I mean I can appreciate this philosophy about embracing what nature gives you... but I just picked up a Chi hair straightener for the first time in over a decade and am LOVING the effect of sleek shiny hair, and the way it changes my face. I instantly look prettier and more put together.
I love him and the cut does look better. She seems to want to really just cut it all off. She went from really long to this and still pulls it back every day. Just cut it off. That seems to be where she's heading anyway. She has a great face for it too.
I love Laurent's approach to styling hair. He stays true to the natural texture rather than fighting against it. My hair texture is v similar to Violette's and I style mine with minimal heat. Since cutting it blunt as suggested by Laurent, my hair looks so much better!
Great video, thanks. Several of the new presenters on the revamped channel go, for me, beyond inspirational or aspirational into just pretentious and unbelievable. Glad to see Laurent and his good advice.
this video came at the right time because i'm thinking of cutting my hair at a similar length. my hair has been down my back for the longest time and sometimes you want a fresh change so thank you for the tips!
She doesn't seem truly convinced about the styling. In reality the moment she goes outside and there's a breeze, the whole look falls apart. Perhaps if he had used a curling iron to make loose structured curls which would still fall nicely when she was out and about, and even last the next day, it would have worked better. Once she sleeps on this style, she'll have to start from the beginning to have it look nice again. I was hoping you'd do her makeup too.
I think Laurent did a wonderful job here. Perhaps a longer pixie would work on her? With her natural texture and her desire/preference to have it pulled away from her face, I wonder if she would like a shorter cut? Also, would've loved to see more time spent on how to style and care for curls/waves.
I have similar hair as Alicia and the way I style it if I have a special occasion is using a specific shampoo by Head & Shoulders for volume - not sure why, but this shampoo really keeps the hair in perfect shape for styling. Then I spritz just minimally some volumizing spray by John Frieda or Bumble & Bumble and blow dry with my head upside down. Already I've built a strong foundation. Then I continue by sectioning my hair and making a blow out using my bristle brush. I find the less products i use, the better. Because my hair is thinning, it looks greasy and weighed down super quickly by products.

I haven’t had kids yet but since turning 30, my hair has straightened out. It’s right in between wavy and straight. I’ve noticed my hair on my left side is now almost completely straight. But my hair on my right is still wavy.
I wear my hair short (at my chin) for such a long time time now because it really suits my face. I feel bored sometimes though. There’s not much to to with it 😂
Dunno, didn’t like the previous style he made, and now again similar thing - a ton of product, hair looks greasy, doesn’t look better. Both heroines seem unhappy.
As so many of you I feel like she did not like the cut nor the styling. And to be honest, I do not think that he made her hair do any better. She looks outdated and old.
Honestly, her hair looks terrible. The style is messy and she looks unkempt. The stylist does quirky, unusual hair for editorial, but this is just a soccer mom mess.
