I trapped hawks with this thing, but i'm still trying to figure out how I can use it to launch a new state-of-the-art mail delivery business. I am debating whether or not I should redo my design. I could trade out the four sand weights for quad-copter props, then I would simply fly the device right up to the hawk on the pole, while carrying newspapers beneath it on a remote control release device. Delivering mail and capturing passage red-tails at the same time, that's what I am talking about. Thanks for the comment.

Being as you are the first falconer to give me the advise of "Don't over think things" concerning Falconry, I find your comment to be slightly unsettling. Like they say, your bird is what you put into it. The wheel works great because it serves as a natural shock absorber and a great frame to place a BC on, as well a as a more sturdy and reliable substitute to tying a weight to a cage! (I used to do the whole weighted cage thing, and won't ever go back). I will do my best to keep my videos as simple as possible, but nothing I do is written on stone, and viewers can be free to make traps as they wish, I just had to share my idea! Thanks again for the advise, and I hope you stay tuned!

Simplicity is brilliant for sure, and there is more than one way to fish a creek! This trap works as I am sure your 12 by 16 snare trap works. Maybe I should make a new trap video with a more basic concept trap, I learned trap making by observing the falconers in my area. They put their heart and soul into everything, and that includes their traps, which are unbelievably nice. Mine are nothing in comparison, but they do work so I shared a DIY! Thanks for watching!

This isn't illegal in Europe. Falconry started in Europe.

Ana Kruger Falconry is also an old tradition in Asia, like Mongolia for example. I regard it as best for any bird to live it's natural life. It's a choosing between this tradition of falconry and leaving birds in their natural environment. I understand that some people make another choice then I do. Such traps are illegal around here in Europe. All birds of prey are protected species here. Even trapping for research and releasing the birds afterwards is strictly regulated here in Belgium.

This trap is not illegal in Europe though... Falconry is actually less regulated in Europe than it is in other countries.
