I've always thought that Damon must've had Electric Light Orchestra as an influence when he wrote this song. The strings in it particularly put me in mind of their song, Evil Woman. They're both great songs.

He was pretty popular around 2002 when he wrote the About a Boy soundtrack, but sadly his popularity soon faded.
