This should be posted all over the country and the world. You may never know how you touch someone's life in a positive way by simply dancing and wavy hello at a stranger. Bravo my brother and thank you for your service.
I lived down the street from that intersection. Years ago, I stopped to offer him a cold bottle of water. He was a very cool dude, and quite an interesting character. When my friends visited from overseas, he was one of the cultural icons (not many in Bakersfield) I had them see and meet. Good bye, my friend. We will miss you.
While living in beautiful Bakersfield , I remember seeing this man. He’d always put a smile on my face when driving by. My prayers are with his family and friends.
@@RafiEitan-dy3tw I agree, For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
This is what is called bloom where your planted. He didn’t just bloom, he planted an entire garden of love, fun and goodness on that corner in Bakersfield. May he rest in peace.
I don't live in Bakersfield but I know how precious it is for someone like the dancing cowboy to live out his calling I pray for the family in their loss and the community who love him as well. There is ,only a few people in the world who would make it their business to shed a little love laughter and sunshine in the world.
My apartment was just down the street from this intersection. He was a part of my every day, for years. Always bringing smiles. Even in the worst of times. One day I stopped to talk to him, and Josiah, (“guy with the hair” on RU-vid) who had a sign that said “You are loved”. Such a beautiful light. That corner will never ever be the same to me. I don’t even want to drive by there without him on it. 😭 my condolences and prayers go out to his family. He may never have known how loved he is or what a blessing he was, but … a lot of hearts break with yours in his loss. I’d love to know when his services are. I’d like to attend.
HE WAS A GODLY SPIRIT ----WORKING FOR YEARS----TO BRING---GOOD CHEER & SMILES----HE SAVED LIVES----CHANGED HEARTS-------DAILY-----TEARS ON MY FACE----------I NEVER MET HIM---BRONX, NYC
@@grant1739He suffered traumatic brain injury as a child. Did you miss that part? He was also paid to do what he did, so obviously the food outlet felt that there was value in what he did.
He made me smile so many times over the years. He was a shinig example of how a smile, joyous spirit and kindness can effect other poples lives. I saw him help many people cross that busy intersection. I will miss him.
Rest in peace. I remember this guy always working that corner always waving and smiling. I wish I had his level of energy. Definitely one of Bakersfields best.
He was a guest speaker and a real estate mixer and spoke about how much he loved what he did. This was about 13 years ago or more and I have carried his message with me thru life that it doesn’t matter what you do if you love what you do. I live by that till this day. The world lost a good soul and a man with a beautiful story. You will be missed 😢
He"s home with our heavenly Father...dancing for Him and loving every minute..thank you God for sharing this sweet man in our lives and bringing us joy...he will not be forgotten..blessings to all😊❤
I cannot tell you how hearing about "Priest" or as my son Keaton knew him "Dancing Cowboy" passing made us so very sad. He was a staple on the corner of Stockdale and California Ave. I took that drive just about everyday from the time my son was in preschool to 8th grade. My son would always looked for him. He was always dancing, twirling his signs, waving and smiling. We always smiled, waved, honked or even yelled "You are so awesome or Thank you!" He never failed to make us happy. He was someone we could count on being there no matter what. So seeing him was a comfort and happiness. We didn't see him as much when my son moved onto highschool because we didn't take that route. However if we happened to be in that area we were so happy to see him STILL on that corner twirling that sign and dancing. It set our world right. So I am completely sad our community lost someone as wonderful as our dancing cowboy. I hope his family know just how much he meant to people who were driving by lost in the hustle bustle of it all. He was a presence that just sparked a feeling of joy in that moment as we went about our day. Sending support to his family and all who will miss him dearly. 💔Thank you sir. Thank you Priest aka Dancing Cowboy.
Yea but he is causing to much sunlight to really pour out at 106 Degrees lately possibly 110 today Saturday and Sunday, but will accept it, as long he is resting in peace.
Man, talk about a true humble person, and sadly gone too soon. Prayers for him and his family. Rest in peace, and now you're making God and his angels smile up above. 🙏🏼✝️🕯🕊
Thank God for all the years Marques gave to the community. What an example of unconditional love and strength from his Lord. Hugs from Minnesota USA. ❤️
He was a wonderful human being, always lit up my day when i saw him. Bakersfield is definitely going to be missing a spark of vibrance and excitement now without him. 💔 Rest in peace 🙏 😭
What dedication the Dancing Cowboy had. This a person who choose to dance and be a free spirt to entertain people. Want to thank him for the laughter, smiles and years of making people happy. Little cears should place a statue of him and people should make a memorial with flowers, I’m not in the State are I definitely would. Thank you Dancing Cowboy
This is a trip... I've driven past him dozens of times, in my travels between family in the Bay Area and our current home in Arizona. RIP, dude... the Lord takes away some people way too soon, for reasons we can never fathom.
God said,no one considers, the dead are taken away from the evil to come, book of Isaiah, maybe something evil would have befall him, only God knows,he knows thinks that would happen to us before anyone else, may he rest until Jesus come and wake him up😢😢😢❤❤❤❤
RIP dancing cowboy. Wish more people could be like you. You looked so happy and loving life in this video. Thank you for sharing your light with those around you. Say hi to my daughter for me when you see her! ❤❤❤❤❤
So sad....I never saw him there, as I've lived in the Midwest since '04 (Bakersfield native, '64-'93 or so, KC native til '04). What a great person to have seen in one's own hometown. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and all of Bakersfield that saw him on the daily. Must have been a wonderful person.
What a free spirited beautiful soul of a man …. He definitely lived the way he wished too and that takes bravery and courage…. Much respect to his memory and those that loved him 🩶
Why not? He brought pure joy to the people in his community/city. The majority of people (in America) who have statues dedicated in their honor didn't bring this level of joy to everyone they came in contact with. He deserves a statue, or at least historical landmark sign at that intersection. with his story printed on it.
@@unclebrother6244I don’t know what historical figures you are referring but most saved our country and millions of lives. So maybe they didn’t put a smile on someone’s face doesn’t mean they’re not extremely important.
Never heard about this man. So young. RIP and thanks for all he did to brighten people's days. You could tell he loved what he did. Blessings to your family in this hard time.
We had a guy like this in my town. Always out and about. Always wore headphones. Always just ROCKING out to whatever was on his headphones. He'd smile and wave and shout joyously to passing cars. Everyone in town loved the guy- and that was before someone had the genius idea of getting him to hold a sign while he jammed. It's been a while now since I've seen him, no idea why he quit, but he was one of the best things about my town. So RIP Marquess. Guys like you get to take the express lane. Simon Peter is just going to wave you in.
My child loved him. During 08, he protected my child while we were there fighting prop 8. When we lived in the area, she always got him water or something. RIP Priest
GOD Bless His Soul Cares All Passed Home At Last Forever To Rejoice He Has Been Set Free And He Is At Total Peace🕊🕊🕊 ' GOD please comfort his family and friends '
This is the first I have heard of the Dancing Cowboy, as I never have been to Bakersfield!! This story brought smiles watching him dance and twirl the sign, and tears to hear he is gone so soon!!! RIP young man!!! God gained an angel!! Much Love, and God Bless Your Family!!
This news makes me so sad. I first met Mark back in the late 90s when I first moved to Bakersfield. I don't have a single bad memory of him and always remember him bringing happiness to all he met! Years ago he use to wear a Chinese hat which made him look like he came from the Wu-Tang Clan.... just remembered that.
What a cool guy and blessing to his Bakersfield community. He definitely looked like he enjoyed his job and was great at spinning that sign and dancing! I also liked hearing the beautiful words from his brother. To Marquez aka "Dancing Cowboy's" family, we hope you are surrounded with peace and kindness. Much love from Sacramento. ❤💚💜
Heaven gained an Angel….the world lost a beautiful soul. What a wonderful life he made for himself with the gift he had. To him, it was not about riches, it was about making someone smile and sharing the message of love. I pray you are dancing in Heaven and to your family left behind….cherish those memories.
I was a Bakersfield resident for 15 years and am very familiar with this intersection. I saw him many times dancing away and he accomplished his mission. RIP.
Sorry for your loss Bro. I am glad to see so many people on here acknowledging the good that your brother brought to the community. May he rest in peace...
Thank you God for his 47 years of life and him being a vessel you used to bring smiles and joy to so many people ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Rest peacefully in Heaven 🙏🏾
