Finally @everyone knows how the Mantis will be sourced Free 2 Play, and we didn't even have to wait until December! We'll discuss that but we also need to talk about these Bajoran favors. Which ones have value? Which aren't "as" valuable? That's the answer Star Trek Fleet Command fans are seeking so of course we're gonna provide it here!

Completely agree on the favours, anything that saves time or reduces costs is always a good focus. Not happy about the Mantis sourcing being included in incursions unless they plan on adding Pve scoring to the events because the PvP is terrible and hardly anyone participates so really hard to score.

Maybe it has been the servers that you are going up against. I have been able to find unshielded bases with ships docked and I just crash into it for PVP points, or find raids going on and crash/defend there.

It's the same on all the incursions my server has had so far. The APAC servers go pretty much dead, everyone relocates to low systems and takes the day off. I end up just sending a message to someone asking to meet me and splat ships for PvP. Scopely really didn't think it through, while the idea of incursions might sound good in theory, the PvP is terrible and raiding is completely unnecessary in this game so even the few that do participate mostly just do the bare minimum for the sms and then log off for the day.

They made the PvP so much easier! All you have to do is some hull damage. No specific system anymore, and miners count too, so you can just fly into an active system for mining and clear every ship. Then kill all ships floating around in swarm space. Do that, and your event is done. Key is to go over to the other server as soon as the event starts.

Love the optimism on mantis bps but given how things roll out, well, I'm thinking it's more like 5. Appreciate the path bit I don't see it being easy particularly considering how broken the hostiles have been

Glad they are gonna make a f2p path for the mantis but the systems are already busy. They need to allow more 2-3 apex spawn at a time, this would also prevent a system from being "broken" unless both or all 3 apex get stuck.

when I saw the news update about Mantis and Strike team being ties to incursion I simply accepted that I will not be getting the strike team officers past what I have now. Will not touch Incursion and throw up a 24 hour shield and forget the game exists. I love the bajoran faction options still iffy on having a research tree disguised as a faction store but we will see if this is a fun novelty or a new meta to shaft us all. I'm still having an issue with not being strong enough at 35 to destroy a 35 solo best I have reached is 1/3 hull and 3/4 shield drop with my faction 28 ships all popped and we are talking max Bortas with burning, T7 Centurian with morale, and T5 Saladin with hull breach. and don't have Picard or Sisco so can't use the typical listed crews. once I find a way to take one out I might actually be able to make headway with the bajoran faction store as it is I just Dominion grind for max pulls to get one rep gain and dump the rest into bajoran credits. it's a slow go but It doesnt look like the credit count goes up with rep so no motivation to go faster yet.

Incursions should not be used used the sourcing path for anything until scopley can competently match servers. As it is the are incapable of appropriately matching servers and until that is fixed, incursions should not be run, never mind used as sourcing for ANYTHING!

I’m betting the mantis rates will be comparable to all the bps available from cosmic cleanup. It takes 10 weeks to get the amalgam for example. So I would expect 3 runs of incursions to get the mantis. Depending on how it’s done also, it might be an sms with some bps on each milestone. Some players might not complete that sms so it would take them longer. I agree about the loot drop favor. Immediate benefit to your game time spent. Get it at level 1 and leave it there for later. 50% is a huge first level for it.

I took profit's tribute. Right now, I get more benefit from extra ultra tokens than solo armadas. The Press The Attack (Heroic SMS) punished me for succeeding at solo armadas. Even with max pulls of Hostile Exchange (lvl 39), I get only 1 reputation advancement, 100 Directives, and maybe (depending on how much left over from prior) 62 Bajoran credits. It is just so slow to advance without any means to progress faster.

As an admiral of a pve alliance disappointed they decided to tie the mantis to incursions. Most of my guys take the day off to let the people who like to pvp have their fun.

I am a bit late I guess, but good to see that you nearly have the same thoughts about which ones to get first. But I started with the daily 100 ultra recruits. Since I thought I take every additional ultra recruit container that I can get and the prize was relative low compared to the other upgrades. But I never made the math how many ultra recruit tokens you can get from events each month + free battle pass, if that really makes a big difference.

Once you buy level one, is it completely unlocked? As in can I save and buy levels 2-5 or does it re-lock at level 3 and I need rep or ops level for the remaining?

For the mantis itself it makes sense to have sourcing in a PvP mechanic like incursions. But it doesn't make sense for the mantis refinery, being a source for PvE officers... Maybe the sourcing is fast, but if it isn't a whole lot of players, who don't or barely do PvP, will miss out on officers which are particularly important to especially those players

I have found Prophets' Tribute to be very useful given I blew through all 60k ultra recruit tokens I had trying to pull the three 3 5 of 11 shards I needed to tier her up (and only got 1 shard of her due to insane pack dilution) so that 100 ultra's a day has helped me start to rebuild a stock again.

Materials trade route gives a decent reduction - reduces the total cost from ops 45 to 46 by 1000 rare ore, but probably grabbing the bajoran rep favour first, epic armada exchange is miles off my current rep level, and also want the next tier of armada loot buff.

Op46 here. Sooo glad to see you dissuade players from getting the Bajoran perks i am stacking. While you guys are touring "efficiency land" I'll be over here killing your 46 ships and baby G5 ships with my Ktinga that is buffed to the teeth with damage, hull, shield, +crit, etc type perks. Got a few of the efficiency ones too but the focus is winning now on the field as much as making "farmville in space" easier. Good video...glad to see the subject addressed. Serious question though... do you know of or expect Scopely to continue to offer some type of "Bajoran" pack in the store on ongoing basis?

I have a question regarding the Faction Store. I do not have any of the rare solo directives in my UC Loot Chest despite having run solo armadas since last Sunday (10/16/22.) I am currently at Gorilla Rep and there are no rare solo directives to be found in the store. Are the Rare's tied to rep?

Rares are tied to Ops Level. You have to be level 40+ to get Rares in the Uncommon chest.

I'm concentrating on Prophets Prize as these grinds are rapidly becoming a chore, anything I can do to cut down the daily grind is a benefit. Outlaws advantage is also welcome for me as, even as a level 42 I am only M39 LMAO. I can never seem to get enough Rare and Epic Uranium Pulls..

I said it in the last video, but it's not the players' job to convince scopely where they can make their money. It's Scopely's job to sit down and work out what will create the most fun and exciting game (and hence, financially engaging) for the players. Scopely could easily still make money off ultras, they just have to incentive redeeming them. So either make a pack that's worth the exchange, or run some SLBs. So what if everyone will have more tokens? It's still an even playing field with everyone having more to spend. Worst case scenario, people who worked hard to save a few extra tokens get a bit of extra benefit off a good pack... So what? Does Scopely really consider that to be the end of the world? Seems they do.

Could work, depends how they implementing scoring. So it being scopely, it will be baaaad. I hope the sourcing doesnt actually rely on PvP because all incursions except the first one have been duds for actual violence. They also really really need to sort out the mantis loop before everyone piles in because it already takes a silly bugger amount of time. And I disagree with you and DJ on the ultras, one or two SLBs for good officers would drain the reserves. It doesnt need to be a special way to deplete them before the SLB, just accept that the first one will be people blowing reserves and scopely can milk us on all the subequent SLBs. Given the state of the game they can afford to do one single bloody SLB to help the state of the game itself.

An unpredictable event store is not sourcing. We love having events we can count on, Swarm Sunday, Mining Monday, Cerritos Weds, why could we not have a Mantis Friday or something. The event store sourcing for Borg Infinitis skin is awful, Im thinking it may be a year before Mantis available via Incursion event store

Here’s my issue: Why was it so difficult and so hard to make the announcement that they intended to do event stores as part of incursions in the coming months and the mantis among other things was going to be part of that event store? They could have made that clear weeks ago. I get it that they didn’t want to say anything the first month during that arc so that people would buy the mantis instead of waiting till they could get it free, but then as soon as they pulled down the option to buy the mantis they could’ve made this announcement. They literally create and feed the negative sentiment among players by doing things in a way that is secretive or not thought through.

They really need to ditch the idea of the Apex hostiles in the actian systems being the main source of loot. Boost the loot on the other ships in there by like 500% then the Apex will be optional. This will avoid issues with overcrowding and Apex not spawning as we see now on my server

The Outlaws Advantage was the first I got. I save a pull of epic uranium when I max my Stella. Must have if you don't have prime Stella, as it saves two pulls of uranium. I'm glad they have announced the free path for the mantis, but not excited that it's tide to incursions. With my work schedule, I'm unable to participate in them till the new year when I go back to working Mondays to Wednesdays.

Your mocking of gamer whining is spot on. If more of us lived up to our threats it would improve game quality. I cannot enjoy incursions for several reasons including the P2W aspects of the game and the, IMO, terrible combat systems, and most importantly, the BUGS! To win PvP in this game it’s all about choosing targets you can beat. If scanning a target is very likely to cause your system to crash, it’s not possible to enjoy pvp. Finally, Rev, your plan is messed up. The more people you convince to use their stockpile of a currency, the more valuable having a stockpile will become for those who hold on. Players instinctively know this.

Grind grind grind grind…. This game is already a life suck….. I’m addicted and even though I hate incursions I haven’t been able to quit…. This time round though I’m missing loads of events as there simply isn’t enough time and I play hours a day. Very close to donating a few bill ress to my alliance and calling it a day as I’m falling behind some alliance members who spend a load, I only do the Battle Pass and was able to out play/level most but now seems you have to spend spend spend…

It only shows you the loot from one ship on the battle log; you need to check how much your loot changes in your inventory. It does work :)

chicken or the egg. people are hording ultras because there aren't any good events to spend them in, except SOMETIMES in BPs. So we horde them for that. The ranked daily event for ultras is pitiful for example. Provide more events that incent us to spend ultras; we will spend the ultras. no doubt. just do it scopely.

The numbers on the average Ultras went up because Scopely stopped running the Ultra spend events. All they need to do is restart them, and the numbers will drop.

Incursion is not fun and in facts it is stressful. Mantis BP should be sourced in different ways; and not tied to pvp only and nothing for pve.

I agree. Not everyone is set up well to play incursions. Some players don't have good PvP officers, and others like me have 20 billion or more in resources showing so we're not willing to risk losing it (and get our whole server angry) if we get attacked by whales with big Amalgams and suffer from lag trying to defend. Most of our server just moves to a 1-19 system and shields through incursions because nobody wants to be the one to lose it for their server because their base was open. My alliance even kicks people (with lots of warnings) if they don't respond and don't leave territory in time. We lose one or two players for good every incursion. I hate incursions.

Will they fix broken Apex before releasing the FTP Mantis? It's already a bad grind & adding in a lot more players fighting for Apex will make it unbearable.
