It annoyed me that the only one who knew what she was capabale of, and didn't underestimated her, was Bakugou. Hell, her friends, classmates, even MIDORIYA didn't think she could last against Katsuki. It annoyed me even more that the watchers were booing Bakugou because he wasn't going easy on 'that poor girl'. Thankfully Aizawa set them straight
Honestly that was the moment aizawa became one of my favourite characters. And uraraka to be honest. I hated the crowd when they said "that poor girl" while the boys were battling to the death without hesitation, crowds cheering. Unless he put up a fight no one would see her full power and strength
Midoriya was scared about fact he knew what bakugou was like, but he still but he still saw me put it "a ray of hope" for her win so he maked a plan against bakugou ya know what i mean Edit: yes this "poor girl" makes me sick to she the one of strongest girls in 1 A just look for bnha films and manga
honestly. He even admitted it was close and that that attack could've been his defeat if he had been a bit late. This fight just increased my respect for aizawa and bakugou.
This was a amazing fight. Bakugo is so careful against Uraraka because he acknowledges her power. When he shot that huge blast, it is clear that he had to use one of his strongest moves at the moment or else he would've lost. He's clearly trembling after the shot, showing the damage it did to him. It's just amazing.
Saaba or if you watched the anime or read the manga, he was actually trying and admitted it was difficult to defeat her. she may not have his psychical strength but i’m sure her will to fight is pretty equal to his

I think the crowd booed on purpose to prove a point. The crowd was made to represent watchers/readers/IRL general public. Meanwhile, Bakugo was the author's voice. Basically, it was done so that the author could send a message across about girls being strong too, and that sexism is bullshit
Exactly and the same goes for Uraraka. A villain won't go easy on her just because she's a girl, and she has to be able to keep up. Such a great message, I haven't read the manga so I hope Uraraka has other moments to shine.

I don't find any of those at all. I really like her a lot because of her bright personality and positive attitude, she always admired Deku and looked up to him. She realised her feelings towards Deku but she puts it aside and focuses on being a hero. I like it when she gets serious in fighting too. I used to hate bakugou personality but after this episode, I really respect him for not calling Uraraka weak. Season 3 made me love his character even more, I love his character development.

Still one of my favourite episodes. Let me rant for a minute here. Bakugo: -Took her seriously as an opponent from the beginning. When she said "withdrawing isn't an option", he accepts that as someone who's ready to fight with everything they have, and treats it as such from the start. -Knew her quirk. Seriously, in the Cavalry battle they Just went through he said to half his classmates "I don't know your quirks". He went against her in the 1st round, which means he didn't watch a previous fight to see & judge it. He remembered it probably from their first mock training together. (He remembers her power from all the way back then & you can't convince me otherwise. He's an @ssh0le but he's not stupid.) -Was impressed by Uraraka. When he gets excited after she forced him to use a massive amount of strength, that's eagerness to fight an opponent he sees as worthy, someone who's going to give him a good fight. -When she dropped but kept crawling, he put his guard back up. (ya girl is dragging herself on the ground, barely conscious, and he's on guard. He's wary of her at that point. That speaks volumes about just how far she pushed him with that meteor shower, which he even acknowledges when he gets back to his seat. "There's a limit to my power too." / "What about her was fragile?") -Knows her by name. Even Todoroki he calls "Half-and-Half" & Bakugo knows and recognizes how strong he is. But he doesn't acknowledge him as his opponent with the respect that comes from using his name. Bakugo is my favourite bnha character and I will scream from the rooftops about how the first character he shows real respect for is a bubbly cute girl who knows how strong he is & takes him on anyway. I l o v e i t.

As a girl I actually love this scene, I hate when girls are underestimated and I hate it when boys are treated like bullies when they fight back. If people really want women to be equal to men we can't put handicaps on them.
Yes, like I was so mad at the audience then they are "pros" if they are then they shouldn't do the booing and just shut their mouths and watch. I literally was about to scream when present mic was going to start on it too but I was so glad Aizawa stopped him and shut the audience.
It low-key makes me sad to watch Uraraka fall to the ground with exhaustion, trying to cling on to her energy but she's already gone way past her limit. The feeling of working so hard for it all to be for nothing is really crushing.
I live both characters. As the fight went on I found myself rooting for Uraraka cause I'm a sucker for the underdog story. But I was hoping bakugo would win cause that would make the story less cliche. Idk if that makes sense lol
Yes I agree I actually think this did it quite well for both directions bc uraraka surprised everyone with the falliing rocks but it was realistic for bakugo to put his all in an explosion to eviscerate them
The girls power is actually insane. She doesn't need to touch no hero. She can fight with a 100ton hammer. Make the hammer light then cancel out her power when she is about to hit them.

I feel Neji vs Hinata here. Eventhough I feel bad for Neji, Cause there's no need to hold back when you're fighting a girl or a guy, because the one whom you're fighting is your opponent, gender doesn't matter at all

And when that happened, he was stopped before he could even lay a hand on her. Hinata was badly hurt because she insisted on continuing the fight even after being disabled and getting up (despite getting told it would endanger her life) after getting hit with the Gentle Fist. Part of this can be attributed to Naruto cheering her on. Bakugo also didn't seem to be going easy on Uraraka, on the contrary he seemed to take her seriously.
Bakugou isn't heartless. If anything, he is misunderstood by so many people. At this moment, he just realized that she was running out of strength and her body had start to give up
I love how he took her seriously. He's one of my fav characters, he's written so well and his character development up until the 5th season is chef's kiss!
Combine Explosions and Gravity, you'll probably have Pain's Almighty Push and Universal Pull. Since it's an Explosion of Gravity, and the other is an Implosion of Gravity.
It may have been mixed with shock and relief. If she pulled through for a bit longer he would have been slower and weaker after the huge blast he had to do

He threw quite a few explosions at her and they did next to nothing to her- the one he fired straight up sent her flying, but not out of the ring. If he hit her with something like that head on? I'd say she'd end up as paste, not pulp. Not to mention that she still kept up with him the whole time until the very end, I don't think this was as one-sided as people think.

2:44 this. One of the reasons i stan bakugo is this. You see his position. It means he is ready to attack. He went into that position because she moved. He would NEVER kick someone while they are down, so when she moved, even if she was on the floor, he expected for her to get up and fight. He did NOT let his guard down. He only did when he was announded a winner. 2:49 Not before that. He wanted to win aginst her while she's at her strongest. He always does. Aginst anyone he's fighting for. Because he wants to win even when people give it all, he wants to prove he's the strongest. Sure, he can be a jerk here and there, but he is not an idiot. I feel like these 3 notes of piano at 2:16 truly are underrated. So simple yet so heartbreaking, killing any positive vibes from the scene snapping off hope... She was ready to continue even if her plan didn't worked but her body didn't follow.
Bakugou had his guard up when she was CRAWLING on the floor, on her knees, barely moving towards him. This was a super close fight and it definitely must've been difficult for bakugou, because of his cramping in his wrist. I think that really showed how powerful Uraraka actually is, and it made me smile- Also that scene with her parents was so cute
2:14 I will never not feel upset here. The way they used the soundtrack and had the loud, strong violin diminish quickly into the sad piano music- The first time I watched this fight, I was fighting back tears.
The strength of Momo's quirk is its versatility. Used creatively, it has almost infinite possibilities. Usually, this is way more useful than raw destructive power.
She has the strongest power on the intire anime but they nerfed her. If you think deep about her powers you know she could just remove the gravity and smash her opponents, control molecular matter, create black holes, use telekinesis, controle vibrations, etc...
I think it's really cool how full of genuine respect Bakugou is, even though he has a piss poor way of showing it. Like i absolutely believe his respect is genuine, even as he calls someone an extra he never underestimates someone and gives it his all. Like in that arena he was probably the only one who took Uraraka truly serious, even as he decided he would win. So when Shouto dropped the fight it was just pure disrespect. I gotta say it makes him as a character so much more interesting.

He took her seriously. The others were sure she was going to lose, but bakugo fought him with all his power and she almost won. He didn't underestimate her at all. That's why i love this scene so much.
I feel like this fight is somewhat underrated. Everyone keeps talking about Midoriya vs Todoroki, but while that was good, this was actually my favorite fight from the arc.
One of the best fights in the sports festival. The way Uraraka kept hanging on regardless of the vast difference between their physical strength and still managed to figure a strategy shows how strong she is physically and emotionally. And she is the only girl in class who managed to make Bakugou feel threatened on a makeshift battlefield. Bakugou might not be your friendly neighbourhood hero but he respected her and saw her as an equal. This is what a person needs admist a fight, not sympathy but acknowledgement.
Uraraka may not have won but she proved at that moment how strong her will was and how strong _she_ was. I was so pissed when everyone were acting as if she's some frail damsel in distress, even after the fight.
I wanted Ururaka to win so badly, but I could tell she was going to lose. She didn’t pace herself which is how she got tired out. She’s really come a long way in season 5

we stan ochako for her determination ability and strength. we stan kacchan for acknowledging her strength and considering her an equal. we stan aizawa for silencing those sexist comments and supporting his capable female student.
This is the fight where you can you tell that Uraraka has HUGE potential as a hero. If she gets better control of her power and earns some experience in battle she could become one of the big shots.
I never really liked uraraka before this episode, I saw her as just another dumb love interest for deku (especially with her hero suit) but this episode really showed how dedicated she was to help her family, and I really like that because most shows would have had the guy go easy on her especially in an anime but uraraka kept going and that really made me love her.
Bakugo would still be able to maneuver himself around with his explosions even after ochaco touches him and uses her antigravity quirk. Bakugo will still have the upper hand no matter what tricks uraraka has up her sleeve.
Ok many people seem to believe this but it would actually be impossible for him to get them all accurate if uraraka touched him and he tried to control himself with his explosions then he would go straight out of the ring and lose Bakuhoe has the *tallest brain in da world*(my opinion)

No one's talking about just how tough this fight looked for Bakugo. He was actively struggling and even stressing in some cases. And we can see from Uraraka's perspective that he was still ready to keep going if she got back up. he never once let his guard down until that match was called. He had hella respect for in this fight and actually acknowledged what she was capable of, unlike literally everyone else there besides Aizawa.
i love this fight and i love the fact that bakugo took her seriously. Him going all out, shows that he acknowledged her and respects her as a hero and a proper opponent. I imagine myself as Uraraka in that situation, and i would be pretty pissed if my opponent went easy on me just because ''i'm a poor girl'' (just as the people in the crowd said). Bakugo winning is no shocker, but i still loved the determination on both sides!!!
After losing to Deku and seeing what it’s like to be pro at usj I think his vision for himself changed from being the best to wanting to be the best. The reason he took Uraraka seriously is the same reason he takes everyone seriously and why he got so upset at Todoroki. He wants to prove that he can beat anyone at their best and she gave him her all so when she fell he still kept his arms up, when he won he felt satisfied but not satiated like he would’ve before. He’s more aware of where he is and what he needs to do to get where he wants to be and it’s so satisfying watching and realizing how his brain has really been processing all the information he’s received since arriving at UA
this is the moment where I really liked both Uraraka and Bakugou's character. Bakugou knows his opponent is physically weaker and lacks the skill identical to his, however, he never let his guard down even once. Uraraka, on other hand, knows she doesn't have what it takes to bring down Bakugou, but tries her best anyway and never gave up, almost outsmarting him mid-fight.
I think this was the last time Uraraka shine as a character like in the following episodes, she's all about Deku. She doesn't have any alone spotlight that would make her character shine. Just Deku, Deku, Deku.
This was amazing fight. Bakugou treated her like he would any other opponent and didn't underestimate her as he should. Ochakos ability to come up with strategies and her endurance really shined in this match. I love how Bakugou didn't underestimate her even when she was down, still ready to fight. This scene is what made Ochako one of my favorite characters, her perseverance really shined plus her quirk is just awesome aswell as her personality and fight style.
It's obvious bakugo acknowledged her, but he was holding back, he doesn't want to inflict heavy damage and she has low endurance,he took it easy, maybe he could have oneshot her
This battle was really a starting point of the hero uravity, they should continue her development cus this battle had sm meaning to both bakugo and uraraka, bakugo himself struggled and acknowledged uraraka while other pro heroes couldn't see the potential of uravity, man I really hope to see uravity in action in season 6
I kind of think both of them are good for her character development. Like Deku basically inspires her, because she's always thinking to be like Deku. And bakugo... The only thing I can think about is... Nvm😔

All of the greatest parts have been cut-out, unfortunately. This fight was, and is, incredible because it shows Uraraka's power, Bakugou's perception, and how much he is capable of not only hiding his own feelings but judging other people. Out of the entire arena, her friends included, the only two people that didn't underestimate Uraraka were Bakugou and Aizawa. They were the only two that gave her anything close to respect.
Can we just appreciate how Bakugou "Banks on a huge demonstration of power." Everyone was shocked to see such a display esp Kaminari's and Sero's faces.Thats final blast was really the best thing I'd seen. Definitely my personal highlight of the entire tournament arc
Ochako's serious mistake was to shout her attack and then continue. She would have put up more of a fight if she had just stayed quiet and discreetly deactivated her quirk, but no, she gave a signal to the other that she had a plan.
Why is everyone praising bakugo here?? everyone's like "aww you can hear the pain in his voice after that move :(" or "i love that bakugo is all for equal rights equal fights XDDD". Like girl...can we PLEASE give props to Uraraka for not giving up. Why would yall feel sympathy for him in this one scene when she's the one who literally passed out and injured herself? I'm not saying he doesn't deserve the praise, his strategy is quite incredible and he won by a far but still, its all about him and not the only person who gained HIS respect.
This whole fight Made me respect bakugo a lot more instead of going easy on uraraka or thinking she was weak he took her serious treated her as an equal and he didn't hold back

Fun fact: Only Uraraka forced Bakugo to using full power during tournament. Of course just because Todoroki don't use his full power but still full respect for her
Sad this became a Sakura moment for Uraraka. After this, she became irrelevant and nothing but Deku's love interest.... Uraraka had so much potential as a character..

Her stuff with toga feels kinda half baked ngl especially when there is literally nothing they have in comparison besides liking the same guy it's boring as hell and toga's argument is dumb while also technically walking the same ground as deku vs shigaraki on whether villains should die which falls flat because none of the heroes families were the ones that were actually hurt or killed. Horikoshi should have focused on the desperate for money angle instead and put her in situations which compromises her morals for her own/families success thus adding to the whole heroes corrupt angle.
I wonder if his explosions can actually kill people or if they just scald you. Realistically, explosions like that should blow limbs right off, like a grenade.

Bakugou also was worried with her tactics because it was similar with Deku's self-sacrificial tendencies. That's why after the fight he asked Deku if he gave her some tips to fight him. Because he recognized the same reckless tendencies of Deku in Uraraka
