I used to fish the aqueduct all the time back in the mid eighties. Was stationed at NAS Lemoore navy base.Used to go west on 198 until I hit the duct then either go north or south along the duct.Never used live bait, always used bass lures and caught a bunch of those stripers.I always walked on the sloped sides and they are steeper than they appear in your video.Amazed I never fell in.
Hay friend : all of those places you fished that my old place I has been fished since 1988 up to now, back than I just take an hour or 2 enough to come back home, but now it take all day long I'm not get any fish at all, I did seen you pass by some time in this year 2023, good skill 👍👍lol .
In the past it was always on fire but now its more of a seasonal thing. Its much different now since the water is so regulated now and the flow affects the fishing.
You’re right man, it’s always a nice change of pace. I don’t tournament fish, but sometimes it is nice to bait and wait. I’ll join y’all on the tournament side eventually. Been saving for a better yak!
Mr. Damian . . . Looked like a fun and chill day of fishing. Seemed, at times, you needed to prep another rod in order to get a bite. I'm glad the other angler was able to get his rod back . . . I thought you were going to throw your A-Rig out to help him snag / retrieve his rod. I was wondering what you were going to do if you hooked a keeper; use crab net from the bridge to net it or take a stroll to the end of the bridge and down the bank of the aqueduct to land it . . . you answered that question 😜. I hope that keeper ate well for you and your family / friends 😋!
It's always whem im not looking at the rod or occupied with something else is when they bite lol. I pulled the A-rig rod out to try to help him snag it back. Later i pulled out another rod that had a 3oz sinker and i put a treble hook on it to try to snag it back but failed. I usually bring a crab net when I go with some freinds but since im solo, makes it hard to use the crab net. My parents were happy with the keeper lol
Man I miss living down in California I’m from Bakersfield ca and I used to fish right outside of Bakersfield in tupman some good ass fishing now I live in Missouri
Aug 23, 2023 The CA Dept of Water Resources publishes a series of maps detailing 16 access spots where you can fish the Aqueduct. I went to the (#3) Orestimba, (#4)Cottonwood Road, and (#5) Canyon Road sites. They were all posted: "Government Property- Keep Out," "No Trespassing, "No Parking." No one was fishing at any of these spots. There was no confusion. I was at the sites on the CA DWR maps. What's up? I made a 4-hour round-trip from the Bay Area. Hoping a local with experience can set me right.
It’s posted government property on all of the aqueduct. You can go inside just don’t drive on it. Also don’t go into the flood gated. I fish cottonwood all the time too. You can park your car on the side, just make sure you don’t block the gate entrance because security needs to drive through. Message me on Facebook messenger and I’ll give you a good list of spots for you to fish on the aqueduct. Sorry you had that experience on the aqueduct.
@@dthao92 I don't use Facebook, but many thanks for the fast reply and info! Strange . . beautiful day today, not too hot, but nobody was fishing any of these spots between 9 and noon.
If you're chopping anchovies in half the body get bit more often than the tail but the tail stays on longer. If you get a bag of chovies that have eggs in them they are gold. I would say one other thing but forget that nobody does it enough it hasn't caught on yet thank god.
My buddy took me to his "hot" spot near the pump by Bethany. He swears by that place and has sent me photos proving his catches. I've gone with him 3 times now and have been skunked every time. I think it's based on your timing and luck rather than the location.
Every part of the aqueduct is a hit or miss. One day you will go and have nonstop action and the next day no bites. Just got to get lucky and hopefully the schools run through on the day that you are out
He’s definitely the fish whisperer 😂 but do y’all know, the secret to my secret in fishing 🎣. It’s call sleep all day r the river bank and then head to Costco and catch a big one, before I head home. This way my wife would think I’m an excellent fisherman. 😂 😆 😝
Its in Los Banos on Hilldale road. There is a lot of other bridges in Los Banos that you can park your car and fish on top of. Just got to find the low traffic ones or where the road is a dead end road.
Where are you located at the aqueduct? I’m in Lancaster and taking my son in the morning. I have only done trout fishing and i have not done that in 5 or six years. Turners helped me get what I need for the most part but I am not so sure about it yet.
It's off of Hilldale avenue After the 5 freeway in los banos, just go up 152 til you pass the 5 freeway then turn on hilldale avenue go til you find that bridge, it's not hard and not a hotspot it's hit and miss. Since it's summer it's a grass land, Good Luck
It's on Hilldale and Hwy 152. Ive seen people bring thier kids but bridge is quite high up so just dont let them get close to the railings. The road has very low traffic and you can hear or spot a car coming from a long ways.
Aye bro you videos are awsome me and some of my buddies wanna take a trip out there to fish was wondering if you could help me out with a couple of good spots
I watched you cut up your bait at the beginning of your video and you threw the head/best part into the water😢 try just the head hooked thru the eyes you'll be surprised
It's on Hwy152 and Hilldale. turn on hilldale and go all the way down. there will be a bridge there will no traffic. Good spot for kids to catch some stripers but make sure you get there early cause its usually always full. Good luck out there bro
I replied to you other comment with the location but It's on HWY 152 and Hilldale. I went a few times with a buddy there and he was in a wheelchair. Easy access for anyone who can walk and just want to fish. Go early cause it can get really crowded
Puas yog mas….your cap said Pline. That brand sucks ass I lost a big fish this last weekend 12lbs line…..never again I was only trying to catch red tail surf perch no more then 3lbs. Also feels like a Tuesday you calling in sick and went fishing.
Yep, im Pline, Ive had bad experience with every fishing line brand out there. Theres a lot of variables when it comes to line break, ive had good fish break me off on Sunline, Seaguar, Pline, etc. Dont recall what day it was but probably a monday or tuesday. Fishing is my work now so if you see a video, that means i showed up for work lol.
