By far the best design I have seen on RU-vid for a bait tank filter/aerator. Can you please share how you got the pvc coupler to fit so loosely on a dry fitting?
iam using 4" same design, 360GPH bilge pump stand pipe setup. I cant weem to get enough return on the stand pipe unless its a little taller thanthe pump
If you are using 3/4 pvc you will have to add a small skimmer hole. ( drill a 1/2 in hole at the water line) this will ensure enough water for the pump. I had to go to 1” on the stand pipe to get enough flow.
Above the material. It works best if it is right at the water line to skim anything off the top of the water into the filter. We he pump will still pull it up the stand pipe. This is just to make up a little water flow and clean the top. It is a cheat to get enough water into the pump to keep it from running dry
@@Herring-Impaired thanks. I have been doing some experiment. I am using a 1/2 standpipe about. 2 to 3 in above the top of the pump.and 2 ea 5/8 hole just above filter and water level at least as high as sandpiper or higher
Water is pumped out of the pipe and then it refills from gravity. The water is sucked from the bottom to fill the bigger pipe back up after the pump drains the pipe.
