Most of Chicago is writing him off. They need to keep in mind he is an undrafted rookie from a Division II team. Throwing him in there and expecting him to win games this early in his career is a lot to ask. He is composed, in control, goes through his progressions, etc.
your dead wrong most chi or bears fan are not writing him off. idk what your talking about, everyone even the fields fans, want him at least as backup.
@@hockeyfan1799…27 interceptions and 32 fumbles are ok too?…3 interceptions and 3 fumbles against Tampa his seventh game his rookie year is acceptable?
@@ktkilla08 …the stats are showing both back up quarterbacks at this point….neither of these guys can drive the offense down the field to win a game in the 4th quarter. Or compete at a consistent level for more than 2 games…Im not taking sides…they both are back up qb’s to a consistent level starting quarterback.
Saints fan here: Dennis Allen's M.O. is second half adjustments. Bagent can get almost whatever he wants first half... Allen is a master at taking things away second half. Bagent will get better at reading zones where he threw two picks. He had three games experience... Cut him some slack.... for real
These "fans" are afraid that Bagent will look better than Fields after more game experience. Facts are that Bagent already is miles ahead of Fields with quick processing, moving in the pocket and presnap reads and adjustments.
@@christopherharris3229I know this is a hot take but I’d be interested in trading fields for a second and trading the first pick with the raiders for max Crosby, their 13th overall pick, their second rounder, and their first rounder next year and maybe more. Draft Rome at 9 bowers at 13 ricky pearsall in the second round along with a safety. Add depth/best available later rounds. Splash big money at the best center available. Roll with Bagent for now. Worst case we get another two top first round picks. Best case he’s a more athletic Brock purdy with a bigger arm that’s a little more raw coming from d2. That’s a bonafide roster he would have. Could def see 10 wins even with him still developing and in year three would be less raw and have another 2 first rounders for more young talent. Could end up with an amazing roster. Would be exciting tbh. It’s funny how I read a rams mock draft and they had Bagent and the guy was talking about his upside and how he thought he was a more raw stafford with legit talent.
Bagent isn't the problem...Its the entire team...When your 2 top receivers are running into eachother, A horrible Coach and staff, a Defense that cant stop the ball....This is the worst Bears team ive seen in 30 years
I was at the game. We gave this game away. Also, it’s a hostile, loud, environment. The missed field goal started the momentum shift . We had them, but the turnovers and penalties kept them in the game. Poor coaching…
I just don’t think offensive coordinators can help themselves. Going back to Mike Martz refusal to run the greatest running back in the league that year and costing his “greatest show on turf“ team a second Super Bowl with the offensive line on the sidelines screaming for him to run the ball. Why does Getsy abandon everything that was good about that first half? We are down by only one score and they stop rolling Beijing out of the pocket and they stop running the football! And by the way, we are not a good enough team to try a double reverse that loses 5 yards.
Agent Bagent was missing a few receivers but he also was puttin the ball on the spot quite often. I like him. I prefer JF1 as QB1 but Agent Bagent is a keeper!
So he is still from a D2 school and to play as well as he did despite the ints shows that the more he plays the better he'll get, Mark my words he'll definitely be a good QB
Amen. I sincerely hope that after the Fields experiment the rest of this season we give this kid full reign next year. If he still is throwing BAD ints, then sell the farm for the Manning kid in 25
Bro he’s a back up point blank period. He doesn’t have premier arm talent you can’t check down all day and throw glorified check forge and 50/50 balls that hang beyond 10 yds
My man is probably gona have to wait for JF to get injured again honeslty. But i feel like Tyson after 2 yrs would be farther along . So i guess im saying i think he may be more coachable
Kmet layed the wood on a couple of unfortunate instance of defense. Bagent is gonna be a solid back-up, with enough time he may make a decent starter on a rebuilding team or something. But I keep noticing his "weak" throws / behind target his power leg is not on the ground still at release. It's the same reason you try to avoid throwing cross shoulder or in the air.... nothing to anchor or aim the power with technique. What I can't discern is exactly why. Whether it's a bad habit, or a phsyical thing (not everyone has a perfect swing), or he's pressured just enough certain fundementals slip.
Bagent's arm is plenty strong enough to be a star NFL QB. He's made several late throws and underthrows the last few weeks that people are mistaking for lack of arm strength. Check out his pre-draft scouting reports (link to search below). They almost all say he has good arm strength, and he didn't suddenly lose it once he got to the Bears. Also, Joe Montana had straight-up below average arm strength. Rated significantly lower than Bagent's. Scouts were down on him because of it, and he didn't go until overall pick #82 because of it. And now ... HOF. Arguable GOAT. You just don't need to have top, top arm strength to be a top, top NFL QB. www.google.com/search?q=bagent+%22arm+strength%22+scouting+report&oq=bagen&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBggBEEUYOzIGCAAQRRg7MgYIARBFGDsyBggCEEUYOzIGCAMQRRg5MgYIBBBFGDsyBggFEEUYPDIGCAYQRRg8MgYIBxBFGDzSAQg2MDM4ajBqMagCALACAA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Bagent isn't the problem. The whole team sucks...drop balls, receiver's running into each other, a defense that can't stop a pee-wee team......The Coaching staff is definitely a big joke in the NFL...
@@bige8496i agree, the team may suck but that doesn’t forgive T Bags lack of zip and accuracy on intermediate throws especially. His just dies past 15 to 20 yards. He’s got a game managers arm with a starters brain. That’s tough luck for him. Maybe he can get in the weight room and improve his arm strength but even that will only be marginal. This kid will make a decent Offensive Coordinator after he retires. You can see that he sees the whole field and gets through his progressions but when the saints went man coverage in the second half his lack of arm strength really showed. Expect more man coverage when/if he plays in the future. I compare him to Ryan Fitzpatrick with somewhat less arm strength but he still has touch on quick releases within 10-20 yds. Past that he’s in trouble.
@JLamont45 Ive been following Bagent since last year at Shepard University, its down the road from me 45 mins....I do know his football IQ is very high much more then Fields who is a awesome athlete but lacks the IQ and uses his speed and strength. Bagent reminds of a young Payton Manning by his approach to the defense and body type when Manning was his age at the University of Tennessee and his 1st couple of years with the Colts.....I emjoyed reading your recent post and breakdown of Tyson, It was a good one..👍
@@bige8496 i applicate the endorsement. I am so hopeful for this kid because anyone can see that he's got the mind to really excel. I'm hoping that he gains enough experience to become a Manning type and i have to agree with the comparison. I hadn't thought of that. Ar. Strength at the pro level is a bit overrated. I see a confidence level and passion that i havent seen in a Bears qb that i frankly haven't seen since McMahon and this kid is better than Jim in my opinion. He has a lot of work to do but its going to be fun to watch if he grows like i think he will.
he is throwing it too quickly from the moment he sees it til the throw he should give himself a fraction more of a second to decide/place/time the throw better. he sometimes almost throws it so fast after looking that it gets him into trouble. interesting problem to have as a rookie as normally its the opposite but I'm not a professional so my two cents
i mean hismistakes RIGHT NOW would be less if he did that, but he'd just be playing more like Fields. how he plays is great, especially when you dont have a rocket arm, because you have to always be a step ahead of the defense and if you take a fraction of a second the windows close. He just needs more experience with it at the NFL level, and his mind is so used to throwing to D2 receivers who probably arent nearly as fast so he isn't leading guys enough sometimes.
@@TripHop-that's exactly it, it's not arm strength at all, it is playing at NFL speed. The longer the passing route, the more timing is essential, especially crossing routes. The guy is making reads, in many cases, like a pro, but is not leading the receivers as he ought to. This is classic rookie stuff. I was looking back at Peyton Manning's rookie season, abysmal.
@@busterbrown1686 There is a reason Tom Brady was drafted in the sixth round… he would never be a starting QB … Your bias is showing and your comment is dumb
That would be something! He'd be darn near unstoppable!! Unfortunately I don't think he'll ever get there, based on the complete absence of any improvement in that area since his 1st snap in the nfl
He didn't lead the WRs enough on 2 picks. The decision to throw was late and he doesn't have Top 3 arm strength to be late. He has enough arm if sees it sooner and leads the WR more.
Bagent needs more time to develop a stronger arm. He’s gettin intercepted on passes cuz he doesn’t have the strength to make up for late passes. He’s a suitable back up for now. That’s all he is. If he can get the right coaches to develop him he might have a chance but fields is the starter and u ride with him till the end of the year to know for sure what u got. The season is lost and goin no where anyway
He made some mistakes. Unfirtunately we don't get to see if he improves on them. There is a lot to like in his game and he brings a lot to the table that Fields hasn't figured out yet. On the second pick I'm not a big fan of the route with the 2 deep look. That lazy drift into the middle of the field as opposed to running a post telegraphs the inside route early to the safety and it allowed Maye to get an early jump and crash down on the receiver.
I don’t see a really weak arm. He seems like he tried to get out really quick and just adds touch. Like who are we comparing it to, fields? He’s got a strong arm but wtf does he even do with it. Allen has a huge arm. But Bagent already showed he’s got a stronger arm than a lot of QBs that get praised like Hurts purdy or Dak. If u look up drew Brees highlights and stats, it looks a lot like bagent. just not as polished.
I’m completely disagree love Tyson love his story but his not starting caliber yet, Fields has the potential still bc as an athlete his there does he start off slow in games yes but get him warmed up he will kick anyone’s ass
I think when you watch most of those back, you can see it's not so much arm strength, it literally is just ball placement. He's not up to NFL speed yet leading the receivers, obviously it's more exaggerated the longer the throw. Basically he makes a slight hesitation when choosing to release, and that split-second makes the ball behind. These are classic rookie mistakes. Go back and look at highlight footage from Peyton Manning or others in their rookie seasons.
Fields put together 8tds in back to back weeks Bagent is good in relief for a couple quarters but Fields is the franchise and needs to show he can be that. You wouldn’t trade Mike Vick because of a OC that doesn’t stick to a winning formula. Fields is better than Caleb and Maye He has won on the biggest stages. Andy Reid unlocked Vick and I’m hoping Getsy humbles himself and uses the Washington game plan mixed with that Patriot win last year Bears would score 35 points a game. Fields broke the rushing records last year and is a better passer than the QBs who had the records.
If fields can’t play you play peterman, there is no world where you play Bagent over fields. He doesn’t have the arm talent necessary bro that’s just facts. Why is everybody acting like this is a thing? Fields didn’t get benched he got hurt. Bagent played like shit 2 of 3 games 3 TDs 9 TOs what about that f fun if he were to play good Thursday says controversy? Why do you need a long week for fields? He knows the offense better than anyone.
Perspective, Tyson Bagent can definitely play in the NFL. However NFL QB’s that are successful can make throws that beat defenses. The arm is decent but not NFL Starter.
the arm is more than good enough to be a starter, the accuracy was just off as he just wasn't leading guys enough. Probably because his mind is so used to throwing to D2 receivers who arent nearly as fast. He will learn from it
@@TripHop- arm strength is the only thing Bagent lacks. He a rookie making plays with his arm and legs. Great player without a doubt. However that zip on the ball just isn’t there. The touch passes are on point however defenders are able to catch up on his pass because of the lack of are strength. Take a look at CJ Stroud recent touchdown passes. The zip on the passes is amazing. It beats the defender with ease.
@@Alldaytay15 sure, im just saying his arm strength isnt horrible. its still good enough to be a starter, his overall accuracy on intermediate balls just needs to get better like Brees & steve young etc. and he can be great with mediocre arm strength like they were.
Except he wasn’t. Guys in Tyson’s situation would be VERY lucky to get this much playing time right now, have to make the most of little work when your un drafted. He didn’t. Oppurtunity comes easy for 1st rounders, right or not, it’s just how it works.
@@goated50 And it's STUPID!!!! How many first rounders actually pan out??? The mass majority don't. Repeating the same thing and expecting different results is insane. The NFL needs to change. I am hoping Brock Purdy causes them to think differently about how to bring in a QB. The current system is broken.
@@goated50 Look at the Carolina QB!!! 1st overall pick and he sucks!!! It's time to stop thinking that 1st rounders are good. When history has told us that MOST of them are crap! So the fact that the NFL still hasn't learned their lesson on overhyped 1st round prospects tells me. 1. They are idiots who cannot adapt when the truth is looking right at them. 2. They are weak because fans crave that 1st round of people. I am an entrepreneur. The NFL is one of the worst business models I have ever seen!!
Bagent will make a good journeyman QB if he keeps working hard, It's nonsense that fans expect a undrafted rookie to be the next big thing. It's a great story and in my opinion he already won.
Once we hit the 4th Getsy only called designed plays that developed after 10 yards. The 4th quarter clips show the receivers really aren't open at any point. I understand that he did throw passes behind on quite a few occasions, but I feel he wasn't given much opportunity to succeed.
I believe it's intentional. Coaches are ok with seeing what we can do first half but come the second half they are like, ok guys don't forget we have to protect our draft position. Play calling changes to crap second half of every game and no second half adjustments.
GETSY falls apart in the 4th QTR. Always, check Justin Fields' 4th qtrs, he's horrible and it's because he has no support from a good OC and his head coach is weak too. Getsy put Bagent out there to fail with stagnant play designs that Saints were all over, just ready to pounce. 17 is going to be better because he's built different
I have a question... You said that he didn't have the arm to throw the crossing route and the ball was behind the receiver. Is it his arm strength or ball placement? There have been a few QBs that come to mind that had questionable arm strength but are Hall of Famers, or Super Bowl winners. Personally, I'm impressed by Bagent. There's something different about him. You do a wonderful job breaking down the film.
I think it’s time to go back to Fields. He’s had 3 weeks off and they are playing a terrible team. It’s a good way to get him back into the swing of things before they face Detroit.
@@stormysyndrome7043 he started practicing again last week. Obviously if he’s in a ton of pain or not really able to throw a ball he shouldn’t play but if he can go he should start. It shouldn’t be start Bagent see if struggles and then play Fields

We need to stick with Bagent. We must stop wasting time with Fields, he is a bust. Fields will never be as good as Bagent. We have given Fields 3 F'n years and he stinks. We did not win at home with Fields for a full year, until we won with BAGENT. We have given Bagent 3 games, and some idiots are willing to stab Bagent in the back. Keep starting Bagent for all of 2023 and by 2024 he will make THE PRO BOWL. Bagent will get more arm strength as he matures. We fired M Trubisky that was and is WAY better than Fields, LOOK AT THE STATS. GO BAGENT!
I think Bagent scrambling along the sidelime for the 1st down was a smart decision by him. Why make that throw to Moore, CBs can react to the ball faster than you think, you see what happened to Bagent's 2 Ints. He made a great accurate throw down the middle of the field. Adebo just made a good read on those throws. So again. Why take a risk throwing the ball to Moore at that short yard of a distance towards the sideline. Worse case, it would've given the Saints CB a chance to break in on the throw and it's to obvious to know that. Which is why they were waiting on Bagent to make that throw. Smart decision by Bagent
Yall so called bears fan like to bring up Fields had 3 years but can you tell me who and how Fields was developed to play QB in his 3 years. Did Nagy develope Fields if so go watch Bears vs Browns. Was Gesty developing Fields last year when Fields was running for his life on a complete tear down team when the whole organization was just trying to survive the year. Is Gesty developing Fields this year when all we here is Fields has to fit Gesty system aka Nagy 2.0. Gesty was developing Tyson before he was a bear. So when and how was Fields developed to play qb. All you fans that flipped on Fields deserve this dysfunctional organization and I hope it never ends. Im praying for Fields to call the media to his locker and say im not playing another down for the bears so bears cant even get a 7th in 2030 for Fields.
I like Bagent...and I don't like the clickbait title--for a Rook with only 3 weeks of starter reps, I thought he played pretty damn well for the 1st 3 quarters (overall)....he is only a rookie with 3 weeks of starter reps..and he was in total command for 3...had like 270 plus yards...
Dobbs has also been in the league for 4 yrs, started 10 games and went to a SEC school Tennessee...Bagent looks good considering where he came from. He can only get better and I think he can be Chad Pennington or Kirk Cousins as a ceiling...
The problem with Fields isn't physical ability. The problem is the ability to read defenses quick enough under pressure. The coaches cannot speed up a person's brain. All the coaches can do is remove the amount of options the QB has to pick from. Which makes the offense more predictable. Fields supporters are not understanding that this is a decision-making thing. Think about math for an example. Some people are just faster at processing complicated math problems than others. Same way with the offense.
He has plenty of arm strength. Does he have a cannon? No, but plenty of strength. He is not yet in sync with some of the receivers and made a couple of bad throws.
@@jimmymacnutrition6628 My guy, I played QB. I had better arm strength than Bagent. Bagent has a tough time making tight-window throws past 20 yards in the air. Check the tape on all three of his games. If his receiver isn't wide open and he's just a hair late, it's a pick every time. Those are throws JF1 makes because the ball gets from A to B faster. I don't dislike Bagent at all. But there's a reason he went undrafted. He doesn't have long-term starter tools. It's just facts. He's going to be a very, very capable QB2 for a very long time, hopefully for the Bears. But I already see problems. Getsy is making Bagent make the same kinds of mistakes JF1 has been making. He's not a good OC. He's living off his fame of having worked with Rodgers when the truth is Rodgers made Getsy look way better than he actually is. I will *never* hate on a player who plays with as much heart as Bagent does. I can be objective about his limitations while still loving the guy. The truth is, we have two halves of a good QB on the roster. Put both of them together and you'd have a better Lamar Jackson.
