Compare of Anthem of the Seas on Royal Caribbean, this room was a bit tight but because of the sofa that turned into a bunk bed, there was still room to walk around. Funny enough, we have traveled as adults with our parents in a single room and we’re fine meaning 4 adults in a n even smaller room like an interior room for a 12-16 day transatlantic cruise. So all depends on the person. Also for reference, all ships are built in Europe and then come over to the States. That is why we have done 8-9 transatlantic cruises leaving Barcelona or Rome back to NY. MSC is finally building a ship designed specifically for American cruisers so maybe it looks different. For our cruise we kept the bunk bed open the whole time just so we have a place for kids to rest mid day

Only specific rooms have 4 person capacity, not all. You can see that during booking when you are selecting your room. Hope this helps
