The changing of the seasons is a perfect time to do some basic maintenance on Claudine. Between work and family obligations I've put it off long enough, but with the upcoming air bag transformation, she needs an oil change, her front rotors replaced and brakes and hoses done before I strip out her suspension and put her on bags.
Replacing rotors on a 1979 Lincoln Continental is not the simple task most modern cars are accustomed to. It's a lot more messy and smelly. After the rotors and brakes and hoses, I'll bleed the brakes and get her to an alignment shop. Then it's "bag time!"

Thanks for sharing some knowledge. I have a 79 Lincoln Town Coupe and it's hard to find videos or info on repairs for it. I'm replacing the bearings on mine and I'm glad I came across your video.

From an alternator off the 5.0L swap in the old 92 Exploder when I did an underdrive pulley swap. Kept it for just that purpose because new rotors on that old truck meant new wheel bearings...👍🏼😏😉

👀 Those wheels really look like you spray painted space saver spares purple... Even those stamped Honda motorcycle rims would look better... Good brake video, not much rust to deal with. Stay super 👍

Hello @Skaggs Garage. I'm about to replace my Rotors on my Lincoln same year 79. Question: Did you have to buy the bearings separate or did they come with the Rotors. My Rotors came with no bearings when it says that inner bearings are included. I got my Rotors from O'Reillys. Thx. Claudine looks Amazing 👀😎🔥👍🏼

Harv! Thanks for watching! Yes, I had to buy the bearings separately. Usually the rotors have the inner bearing races installed, might have been mis-advertised. Also, spring for the Timken bearings or USA made if you can. Preciate ya! 💯
