I think the plan of virar JNPT and Delhi Mumbai JNPT spur was planned very late. This is leading to slow post plan process that is land acquisition. I think the plan to merge this 2 projects was taken only 7-8 months back. Delhi mumbai was planned by NHAI and Virar Alibaug was more led by state government
When Gadkari was Transport Minister of Maharashtra, he would give contractors bonuses for meeting completion targets. If a contractor finished 50% of a project early, Maha govt would give contactor a bonus and the contractor would use that to hire more workers and accelerate the project. I don't think NHAI has that bonus structure (it would be pretty expensive) but such bonuses can be quite the motivator for contractors to finish sooner.
Ideally they should complete this road from JNPT to Interchange near Vajreshwari. This will help truckers to use this road to go to Nashik Highway, Ahmedabad highway at least for now. This will offload truck traffic from City roads. And this stretch should be toll free if possible.
What you say is correct . In Maharashtra lots of projects announced but going on very very slow. Take the Metro projects in Mumbai. 14 projects announced 6 years before. Now work on 5 are not even stared . Other, 7,4,6,9,5 are running very very slow. Will now take another 4 years to complete. Shame shame.

Maharashtra has seen maximum developments mostly all the highways leading to Mumbai due to which state is struggling but still they are doing their best.

i think this section is very much near to samruddhi last section, as govt wanted to open samruddhi highway before election they divert all resources towards samruddhi but they didn't succeed, as already elections are declared now they will start again working on this project, after completion of samruddhi, the progress of virar jnpt section will be much much faster , and they will finish it by next year
Maharashtrra is No.1 by a margin. Very proud! But we will have to behave like No.1 else other states will overtake us soon. Corruption is highest in Maharashtra. Here Gov Engineers will not sign your bills till they dont get their percentage and for this they will harass your work to slow it down till you pay them up.

I dont think its a issue of Land acquisition. Projects by MSRDC completes before time. Only Centre's projects takes excessive time. I strongly believe its CG biasness towards Maharashtra and wants to delay every project here. CG dont want MH to be no. 1
🤡any delay only causes increase in costs of the project which central govt will have to bear. Besides govt just awards the contract, it depends on the contractor how quickly the project gets completed.

It would be so much better to call them by the absolute names -- south tunnel or east tunnel or whatever is appropriate. Now we have a permanent source of confusion.
For any kind of road project,, the name is always decided upon,, where the expressway starts and where it ends,, For say Delhi to Mumbai Expressway,, that’s why it’s name is delhi Mumbai Expressway,, Nagpur to Mumbai Expressway, so Nagpur Mumbai Expressway. So when it comes to the Plan and Profile of the project,, in general drawing,, you have to face towards end,, and your left will be always Lhs and right will be always Rhs. For this project,, you will face towards end direction,, means at delhi you will face towards Mumbai ,, that’s how it works. And its a ISO Standards.

Absolute referencing (or Delhi-bound, Mumbai bound, etc.) would actually get Indians in the habit of using compass-based descriptions. Ask someone for help on how to get from point A to B, and they describe a jalebi -- idhar jao, us taraf mod lo, and so on.
