As you cruised by Port Everglades, it brought back some fond memories. Back in spring '86, I was stationed on the Navy aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67). After being at sea for a couple of months, we pulled into Port Everglades for a week during Spring Break. We had a ball during that week in port. Since this is a 'family' channel, I won't go into detail about just how much fun we had in Ft. Lauderdale during spring break, especially after being out to sea for 70+ days.

Cruising the ICW in FL is full of wonderful sights, beautiful homes, and large yachts. I made 2 trips into Port Everglades on my ship.

10 and a half minutes into this video you commented that what you saw looked maybe like an older hotel being renovated. In fact you were looking at the Miami Mandarin Oriental Hotel, a beautifully elegant hotel where my wife and I stay for a while each winter. Sadly, it is being demolished , closing to patrons next spring, and a new 70 story condo as well as a new Mandarin Oriental will be built with completion several years out. It is situated on Brickell Key, an island only accessible over a gated bridge to residents and hotel guests. I have been following you since you were hunkered down in Hammond-we boat out of Chicago and will be headed off in our boat to Michigan and then Wisconsin starting Sunday. We could never do what you two do so I enjoy your adventures vicariously.

Rest assured that you DEFINITELY provide value! We have no intention of ever doing the loop, but I love doing it vicariously with Loopers on You Tube…and even more important, there is always SOMETHING new to learn about cruising, anchoring, mooring, docking, or just boat life in general. So thank you for your content, and keep at it! BTW, I love how you start off the episodes in the morning and need time (and coffee!) to get your act together. 😂 ☕️ (Oh, and kudos for doing ‘your loop, your way’ …the Bahamas is an option, not a requirement)
