@@Elipson52008 We must be from different places. In Buenos Aires we call them "tomates" and cherry tomatoes are "tomates cherry" (because we are _very_ original) I have heard of "jitomate" before, but that's definitely not a word we use here

Yup different root languages. These days I'd say both pronunciations of Tomato are correct, but as far as I know Tomahto was the original.

Tomatoes and Potatoes both are originally from South America, so they maybe be connected.

The British accent is not actually the original English accent. It came about after the American Revolution, meaning that the American accent is technically the original.
