Another Faction has appeared and this time it's Bajor! While @everyone is excited about a new faction (right? RIGHT?!) we still have to figure out: how do we unlock it? What do we do? WHAT ARE ALL THESE CURRENCIES? (DRINK!). Today's Star Trek Fleet Command goes over all the basics for you including recruiting the DS9 officers!

They need to reduce the older grinds in the game when they introduce yet another huge grid when you don't do them all the feeling of being left behind makes so many quit the game

Completely agreed!! Can't wait till the end of the month when we get Faction Hunt, on the same day as Incursions for EU servers and habe an hour of grinding Jem'Hadar too, add in dailies and any events that come with incursions and you'll have 6+ hours of game time to finish it all. Complete and utter p*ss take!

Personally disagree. I don't think you need to do everything all the time. Choosing where to spend your time among many options is good, in my book

@@AnOminous1 Exactly. You don't need to mine everyday, you don't need to grind hostiles everyday, you don't need to do armadas everyday. Pick something a day and focus on that and you're set for days if not weeks. Perfect example of that is the Amalgam loop. An hour or less of supply ship grinding and you're set for weeks.

Rev, I followed your advice and got the rep and directives every day and because everything got expensive I can no longer get defiant bps. Tyvm for this good advice. For people just starting or watching this: DO NOT get rep advancement every day! every thing is much easier to get in lower rep. Complete your defiant bps, low rep stuff THEN get rep advancement, there is no going back on rep!

BTW Rev, the quest is gated by ops level 35, so lower levels cant do any of the bajoran rep stuff

I did the quest at level 33 and the store appeared with the 50 rep, but it is empty and says, "I don't have anything for you right now, check back later." On top of the 3rd grade lesson in bad punctuation, it would be helpful if the message said something like, "Check back at level 35." Thanks again, Scopely for making something unnecessarily complicated for sub-35 players.

I kind of like this but it is just one more thing we need to grind while content does not change much. Gotta grind for franlin and other ship parts, reputation, actian, borg, eclipse, bajoran plus gotta figure out how to run plus trying to mine materials such as ore, crystal, gas, iso ... it replaces fun with mindless and time consuming activities.

More grind = more screen time. I really like the mechanic but it would be greatly appreciated if Scopely would honour it's previous commitment about screen time. For the current events, yes, it's not unreasonable to do the triple pulls. That's ok over the course of a new arc but I don't think it's sustainable when one is already trying to do rep grinding, etc and so on. Thinking I'll be camping at 41 a bit longer and max out all my Bajoran researches.

I'm debating calling it quits for that exact reason. Level 43 now so competing with everything upto 49 in leaderboards so that's not happening. Dailies, events, missions and now Jem'Hadar grinding, its many hours a day!! Can't wait till Faction Hunt at the end of the month, 4 hours of grinding on the same fecking day as incursions! Nah, I'm done.

I am in the same boat. Had 9 mill in power with all 3 star epics. I had a mix of all 3 factions. I can easily take the 35s but the 40s kick my tail.

@@GA-uc2um Crewing was correct, and with credits being limited, it's not like you could really test if you wanted to. I was also cloaked on 2 ships, and supported on one of them. As well as a 165% exo running. As a level 37 player, the level 40s are hard, there needs to be something in between the 35 and 40. I don't want them to buff the 40s, just need something in between.

My first look at the Bajoran faction screen almost made feel the way I did when I first started playing STFC. It can be a bit confusing and the learning curve a bit steep. Not that I can't eventually figure it all out but I don't always have that kind of time. Thanks Rev. You're always there to help and I greatly appreciate it.

Couple things. Let’s hope the favors factor into all the events that care about power gain. Second I think the most important favor to start with is the loot bonus. Grinding 45 minutes a day is a big investment. If you can get that down it would help this a lot.

Grinding an hour a day for the directives (on top of dailies & events/missions) then you've got 3 times the repair cost with no help of a power boost from an alliance whale and the rewards are woeful at best.

I guess I am lucky. I can grind the lvl 49 system and fill up my Ktinga's cargo in 15min, do a triple pull of the hostile loot to credits, and choose what to do from there. So far, the grind is barely a blip on my playtime, and for that I am grateful.

One disappointing thing is the efficiency favors only work for buildings. There isn’t any for research or ships.

@@bash83845 I think the favors are powerful. The level 1 of most are large increases. The loot bonus is +50% for example. That means a normally 45 minute grind would go down to 30. That’s a big improvement.

too bad at level 35 I took my 3 strongest ships - Enterprise, Saladin, and Centurion, with my best Armada crews - and only took the Armadas help down by half and lost all my ships. So, just another thing that us mid level players can't do. Thanks again Scopely, feeling the love as usual.

I have defeated the 35's no problem with a t4 augur, maxed sali, and maxed bortas, using loot crews on top of that. Have lost one ship once, other times have pulled through with all 3 ships alive. Not sure how people with bigger 34 epic ships are losing in less it is a case of poor crewing.

Impressive video, Rev! Way to get it in under 10 minutes. There's definitely a lot here but I'm sure it'll settle into a pretty useful loop once we get to know it and become more comfortable with it. I like the fact that it's pretty self-contained and players not only get to choose what pathway they can take but also that they'll get out as much as they put in without needing to (necessarily) pay for packs. It may be another grind, but it's fair grind that - other grinds notwithstanding - shouldn't take a lot of time.

I like that your description puts the reward linked to my efforts, the big problem is that with everything else it's a lot. I'm already falling way behind on stuff, I can't mine lat, data, iso. I don't have time to grind for rep, or hunt scouts. Now I won't be able to do away mission with having to supply 3 ships for armada, hostile, swarms, Kardashian armada, that's every good officer I have. That leave just the worthless officers left.

I am going to focus on one or the other (Credits or Rep) based on need. Right now the need is credits to get the favors and when the favors need a higher rep I will focus on rep. Other than the grind I love this new faction and all that is behind it. Good job Scopley!

Thanks as always. Good addition to the game and nice rewards. Not much of a grind I must say on 36 for a full pull (loot officer helps 😏) - and ofc no reward with no invest so ppl should not expect to get all fancy stuff without invest. Plan you grinds over the week and u don’t need to do it every day - or just miss out a day … the world will not end if you miss sth 😏

For all the talk about "one uncommon a day" from this loop, you can only do that if you completely ignore buying rep or credits using the badges. So you can endlessly run uncommons, or advance in the faction, or buy credits for the favours. You can't do all three, at least not reliably. That's a problem. Especially when a 3x chest pull from the hostile loot every single day from now on is just not gonna be a realistic thing for most people with everything else we're expected to do with limited time.

I'm going for the hostile and armada loot favours before I even touch rep or directives. Before you're strong enough to take on rares, armadas just seem like an inefficient way of getting credits.

And with the armadas can complete the event 52/53 opps need to take down lvl 53 uncommon armadas to reach the goal and I think you would need to beat 6 for the points needed of 1.5 mollion

Can't wait for Faction Hunt at the end of the month, on the same day as Incusrions for us on EU servers. Add in dailies and other incursion events and you'll be looking at over 6 hours game time to complete. Not reasonable in the slightest and certainly not a good thing!

Scopely is so determined to cater to whales. They thought they had it with the Cardassian armadas, but Gaila messed that up. These solo armadas are their response. You can only beat them with whale ships and crews that f2p folks have no access to.

150% of 0 uc is still 0 uc :D Scopelly should fix the minimum uc gained per pull, thats what really matters. Token systems shouldnt be shadowed, you want to see if there are free nodes before going in. Personally i'm going for credits first to be able to get the bonus armada credits asap. then i will start with getting the directives each day.

Solo Armada , why not make it into a 3 player Alliance armada Group with each player boosting one ship with a Cerritos. So the First player run 3 solo armadas and he boost 1 ship and his 2 other alliance players boost the other 2 ships. Then the second player runs his 3 solo armadas and boost 1 of his ships and the other 2 boosting his remaining 2 ships. And the third player does his 3 solo armadas with his alliance friends cerritos boosts.

I don't see rare armadas in my uncommon loot exchange. I know we are different ops lvls but don't say we get them when they are not there. My rep is the same as yours in the video tolerated, so that isn't the difference. So I have no way to get rare armada directives, thanks again scopely

Just a note Rev: Uncommon Loot Exchange and Epic Loot Exchange at lvl 38 have NO RARE OR EPIC directives. The Uncommon has no directives of any kind and Epic has only uncommon directives. So, it looks like the various directives may come into play at different ops levels.

Rev! I’m a level 35 player and only 8,500 power. I’ve tried everything for these solo armadas but can’t even make a scratch! What am I missing? Thanks so much!

You are probably missing sufficient power for the ships as well as proper crews. If you have a decently tiered G3 epic (Ent/Aug/D4) and maxed G3 uncommon ships with 3 solid armada crews, you might be able to survive. My alliance has suggested that you need at least 50% of the armada's power in ship strength. For my ships, I run an Ent with Riker as captain with Kirk and Spock. I run my Augur with Picard as captain with Beverly and O'Brien. Then I run a Centurion with a loot crew like Geordi as captain with 5 and 6. But, I'm ops 39 and you may not have more than one G3 epic ship. Of course, these aren't necessarily the best crew loadouts because there are armada officers that I don't have yet. Between all three ships, I come in at about 11 million ship power. My Ent barely takes any damage while the Augur is usually taken down to 50% and the Centurion often gets destroyed. If you got the right stuff, you can pull it off. But currently you are likely better off just grinding the hostiles until you can sink some rss into beefing up your ships. The armadas were originally intended for G4 players and higher then at the last minute decided to include G3 players.

Have done 2 unc 43 armadas and have 420k currency, one pull on the loot chest is 735k? So I’d need to do 4 unc lvl 43 to get one pull to get 175 rare directives and the do another 4 unc for another pull, that’s one rare every 8 days

Level 35 is minimum required? I’m at 32 and have completed the first few missions and earned 50 Rep. Currently working on mission “Defiant part 4” and can’t exchange antimatter. Am I just stuck acquiring these until I hit 35?

From what I've seen so far, doing armadas is only realistic if you have 3 ships with about 7M in power. I did an armada with 4.5M in power with armada crews on 2 of the ships and I barely did 10% damage to a Level 35 Uncommon armada....... I think Scopely forgot to mention the math behind that and I wasted 100 armada directives doing that

I am ops 35 and been taking down the solo 35's no problem with a 2.3m Augur, 1.7m Sali, and 1.4m Bortas. That is only 5.4m power. I even have one crewed with Gordi as captain for max loot. Other crews are 5/6/kahn and DS9 crew. I have only lost a single ship once, and the other 2 runs had all three ships survive.

@@CapitalRideShare Try 5/6khan over kirk spock. These solo Armada's seem to hit harder then what Spock can regen, so that 5's mit boost, and 6's boosts to pen/accuracy/and armor piecing.

would love to learn how to crew the 3 ships to defeat the solo better, I have defeated unc 40 (40M power) no issue, but have a very hard time to do unc 43 (60M power)I have the Valdore, Max Enterprise and Jelly [power total 20M] (or Augur but the Augur is lower and does not have enough warp range to do level 43 unc yet) Thank you.

With this the Mantis on top of everything combined with the New Strike Team Meta required to compete PvP now i think they have just added way to much grind or pay. Scopely went full blown Ferengi during the Ferengi arc. I'm lvl 45 and i do spend around £300 a month. Even this is unsustainable for me. F2P have 0 chance which is the biggest shame of the last 6 months. It's just a game of research for maybe a potential upgrade until others complete it. Tell me.. What chance does a new player have?

I agree, while not f2p I am a small spender who is ops 35 and I find myself torn between doing this every day, the mantis every day, or working on faction grind. There is just not time for all three, my faction grind was slowed to a crawl already from the mantis with the apex spawns being broken. Not to even mention when the stocks on Alagam, Data, or Rogue supplies go low and I have to grind up a supply of them again. It really feels like Scopely wants to severely limit the content small spenders and F2P can do by gating it behind such long grinds that a lot of it cannot be touched.
