Thanks for the video! Has anyone had issues with the M600 getting an Error Code 21 two seconds after starting to pedal? Bafang sent a new speed controller as it is called in this video, but same issue. (First they sent a new magnet and PAS sensor...no difference.)
Good video, but I wish you had started with taking off the sunken spider so people could see how you did that. Also, that gear assembly you pulled out. How are the gears mounted in that assembly. Are they pressed in to that metal housing?
Great job, first time anybody has shown inside a m600. Can you please show the stator coils and magnet rotor for reference in size comparison to m620. Im trying to decide which motor for my dream bike build. There are no google pictures anywhere inside the m600
Based on the motor case dimensions, the M620 definitely has a larger diameter stator. Stator height is yet to be seen, but based on weight and q-factor, I’d expect that to be smaller (or maybe equal) too. IMO, the M600 is a drive system that prioritizes compactness and weight savings over outright power. Unfortunately, we can’t have both, due to those pesky laws of physics :) I’d say that if you’re going for outright speed and intend to use the throttle more often, the M620 is the way to go. I’d also prefer the M620 for full fat (>=4”) builds. If you’re building a bike that will spend as much time going downhill as it will going up, the M600 will save you weight, which translates to better handling downhill.
Luna just announced a PEEK plastic replacement gear for the M600 that is much quieter than the metal gear. That gear is here on the Luna web site lunacycle.com/luna-m600-silent-gear/
I have a fault in my m600 bike battery shorting at terminals can the speed controller part of case be taken off with motor still on bike? Need a bit of info on tools necessary
I'm trying to decide on aountain bike and want this or the m620 g512 motor Not serious downhill but need to get uphill without breaking a sweat, I weigh 11.5 stone and fairly fit , simple servicing and reliability is probably more important to me than weight saving, But if the m600 is reliable I'd go with it I guess, What do you think, g512 or m600?
