The video is really proof that we have a Creator.❤️ Did you know bald eagles have eyes that are 8 times sharper than ours?! They could literally see a rabbit from 3.2km (2 miles) away and spot fish underwater! Their feet even have a grip that’s 10 times stronger than ours! This means they could lift a human baby or 24 billiard balls! Bald eagles also build the largest nests than any bird. They can be up to 4 meters (13 feet) deep, 2.5 meters (8 feet) wide, and weigh up to 1 ton. They use the same nest for years and add new material every year. Some nests have been used for over 35 years! (And their brains are as big as a walnut!) We really live in a detailed world.😌 A world that certainly did not exist by accident, but invented!
First time saw one in the wild, BIG surprise. I was waiting for that powerful, majestic "SCRAAAAAAWWW!!!!!!" you hear in the movies and got "Cheep-cheep-cheep!" instead. Still, majestic bird.
Am I the only one who actually likes the bald eagle's real call? It can be majestic as well, like the red-tailed hawk's screech, if used in the right moment. Both birds are good!
Agreed. The real Bald Eagle call is more hauntingly beautiful, and would be perfect for a landscape scene meant to show the raw beauty of wild North America.

@@Our-Creator-Loves-Us Do NOT try to preach religion to anyone in the comments unless asked about it specifically. I'm so tired of people like you. I want to escape religion, it only created anxiety and pain for me. So STOP. You have no idea what people have been through.
There’s a native story from the Pacific Northwest that the bald eagle helped the other birds get their voices (calls) where the other raptors were too proud to help, and as such was gifted the ability of song where the other raptors merely got squawks.
The well known "SQUAK" isn't a Bald Eagle call...American commercials ripped off the Red Tail Hawk's SQUAK and made it so the American Bald Eagle screams furiously, Bald eagles only make awkward chirping sounds...like in the video
Basically our country right there: a scavenger that looks like a predator, but actually sounds like prey once it opens its mouth. Like MV96 said, cleaning up is a respectable job, but we aren't exactly honest with ourselves about our place in the world.
I've heard these guys so many times while canoeing up and down the east coast. I've seen them dive down on cute little ducks and grab one for a meal, or skim across the water and snatch a big fish, never even slowing down. Majestic indeed.
As a wise man once said “It actually makes sense this bird represents America, because their intimidating until they open their mouth and then you realize there a mess inside”
Calm down, soldier, it was a joke. I'm just as much a patriot as the next history freak, but sometimes it's cool to jab at your own home, yes? Or would you like me to keep my 'political' puns completely WW2 German, Soviet Union and communism?
His looks are like when you tell someone your are gonna kill them on the internet and act all badass and tough. *His call is when you fight someone in person*
I get why people sound kinda disappointed in their calls, but to hear one in person is so much more moving since they’re much louder than what the video shows.
@@demonking86420 Well where in America did you go? There are definitely some amazing places that are far from underwhelming. NYC, The Grand Canyon, Chicago, Niagara Falls, Los Angeles and its picturesque coast, Alaska's wilderness, Hawaii, Yellowstone National Park. I find it hard to believe wherever you're from can compare to the U.S., whether you want a huge vibrant metropolis, or if you want to see the beauty of nature.
@@just_cade I went to California and I hated it there. Makes me wonder what if I went to Yellowstone or Disney World or anywhere but the PC-filled madhouse called California
Lord Habitaxe of Prydonia You sound fun to be around.. But in all honesty, I’m not a big California person. It’s not the “liberal PC nonsense” or whatever, it just isn’t my style. I’ve never been to New York, but I can tell you Disney World is not your ideal American vacation. Cities like New Orleans are always fun if you’re looking for a good time. If you want “real” America, I think Chicago has that covered pretty well. I don’t know what you’re looking for.
@@thebrutusmars yeah sorry about that I was trying to make a point that I rather go to Disney world than a state filled with liberal PC democrap I'm not saying that DW is good don't get me wrong
0:39 What people think a Bald Eagle sounds like: **majestic, fearsome scream, echoing with might and power** What a Bald Eagle actually sounds like: **squeaky mocking laughter**
Did Casual Geographic sent you to this video? That's a yes for me. He said "The symbol of America sounds like a seagull with laryngitis." That seems kind of accurate for this video.
Yep!!! I actually think it’s adorable. Kinda like America: we have tough defenses but we’re actually sweet on the inside if you give us a fair chance. ❤️🇺🇸❤️
It is interesting that I first heard this sound about a week ago. Fifty years ago, just seeing an eagle along the Mississippi River would have been a big deal. As time went on you would see eagles soaring or even nesting near the river. About 25 years ago we moved to our farm, which is about 11 miles east of the river in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin and and a few years later started to see eagles flying overhead. About 20 years ago, I was out checking heifers and an eagle landed in an Oak tree not more than 150 feet away. I was amazed. He watched me for minute or two, but was probably scouting for rodents and then took off and flew out of sight. Over the years we saw increasing numbers of eagles and they started to alight in some of the tall spruce trees in the area. In fact, one time as we were walking with our dogs, I joked with my wife that the next thing we might see is an eagle in the tallest tree on our property. At that moment we looked up and an eagle was looking down at us. This is a tall spruce tree about 700 feet south and east of our house, but, it is less than 50 feet from the property line of an old school house that friends of ours live in as a summer home. Last week I was out walking the dogs and the eagle came flying in and landed at the very top of the same tree and looked down at us. I don't think the dogs even realized the eagle was there and we walked within a few feet of the tree and around to the front of the house. Our neighbor was outside and I mentioned that the eagle was up in the tree. He said that this had been happening quite often as of late, and the bird made the sounds in the video which I don't ever recall hearing before. You sometimes will come upon an eagle on the highway due to a road kill, but you don't hear any sounds. My neighbor said that the bird almost seemed like he was talking to them, since they heard the call before, but perhaps it was calling another eagle in the vicinity?
Well they do mate for life....so maybe they were calling to their mate saying, "I bet the next thing we are gonna see is one of those weird squishy humanoids right below our tall look-out tree...omg!!! hunny you are not gonna believe what is walking on the ground below me...hurry come look!!!" Hahahahahah....
I can't tell if you're joking or not, but I've spent a lot of time up in Alaska where the Bald Eagle is as common as pigeons are in New York, and I can assure you that they do in fact sound just like the one in this video.
Have a family of four near my dads house. We go down to the river and hear them chirping with each other. They plop down into the river to get a fish once in awhile.
It really confused me as a teenager when I first heard a white-tailed eagle in real life and learned how they actually sounded. Glad to learn that bald eagles have essentially the same call. Truly majestic birds but their sound is... unexpected.
