Real question, would it actually go to zero? I imagine not like with hands where you just can’t go below one but I’ve never actually tried. And does this mean infinite ectoplasm or would it just not let you use it?
Blackboard on checkered deck would basically be like having blackboard and smeared Joker as a combo, only in 1 joker slot instead of 2, which isn't terribly useful outside of making blackboard flush builds slightly less awkward but still
I was actually just looking in the wiki the other day and saw that what you found with the spectral cards that couldn’t be used with one card in hand is actually a feature. Not entirely sure why though :/

@@HaloInverseyeah, the phrasing is “all cards held in hand are spades or clubs”. In the case of no cards, all of your cards are spades or clubs, since you don’t have any of them. It also works with wild cards, since it doesn’t say you can’t hold red cards. A wild card counts as everything, so it counts as a spade and club, even though it also counts as a heart and diamond. I think semantically, it’s more akin to saying something like “all the apples I have are red”. If you don’t have any apples, it’s still true. Similarly, every card you have is a spade or club, since you don’t have any cards
If your hand size is one, can you get boss blinds like "must play 5 cards" or "no repeat hands"? Or does the game check to make it not totally impossible?
Given the game doesn't do this for, say a deck of only face cards; probably not. Only place specific blinds are banned that we know of is challenges as verdant leaf would make certain ones completely impossible.
Ecto is a power play - it kills you often on marginal runs, but will make crazy decks more crazy. Also, you can't pick where the ecto goes, so if you have jokers you are keeping temporarily, it can end up giving you a free mediocre joker for less draw. If you run a Mercury or Pluto deck it can do a job though, I guess.
