What kind of knot are you using to tie your leader to the gamakatsu bead hook? I lost a fish the other day, and I think the teeth of the fish was slowly cutting the egg loop knot I used. I used an egg loop knot to get the right hook angle, and also be able to easily switch over to bait if I want/need. Thoughts?

I typically also tie a standard egg loop on most hooks. I have not had an issue like that. Interesting..

Why don’t bobber doggin floats give a specific maximum weight size

That's a good question. Most manufacturers mark them, small, medium, large. I think it is mostly due to the fact that the amount of weight you drag, is always dependent on current flow. I find that I am changing weight multiple times per day, so I probably, more times than not, run a medium weight float..

Because you don’t have to match the weight you can tick 1/4oz on a large float it’s just an indicator

Think about it like this when a steelhead slams your bead in fast water do they really care about the resistance of the float no they don’t they’re already hooked and jumping when you reel Down

@@FishHuntNorthwest it’s essentially trolling your stuff down the river and when it slams or does the classic bounce bounce bounce like it’s getting slammed by a huge trout reel down and swing it’s just an indicator for what your setups doing down there. I like to run a big float because it tows your gear better and keeps it from snagging vs if you ran a torpedo float it’s getting sucked under every time that lead hits.

Out Thursday evening show is always LIVE. We have had some tech issues as of late, so we have had to record and then load up. We are hopeful that tomorrow night, we are actually back LIVE!!
