I'm Canadian and use bags of milk, but I have never heard of or seen those weird little mini pouches. Those are just weird. Where do you put them when you're not finished with them? Do they have mini pitcher? The straw you stab in is just not efficient, those things would be like... Ten times easier to spill! Kids could just randomly yank the straw out and *milk everywhere* wtf is this don't put this evil tiny milk bag label on Canada we didn't deserve this

I one time visited my cousin in ontario and we had breakfast that morning and I bought some milk for myself (I didnt wanna use his milk) and he stopped me and grabbed bagged milk and I asked him “...Please tell me that isn’t milk in a bag.” He said yes and I asked him what was wrong with the milk companies and he told me its been used for a long time in Canadian history. Why is it a thing.

Hey, triggered Canadian here, Quebec is pronounced: "Keh-beck" or sometimes "Kweh-beck", but never "Cue-beck" That's all I had to say

WokenWisp Yeah, generally pronunciation depends on where you live and what language you speak. Kay-bec is usually used by French people and people who live close to Quebec and Manitoba (prominent French provinces) because the French spelling uses an "é" which is pronounced "ay". I'm taking this way to seriously. (._.)

As a person who has been living in Québec, Canada my entire life, I can honestly say that the milk in plastic bags always bothered me and I've never understood why people buy them. I personally prefer it in carton and I feel like I'm part of a minority where I live, because everytime I go at a friend's or at a relative's house, they ALWAYS serve milk in plastic bags and ever since I was a kid, I always feared that the bag might fall while pouring the milk.

We live in Manitoba and went to Ontario once and there was milk in a bag in one of the stores, and my friend says that they just buy the bag and dumps the milk into a pitcher. They don't use the bag they just throw it out after they dump the milk in the pitcher.

a person Well yeah, if every time you use it all you have to do is pour instead of unscrew. Though it takes more effort to grab the letter opener or scissors to open a new bag.

Dragon, Ma boii, it IS pretty lazy for Canadians to Just poke a hole in a bag and pour, rather then unscrewing a cap and pouring, I mean to poke takes like 0 Effort, and unscrewing at least takes Half an Effort point I guess

DCminer I've never seen the small bags of milk and I live in Montreal where this whole thing started so I think it's safe to say that nobody makes them anymore and thus nobody pokes into bags of milk anymore. Also cutting definitely takes more effort because you've got to get the hole just right. Too big and you have a higher chance of spilling. If it's too small then the milk takes longer to pour out.

DCminer if the milk runs out we have to throw out the first bag, get another one and put it in the pitcher, then cut a hole in it. Sometimes you have to throw out the big bag that holds 4 milk bags if you get the last one. All you have to do is grab another gallon and unscrew it.

Yeah Nobody, BUT if you run out of a GALLON, you go to the market, buy it, go home, carry the Mediocrity Heavy Gallon, Unscrew and pour, making sure it doesn't fall.

In my old school we had little bags of chocolate milk or regular milk. Sometimes people would poke too far and have thier little section for milk be filled with milk. This was in San Diego California.(I've moved away from that school and state BTW)

I prefer milk that is in a bag, if it has a cap it gets crusty and dry around the opening. Though sometimes the bag will flop when pouring and it will spill.

It's about how they are sold. Here (ontario) they are sold in groups of five in a larger bag, by being sold in this way they can be freasher for longer and we can also get it in cartons here and in order to get it in juggs all I need to do is cross a river. I've never seen small bags of milk before.

For most of my time in elementary and middle school I only drank from small bags. And then in high school there was finally boxed juice and milk.

I live in America and when i was in elementary school im 14 btw we used to have those bags you would poke a straw in. Everyone just thought it was because it was a cheaper option for schools.

The first commercial milk containers were bottles, and milkmen delivered them to people's doors every morning. Before that milkmen would transport the milk in churns and measure it out into whatever jug the customer had available.

Here in Ontario we do have cartons. I've only seen jugs for soy milk. BUT ITS SO FUN TO PLAY WITH MILK BAGS OUT OF THE PACKAGE

I'm a Canadian from Ontario Canada and I have never seen a jug/gallon of milk. All we get is 4L bagged milk and cartoned milk but in smaller portions, 2L. I've really never thought much about it or cared really. Now I saw this video lol!
