After watching your how to fish a jig video I did what you said and just took jigs and trailers for the jigs and after 4 days of jig fish in caught a 9.1 lb largemouth bass on my hometown lake (caddo lake) in louisiana and just wanted to thank you for the content you put out there. Keep doing what you do flukemaster and me to putting that content out.
Fishing is a hobby so you're going to have to spend money to have fun usually! And in my case I'm a fishing RU-vidr so I have to spend money on cameras and other camera accessories and fishing stuff! $$$ and guess what I'm not even big enough to start making money on RU-vid only 182 subs!
Biggest bags are usually caught in June because they’re grouped up but would disagree that they don’t move in July. I feel like they move off of those deep ledges when the temps get up hot after the post spawn and get onto offshore but shallow areas and or structure
Pretty sure I saw you this afternoon on the lake. By the time I realized it you were heading back in. Love all the good tips and tactics. Keep em coming.
Great video Flukemaster, thanks for all the knowledge you've dropped over the years! Got back into fishing this year after many years away since I was a kid. Watched a ton of your old videos this winter waiting for the cold weather to go away. Much appreciated Sir.
Hey Gene, Thank you. I’m a 34 year old who started getting into fishing seriously this year (pan fished as a kid, but nothing in depth). I was looking for a way to stay outdoors after hunting season. You have helped me select gear, learn new techniques, and find fish. It’s been a great year of learning. In your videos, you use some geological terms that I’m unfamiliar with… “humps,” “points,” “drop offs,” “grass lines” (and types of grass), etc. These seem fairly self explanatory but details would be great. Could you do a video that details the different terrains, how to find terrains, and what lures/bait to use in different terrains? What terrains should we avoid and when? Thanks! Tony
Love these! Been fishing my whole life but just recently picked up bass fishing....don't know how bad I wanna fish anything else now! These videos have been a huge help. Especially the jig Video recently, I've been dragging through muggy crap with no luck. But I watched it went out the next morning and smashed them!
Gene you the man. Can we get Agust's bait recommendations before August? Give us a bit more time to order and receive our stuff. Love your videos thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Hey Gene, another great video, thanks! I know summer in Georgia is a lot hotter than summer in Chicago. When you give tips on fishing in July in Georgia, are they still good for Chicago in July? I mostly fish for largemouth in urban lagoons and ponds, and smallmouth in the harbors, all from shore.
His Kayak looks like an aircraft carrier, spot lock and thousands in electronics. Even anchor system is high end. With ALL that who can't have a smashfest? I kayak fish and have none of it. I do just fine. I'd literally catch 100 fish an outing with live scope etc.. Not sure why it bothers me but gosh damn.
I KIND OF agree, it seems to get away from what kayaking is when you have 3-5K with of electronics on board and half a dozen rods. At that point you might just get a johnboat and have more room.
Man I love my Yak & love fishing in it but there's getting to be SO MANY that when I'm running 30-50mph in my bass boat I have to really watch close, no distractions so not to hit them. Had a guy & girl laying out flat tanning on 2 Yaks last week made me really rethink just keeping mine in creeks/rivers.
I live in the High Desert of Southern California... Summer dead heat of the day I throw smaller glides like an S Waiver or all white spinner bait with paddle tail trailer. But I fish a clear water reservoir. At night or dirty water I go for the chatter bait.
I want to add a lure you completely forgot to add to the list. The big worm. The Culprit 10" and Zoom ol monster 10.5" worms and magnum trick worms catch me really nice fish pitching cypress trees and fishing around deep structure in the summer. The only real reason i use both brands is because of the color variations honestly.
I been fishing the Hill i won again last weekend i love the Hill the bass is tough for a lot of people i was raised fishing it...I have question can you fish in them Kyak tournments in one of them little boats with the trolling motor built in i dont see no difference just more stable..They only 10 feet long they smaller than prolly what you have..I hate you moved from fishing the Hill i been watching you since the beginning i always look for local fisherman on youtube
I was just wondering i been thinking of buying me one to fish my huge pond i got a pond like a lake its neibor hood pond with a creek running through middle i stocked it with 5 to 10lbers i put the state record spotbass in there i had caught on Russell...I thinking of selling baits i may send you some to hammer them out there hahahahahaha I told my son we could make videos at pond looks just like the lake with docks all way around it hahahahhahahaha
What kind of recommendations do people have for really dirty water with lots of mud and vegetation on the bottom. My area has very shallow water and gunk everywhere
Same here, but i'm 5' 11" and use a 7' 3" rod. I fish out of a kayak most of the time and i never have issues walking a frog or spook or fluke, or any lure really.
Gene, any tips on fishing thick lily pads? My Sportsman’s Club lake is just polluted with lily pads. Any advice would be appreciated. The bottom of the lake is grass & silty.
