Sooo uhhh... I'm basically like brand new to this whole pool and hot tub maintenance thing. My Dad usually does it all, but this year he said he just doesn't have the time and it's up to me. Sooo, all he told me was to put 1 bromine tablet inside a float and throw it in the hot tub and be done with it. However, I honestly feel like I should be doing more than that. It can't be that easy and takes literally 1 second to do, lol. He would have plenty of time to do that if that's all it was, lol. I also feel like I should be using chlorine tablets instead of bromine. What would you recommend? I probably shouldn't use both, right? Could that be bad? Like, if I take half tablet of bromine and half tablet of chlorine and put then in 1 float? Or even separate them and use separate floats?
We do have some step-by-step videos for maintenance and which chemical to use for easy following if you need them: Maintenance: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kSV8Bqm3WKo.htmlsi=lkWfwmIXdWbQS6DJ Bromine vs. Chlorine: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kOTxFCpPH_g.htmlsi=19eOVg647a-5qa6P However, the chemical components are honestly up to you and your preference. They both do the same sort of sanitizing, just differently and bromine is just meant to be better for you in general. There is the sanitation process after dropping in the tablets that can take 3-8 hours, which is probably why your dad doesn't have time for it. How to check if your pH levels are balanced and the hot tub is clean with the testing strips. You'll probably want to do this a day or two before actually using your tub. It is not good to use both bromine and chlorine at the same time. The chemicals do not interact well at all and can be really unsafe. Hopefully this is helpful for you!
