After cutting your hydrangeas, dip the ends in water then alum, found in the spice section of your grocery store. The alum will prevent them from wilting and dying. 💙

Amanda, Your videos are soothing and beautiful. I love Paris also, but living in the States I can’t get there as often as you can so I appreciate when you take us with you. The man helping Lincoln is amazing. He works the equipment as if they were his arms and hands. It’s brilliant to watch. I can’t get enough of Lincoln riding his bike with a baguette under his arm. Love it!! ❤

If you want the hydrangeas to last after being cut, hammer the ends of the stems so they can soak up more water. Same with any other hard stem flowers. I’m jealous of your plants.

The kitchen bones are getting rejuvenated to last the test of time and for generations to come. The structure and the foundation, the behind the scene of things is where the real money gets spent before the pretty shiny details get placed. You have to admit dining out even for lunch even breakfast is far superior to the USA, rail travel too I remember traveling by train through Europe and just admired how clean the environment is. When we got back to JFK, pollution and litter was what I noticed on our car ride home

Amanda your videos never disappoint. The Hydrangea are lovely. The summers where i live are very hot.(Perth Australia} My garden centre advised me to spray water from above the flower to let them drink in, it worked very well . A vase only needs to be half full for flowers also clip a little of the stem every third day when changing water. Sorry maybe you know all this Amanda. Great to see the sunshine.

Can you get the app that tells you what the plants are? The 'Gladioli ' were, in fact hybridized Snapdragons. I think the roses are Cecile Brunner, but an app will tell you what are weeds and what are not. The tall, prickly plant is probably Miss Willmot's Ghost, a very difficult plant to propagate, if it is, quite a treasure

We're just down the road in the Morbihan, 45 minutes away, American-Australian married to a Brit. We've done reno on a village house on a much smaller scale, so we've sympathised with your ups, downs, and in-betweens. And there are moments when we hold our breath -- like Lincoln and his helper taking down the staircase and reinserting new overhead beams as you film it all. Well done to you. Your channel is a complete joy to watch.

Question: I have seen the video when they put the big support beams in the walls. Did you put cement also to fix them after? Never saw that part done. Even if the beams are very heavy they need cement to make sure the wall is solidified. They are old and its a good thing to make sure the don't move.
