Badfinger, perhaps not given their deserved recognition. What makes Badfinger so special is they're Badfinger. And there will never be another. But there are other greats out there waiting to be heard.
southern rock was really in vogue at the time and badfinger shows there versatility here. almost thought i was hearing bonnie and delany with clapton or the allman bros. excellent quitar by Peter.
Check out Pete's guitar technique at 03:31 - using the pick and his fingers alternately. Great stuff! A good chunk of his solo tracks and demos are right up there with Badfinger too
There's an analysis video from 2yrs ago highlighting Pete Ham's hybrid picking technique: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1XBcFfrB7dU.html
man..this is just incredible...they can play.....my favorite ever uk band after the beatles..tho whenever i even hear the name badfinger my heart feels alittle tighter, ifeel sader, i still cant beleive what happen to these guys
Wow, they were rocking this version of Better Days. Makes ya wanna say step on it Pete !! You should hear Ham chops playing the lead to "Constitution" ...talk about Hendrix. Who was better? Listen to it
A beautiful sound from the times- or how I imagine the times sounded- as I would've been about 10 that year. Tragic outcome for Badfinger and it's members, but their music is an amazing legacy. Resist the compulsion to blame please.
Killer performance. I enjoyed all their songs on the radio and assumed they were rich and successful, truly tragic what happened. They were a great band. Very sad.
