Balance and dizziness issues post stroke can be very overwhelming. There are many difficulties that this can create after a stroke or brain injury.
If you notice the signs and symptoms of a stroke in your or someone around you
Balance / Co-ordination / Confusion
Eye and Vision Problems
Facial Droop
Slurred Speech
Stuttering
Inappropriate Word Usage for situation or context
Inability to stand
General Weakness or Weakness to one Body Side
Inability to properly and evenly Smile
Please Immediately place that person in a position of comfort and Dial 911

I had a stroke almost two months ago or about a month-and-a-half ago and I feel like my biggest problem is vertigo or dizziness + having real bad headaches and I just wish I could find out from someone here that maybe reading this, how long will it last or what's the average time span I really feel like I could walk and do things normally again if I wasn't so damn dizzy all the time plus the nausea that comes from dizziness, I have a slight slurred speech problem but I know that will get better I'm just really concerned about the dizziness it's hard to imagine life with constant dizziness although don't get me wrong I'm grateful to be alive I'm just tired of feeling like I just drank a fifth of whiskey all the time

Some patient dizzy caused by heme concentration, I dont know any western medicine can treat this problem. I am a Taiwanese software engineer. But I study ancient chinese medicine for many years I found some chinese herbs combination can solve this problem perfectly without any side effect. At least my mother is the patient with cerebellar stroke she had very serious dizzy everytime get up sit on bed or stand up after stroke. Doctor tell me modern medicine has no cure for it. But after she eat that formula she has no more such problem for one year already.

I have a history of vertigo because of my inner ears, but it was temporary. But a month ago when it started it never stopped, I feel light headed when move my head down or to the side. I also had vertigo in bed, but I manage it by moving carefully with the body holding head and neck in the same place. I also very upset , because at some point i dropped something and when I was picking it up--i fell backward, did not injure anything, the chores like showers or brushing teeth bring that sense of loosing or getting light headed. I did not see any doctors yet, because of pandemic, trying to avoid all meds.

I am sorry that your Doctor was not able or willing to listen to you. I would not normally recommend Dr. Google. However if you have done the appropriate research, and are able to educate yourself , so that you are better equipped to advocate for yourself, then Dr. Google is appropriate.

Great video…..I am 40 days into my cerebellar stroke on the right side. I think I’m luckier than most but I have Wallenberg syndrome and Horner syndrome so I’ve got some facial desensitization and I’ve got some balance issues but for 40 days now I’ve had double vision which well corrected with a prism still seems a little surreal and blurry and I am prone to the occasional dizzy spell, so I’m hoping that that eases up my prayers to everyone who’s watching these videos and who’s been affected by this it’s just awful.

You will get better! I had the strokes in 2018 in the brain stem, and my vision is almost back to normal. If it was not for occasional double vision, it would be 100%. But the constant weird feeling of not feeling balanced was gone within the 1st year. I feel like I'm physically 90% back to normal, mentally, I'm 100%. I do have one small spot on my left chest that's a little numb.

Thanks for your message. You had your stroke five years ago and your vision is just getting back to normal? Am I reading that right? I’m glad to see the end result for you but wow that’s a long time. But I’m super glad that it’s positive for you. I wish you all the best. Let me know what you think.
@knuftobor

@rcranky64 My vision improved almost completely about a year after. I still have episodes of double vision. I used to panic before, but I stay calm now and let it pass. My neurologist thinks it's not serious. It does not last very long, perhaps less than a minute, but it lasted longer once. If I cover one eye, I can see straight, which means my eyes are not alligned. The doctor said the brain compenstes for this, but it's only temporary. But my vision, meaning my ability to focus, was back to normal within 6 months. I should mention that I was in a coma for about 3 months, so when I started to wake up, my vision was very blury. People are shocked when they learn that I had several strokes. I think people really need to use their mind to get better. Seriously, think and imagine what it feels like to have control over their body. When you think your brain is working and is healing.

I had several strokes during emergency heart surgery. I was in a coma for 4 months. In a bed for 7 months. I had clots and hemorrhaging at the brain stem and my left was effected. Regained most function on the left. Still some numbness in the left chest & right hip. Vocal chords still not working well but I can talk which, I couldn't make a sound for months. I'm walking about 30 minutes a day and this balance & vision issue is causing me a lot of anxiety. I want to get back to work but I need more stamina. I'm not taking My pain meds and stopped the anxiety meds. It would be a nightmare just to be at work in this condition. I'm almost done with physical therapy but I haven't seen a Neurologist since I woke for about 30 minutes. I'm just not myself.

im undergo the MRI to chk my unbalance issue on 10th Feb 2022 and the result is a minor stroke had happen in my left brain before and i didnt even realize it... so ive been under medication now with blood thin pills and cholestrol pills and nerve vitamins and yes i had a vertigo yesterday and i felt so weak and i sleep for 12 hours ... from yr experience since this is new for me .. is it normal to me to get vertigo during the medication ..
@StrokeAssaulter
@StrokeAssaulter 2 года назад
Your stroke is so recent, that the sense of vertigo might be related to post stroke fatigue. My best advice is to talk with your Neurologist and General Practitioner about this.
