I absolutely LOVE this song!!! About A Boy is my favourite movie, ever, and I loved the soundtrack so much; it reminds me of such a good season in my life! I would almost do anything to return there! This rendition is amazing, too! Badly Drawn Boy: Such rare, talent!!!
My son was born to this song.. He is now a staping midfield general who is a mainstay for greetland goldstarsand growing up with a nice outlook in life.. Guess what I'm sayin is that I'm proud in what I've produced a great little lad with musical taste...2002. This song reminds me of my new born son.. William wright.. He's just the best xx
This song came into my head yesterday, it's a womderful tune. Alot of emotion in it, this version is amazing. Jools Holland will live forever. What a time to be alive this was
If you put the Beatles, Beck, Elliott Smith and Morrissey in a blender, what you'll probably get is BDB. Criminally underrated, underappreciated artist.
I am a Nick Hornby fan. I love every film based on his novels. About A Boy in particular. Nicholas Hoult was perfect, Toni Collete impecable as usual, and Hugh Grant was better than never. Soundtrack is amazing and this particular song brings me back to 2002 in a blink. I also miss that time. BTW the video clip for this one is AWESOME!
Agreed. This song transports me straight back to the early noughties. At the time I thought it was a pretty uninspiring time, but now I'm nostalgic for that period. There was a sense of optimism that I don't think we feel now unfortunately.
today I've been living one year over COVID emergency in Mexico City. Many tears, pain, sunsets, fear ... friends, people, children, I listen this beautiful song and repeat myself... "next day will be better". .. Thanks
After my graduation day, I was not feeling very well, because after that, I knew I wouldn't see my friends for a while, when I came back home, it was 7 pm, I lock my self, and it was like magic, this song started playing in my playlist that I had on my room, I stood there for 3 minutes in silence after the song. Man I really felt my own silent sigh
I've bumped into damon a few times now at Giggs in the north west hes always forthcoming and ready to share opinions on anything be it music of any genre. Hes always been open and friendly and pleased to interact with the public and gage there opion.for me I found damon a 100% person engaged in your opinions and not any illusions of stardom. The lads so underrated. Proper genuine human being. Xx
This is so beautiful. I am listening to it over and over and over. How I love the instrumentals of this song, which draw forth my own vocals. This version also allows my being to respond, more than the studio produced version. I consider this to be a very inspired piece.
SUCH A STUNNING PIECE OF MUSIC AND SUNG BEAUTIFULLY......AND I SEE TESCO'S ARE USING 'ABOUT A BOY' FOR THE MUSIC FOR THEIR FOOD LOVE STORIES ADVERT 'NAN'S SOUP'......
I never did anything remarkable with my life. Never really made a difference. Wasted so many youthful years dreaming in my head instead of taking chances and actually doing. I was always waiting for life to be right and now that it’s coming to an end, I’m full of sadness and regret.
love damon gougth, a truley talented musician, and keeps to his roots, thanks for the songs badly drawn boy,,and long may you continue....peace brother....
no man is an island my friend :) i am a lone and socially awkward and yet i don't think i can live in complete loneliness; i always need of my friends family and girlfriend. it's crazy but we can't live completely alone :P i love this movie is my favorite as well :P
Thanks, I never tire of this performance. I loved his first album, Hour of the Bewilderbeast and the songs "Once Around the Block" and "Magic in the Air".
Ojalá que en nuestra vida pudiéramos borrar todos los miedos , pesares ,angustias de manera mágica y detener el tiempo cuando nuestros hijos son aún niños
@@Kevintheturtle7893 10 years later and the world has changed a lot... My love for this song on the other hand hasn't changed a bit. Still here, buddy!
This is terribly sad news. He was a gentle soul. Rourke as much as anyone got me through the 80s, those beautiful bass notes on Heaven Knows, Charming Man, William. RIP.
