Also the Corvette and all the cars were super sick. The EG's, Porsche's. FD's, GTR, Z's and the Yashio S15 etc. Also gratz getting the 56 seconds! I remember from my Gran Turismo days getting under the 1 minute mark is quite hard on Tsukuba, but dude I love that track so much. It was pretty much my go to for testing cars in GT 😆

I hope you give a shout-out to the new NA record, which I think is at least as impressive. Most time attack guys, as I’m sure you know, are on A050 - there aren’t many using Hoosiers like Feras. Most who are have well over 1000hp, and almost all of those happen to be the top guys at Tsukuba too. I’d say good results are pretty predictable with 1300+hp, Hoosiers, a professionally engineered aero setup, and a few years of continuous development. Seeing these times, I’m reminded of the JGTC NSX that was less than a second slower at the same weight, barely 1/3 the power, and vastly less aero. A lot different, maybe, but I think it highlights just how much of these awesome lap times comes from brute power and downforce. Still very cool and impressive for many reasons, of course.

i would love to see the differences between setting up a car for grip V drifting, and to know if it is possible to run the same car in both types of events at an amateur level and what would be the key changes in the set up you would have to change for the different disciplines

I know you said you wanna get into Time Attack. And honestly you have a car already in your garage that could work perfectly for it.... The R33 would be a great Time Attack car. Its less risk of it getting written off like Drifting, and you can still drive it, push it, build it and enjoy it in a way that lets you develop as a driver and builder. I feel it would be better to go that route.

I don't really even care about the drifting, I skip the driving parts usually. I'm here for the cars and technical stuff. So I'm definatly down for grip content.

Love the idea of more grip, but defo stay drift as main. It would be good to see your confidence and skill grow in multiple disciplines, and maybe some wangan/C1/touge runs in a solid "grip" orientated car.......but that's just my opinion.

I love your channel for the Japan content and car builds but definitely not a drift guy. More grip content would be killer! Like any kind of motorsport, the excitement and adrenaline when you post a new PB is addicting. That and having fun hanging out with like minded people, comparing laps and strategies to go faster. Also, there is zero S15 grip builds on RU-vid. I'd love to see someone do a good S15 grip build from the ground up!

Feras is a nice dude. Met him on a weekend when we were doing HPDEs out at Cresson MSR as he was debugging his car a few years ago. We talked Corvettes for a few mins as I helped him load up his car at the end of the day. Very approachable guy. Missed him at COTA SLB this year though!

It's weird you dont picture a Corvette as a motorsports car, it's dominated GT racing the last 15 years including nine 24hr Le Mans wins. But you picture a S Chassis as a motorsports car. Lol

I'd love to see you get into more grip/time attack... it's a totally different discipline from drifting, but as Okachan has shown, you can be very good at both.

Did he say he never consindered a corvette for motorsport? Dont be such a jdm weeb. Outside Japan jdm cars arent even considered for 24hr le mans or the nurburgring because they underperform out of the factory. Those types of stress performance tests generally dictate whether a car is actually fast or not. The corvette and the viper acr have been #1 and 2 above ferrari and other supercar manufacturers for 10years until just 4 years ago when they stopped running laptimes on the track and porsche became king. The only high performance racing in japan is gt500 which are shell cars (similar to nascar) that have nothing in common with factory vehicles because outta the factory like i said jdm cars underperform. Remember the fastest tuned grip gtr is only slightly faster than a stock 911 gt2rs and costs wayy more. A corvette is and always has been the supercar killer on a budget.

Love the drifting. That’s what brought me here. But it’s hard for us “normal” people to judge other than it looks cool. Be interesting to see you do something that is just 100% this is what you did. You have enough cars you could turn one into a time attack car. Just aim for sub 1 min. No need to try to win like drifting.

Surprised that you thought the Corvette was a drift platform. Actually, Corvettes have a long, long racing history and it's only in the last few years that anyone used them for drift. They are, hands down, the easiest and cheapest platform to go fast. Parts galore, great engineering from the factory, and American made. If you go to any track in America, there will be lots of C5 and C6 corvettes.

Hell yeah throw in some of that time attack it would be good for the Okinawan vehicle you can't seem to find the title for. It's a whole different style than you are used to but good to know.

It was a little sad that the carbon kevlar was never mentioned! All the body work on the vette is built from it, it's such a cool material!

As long as you enjoy the things you upload, I will watch it, it's when a channel start to upload things just to upload I loose interest in the videos that channel post, as it feels fake and not "you" so to say. If you wanna go for more time attack, do it! Same with any other type of content you wanna test to see if you enjoy and later on if that thing have rooted an interest in you or any of your employs that you wanna support!
