Big Up's to Finn for taking so much care of the family and handling so much of the daily cooking! What a responsible, and caring young bloke!!! Good job Finn !!!
Just can't get over how wonderful and beautiful your children are! Tell Archie once he deals with a tooth infection, everything else is "smooth sailing" - so to speak.
Love joining you in your journey. I have watched every episode for the last year. Great family and beautiful footage. Who needs a TV when I have families like yours to follow. Thank you for sharing. Wish I was with you.
Enjoyed this glimpse of the SwS family at sea. Your regular hand steering sessions are surely a good policy, having the double purpose discussed. Lovely at 5:40, and a good dolphin show! Sail travel definitely useful for understanding astronomy. The Bocas Del Toro anchorage must be a fine place, as I know a great family who's been staying there for a year. Congrats on completing the passage, have a good time!
The dolphins!!! So amazing! I’m curious if you guys still get sea sick very often? We went on a cruise a few weeks ago and my husband wondered if you guys were near us. Turns out you would’ve been very close! I love watching and dream of sailing. Its that sweet voice at the end for me! 😍😍🌊🙏🏻🙌🏼
Great video and remember that they have some very rare dartfrogs on the island that would be nice to see and make a brilliant science project for the kids
Wonderful watching you guys... If you have fresh garlic on board you can use it for tooth or gum pain...slice piece of garlic put son salt on it then put it on the gum with the problem tooth use some cotton to keep it there for a few hours .. hope it helps
Every full-time sailor should keep Metronidazole, a common brand is Flagyl. It’s an antibiotic that's used to treat a wide variety of infections and is great for a toothache.
The interesting thing is, Rudolph Diesel was actually kind of a greenie. He wanted to design an engine that would serve independent artisans and decentralized businesses, and promoted the use of biofuels, which his engine, the most efficient heat machine even still in 2024, was capable of utilizing. His early life was so poor, he spent his first nine months being cared for by a French family. Most folks don't know much of the history of the man whose name is probably the most famous in the world, being inscribed on every "Diesel" fuel pump.
Thank you for another great (edited) video. Just wondering if you have ever seen the "green flash" at sunset while out at sea? I saw it several times while I was in the Navy and Merchant Marines. I worked up on the bridge in both, so I wonder if being so high off of sea level helped with this.
Possibly the height helped. We’ve had two incidents where we’ve watched the sunset together and only one or two believe they saw the flash while the others disagreed. So how many people need to witness it or can it be seen more easily by everyone if it’s a ‘true’ green flash?
Good question! It was by default… salt water & no hair brush - his hair naturally did this unkempt look and now we just maintain it with more salt water and no hair brush 😂
Yes, travelling and crewing are themselves great adjuncts to regular education. This is especially true of maths, biology, and geography. My kids also became fluent in Spanish, French, and Portuguese, both during port visits, and by corresponding with kids they met. They did miss team sports, though. We enrolled in a remote learning version of the IB programme, which was academically challenging, but allowed each to progress at his/her own pace in each subject. You seem to have some self-driven ankle biters too, so they should sail through school. (Groan 😅).
Another wonderful episode! The family are amazing! I see on the boom the sign ❤=✝️ so does this mean you are a Christian family? I’m getting mixed messages though cos I see the Hindu string bracelets on your wrists The only protector you need is Jesus Christ not anything else! Blessings Nick
Another lovely episode. 🩷 I never want them to end, and I am always looking forward to the next one. And as I have said before, I like the authenticity in the videos, not being too scripted or perfect, but just natural.
