excellent tour sir. six of us sailing meraviglia out of Brooklyn in 2 weeks to Bermuda. this is our first non NCL sailing. looking forward to it. best wishes from Staten Island.
Great tour, Fraser. I wonder why cruise lines don't offer this type of orientation to their guests? It's much easier than trying to review deck plans, and your tips and suggestions -- aimed at adults, families, and special activities -- are very useful!
Thanks for the tour. I hope to go on the Grandiosa very soon since it's currently traveling the Mediterranean sea. Best regards from a fellow french cruising youtuber 🙂
If I may, I have sailed on the Seashore and did an extensive visit of the Smeralda. While I'm deeply convinced that both company have good and bad points, in the end, it really depends on what the visitors like. Both company have a different vibe. Costa is known for being more colorful, maybe more fun in a way, but I personally find the decoration a bit too old school, and the general vibe lacks something that I can't really define. But anyway, I wouldn't mind going on a cruise with them if I had the chance, it still is a good experience if you accept what the company has to offer. MSC is more classy, I generally enjoy the decoration and the ships more, the general ambiance suits me more. Again, it's hard to define precisely as it can differ for everyone. I know other cruisers that absolutely love Costa over MSC, so it's difficult to give anything else than a very special opinion. If you need, I have a video on my channel touring the Smeralda (it's a french cruising channel but I have a special international section with some ships tour that everyone can understand).
Hello! Thanks so much for supporting my little channel. In terms of which I prefer, I agree with @Frenchiesonthego below - it depends on so many personal preferences. I’d recommend checking out my videos from both cruise lines, and then approaching with an open mind - I’d love to hear what you think when you come back!
I can see how this ship would attract people with kids so it wouldn't be for me. A lot of it looked like a shopping centre near where I live. Thanks for the tour.
Yeah, I hear this a lot - mostly due to to that big galleria with the digital screen - lots of people think that looks like a shopping centre. I actually really love the overall design of this ship class - maybe you'll give it a go at some point... However, be sure to book when the kids are in school!
I booked a Bahamas cruise as a gift for my mom on Meraviglia in November, she speaks some English (I'd say intermediate-low level), do you reckon she can navigate the ship or should I watch more videos to explain everything to her prior?
@@meobunny ah, don’t worry - I find this type of ship fairly easy to navigate - you only need to know about a small number of decks. Hopefully this video can help her!
No worries at all. You can get around the ship without any actual human assistance. Of course,it’s more fun to mingle and interact with guests and staff at (for example) the MDR, but vacationers and cruise staff are generally welcoming. So, have fun, enjoy this beautiful ship and most probably fun people.
Hey! I don’t think it is actually - I didn’t have a drinks package, so did have to pay for it. Sadly not a concrete answer - always best to check onboard in my experience, as these things can change!
I was on that ship the week of 8/4. The shower had a smell that was ungodly. Food was subpar. On Italian Night my wife and daughter had the chicken parm that you could compare it to a TV dinner . I will stay with Royal Caribbean. As for deck 7 they make it look to be closed to people that’s why you saw nobody on it.
Hmm, it sounds like you've had a really poor experience on here. My experience wasn't the best, but largely due to human error and a lack of service, more than yours which seem operational. Thanks for watching my tour today!
