I live in Bahria Town Rawalpindi. It is even better than this. It's population is also huge, about 100,000+ people. It holds almost 1/10th of the whole of Rawalpindi city's population, yet it remains soo clean, lush and beutifull mashallah. We had to shift here due to our house falling in earthquake 2005.

It´s very likely this city will have permanent enclosed walls, fences and checkpoints, or do you think that the investors would want any poor people and street vendors to get in and sell their products there? lol This is a privately owned city, that has the intention of attracting foreign investors and people like me of pakistani parents, born, educated and raised in the west, but I definitely wouldn´t want to live there. They have something similar in lsrael and while it´s based on racism against palestinians, this is another form of discrimination against lower classes. Many of my family members have the same shitty class mentality and it´s not islamic at all.

For the record I am certainly not against building smart cities like this, and I wish many similar projects would come into fruition, because I want the best for the people of Pakistan. It´s just the execution of the project I disagree with, and I am almost 100% certain this smart city like others in the future will be walled/fenced with checkpoints ect. and I am not a fan, because the nature of that is de facto the exclusion of other people. Sure, there are similar cities in other countries, but that doesn´t mean Pakistan should copy those. If Pakistan should copy something it should be the insitutions of lets say Germany or Turkey, which is culturally close to Pakistan. Both countries are very anti-corruption, and their educational- and healthcare systems are superior to that of Pakistan.
