Tremendous to see you back on the road after what has been a painful period of time, I have missed both you and Doogal but most of all I have missed the mirror HELLOOOOO
For a small and lightweight caravan, I think it’s fantastic- and looks great. I’ve tried the D4-4 and agree about the specification and quality. I got used to the single front window but would prefer side ones as well. Didn’t miss curtains - like the clean and modern style, but appreciate that won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. Have a fab time in it!
What a nice looking caravan. When I first saw the length of the A frame I was rather surprised. But then I quickly realised that it would contribute to being a stable caravan to tow. Well equiped. I could enjoy that. Also looking forward to your round Britain tour of steam trains. What could be better? Caravans, lovely countryside scenery and steam trains? And a pleasant host to take us along. A couple of years ago I visited Grosmont at just the right time to see Tornado pulling a train in from Pickering. Also loved the engine sheds there. Then I went (to the next village) and had a pint at the Aidensfield Arms and a look around Scripp's garage. It was a wonderful last day to my short trip to England.
Hi there..so pleased to see you in your rightful place back on the road..take care and enjoy enjoy enjoy...dougal may even smile by the time you've finished..🐾🐾❤❤xx
Lovely that Bailey stepped up to help again, kudos to them. I bet this Discovery reminds you somewhat of your old ABI Adventurer! Love these caravans, though I agree with your comment about the front window.
Excellent vlog and great that you are out again. I love your Here We Tow hoody, you’re so cool to show your support for them. I love both your channels. 😍
I’ll be interested to see if that unicorn window grows on you. I fancy this van myself! Great to see you back! On track! With your mascot! Handsome Dougal! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Another helpful, informative and well presented "First Thoughts" review. The more of them l watch, the more l'm learning which is a big help towards taking the plunge hopefully soon. Cheers Andrew.... and Dougal of course! 😊👍
Glad it was helpful Mo! Maybe come along to the Caravan Show at the NEC in February to see everything all together? I'll be there ;) I'll be talking about that on my channel in January.
Looks a nice tidy little van, had many happy holidays in the in laws ranger 460/4. Hopefully we'll spot you at the bucks railway museum steaming days on your travels!
Dougal doesn't care. 🐾 That said, I'm 167 cm, so I'd probably put my pillows to pad the ledge, put my head at that end, and use the tall window to look at the stars as I go to sleep. But it is a nice caravan for 1-2 people.
Agree about the window, either do away with the high part and make one large (wide) one or fit the extra two like the Phoenix and big brothers. Like the sort of denim look feel to the upholstery. The offset strap at the back irks me somewhat, but there we go.
Fantastic video Andrew - as always. It was your Bailey Orion video years ago where I first found you. Can't wait to watch your adventures in this great little caravan.
Great to see you back "On the road again". Looking forward to some classy videos. I think I know what Dougals thinking. "Well, its not an Airstream. Is it? It'll do for the short term but....maybe it'll grow on me too".👍🖖🏴🏴🏴
So please for you Andrew, back out on the open road touring again, agree with you on the front window, looking from the outside the decals give the impression there is a wider outlook but other than that it’s a lovely little caravan and I do like the awning that goes with it 👍👍😎
Oh... I've seen that little caravan somewhere recently (Monday). I won't say where, but I'm sure you will confirm it in future vlogs. It definitely stands out onsite. I wish I had known it was Dougal and yourself, I would have come and said hello 🙋♂️
Great to see you both back on the road, the van looks good too - a good looking light weight alternative to the Swift Basecamp but perhaps a little more sophisticated 😁👍 can't wait for the steam trains 😍
Thanks for another interesting video. I think Dougal is just contemplating whether he wants a couple of weeks in the caravan or whether he prefers his home comforts????? If you are looking for a great steam journey have a look at the West Somerset Steam Railway from Bishop's Lydeard to Minehead. A lovely trip, stop off at Watchet a picturesque harbour and onto Minehead. Mainly GWR loco's and about an hour and a half journey, but I could be wrong. Can't wait to do it again. Looking forward to the next video.
Wow, you're back with a bang Andrew, in a really good way! What an amazing caravan, I'm going to Lee Davey's channel now to watch the review with an EV, as that's what I really need to know as an EV owner. You need to try out an EV next my friend! Great video, many thanks, can't wait to see the steam engine videos too!
Yay, you get to go! That's super, Andrew. Must say that some of the video this time is jerky and kind of crazy-making, and your commentary is not your best (uh, yeah, uh, and, uh), not your usual perfection. But it's great to see more info about new caravans, and it's great to see you out and about. Love the large front windows of Europrean caravans, but two things ... 1. I agree with you about the odd vertical window vs. a much more desirable horizontal window ... and 2. who wants to sit and look out their front window at their truck?! Canadian builder Escape Trailer Industries puts the dinette/living area in their 21-foot-classic model at the BACK of the trailer, where most of us would be sitting when we back our trailer up to a loch, or a mountain, or the valley view, or a river, etc ... the prime view is out the back of the trailer/caravan ... not out the front where you sit and look at your tow vehicle, yuk. A taller faucet in this Bailey unit would be lovely. All that being said, this caravan feels wonderful, it feels new, and I suspect it will feel new for years to come, the appointments are exceptional. Pleated blinds that come UP from the bottom! And a proper hob! Lots of electrical outlets (way more than by USA builders). Ah, but why wouldn't every cabinet have positive catches/closures? Battery weight in the floor is great, but why not put the batteries in a storage box on the front A-frame so there is no concern about battery off-gassing INSIDE the trailer (it's a health issue). Now, ALL of that being said, this trailer/caravan is impressive. If it were offered in the USA, I'd be tempted. I sure wish USA manufacturers would get a clue. More, more, more, Andrew! :-) As long as Dougal approves. :-) Thank you. Let's go to Scotland!
