After growing complacent with his fading hair rick let it grow out for a long time. His hair was thinning slowly and wasn't too concerning until Rick recognised that an insecurity over his hair was slowly building.
Rick was becoming more and more attached to his hat and began to feel uncomfortable when needing to take it off. This didn't feel like himself and so action was required.
Watch the moment he faces the fear of going bald head on and leaves hair loss insecurity in the past.
I was caught up with Rick post head shave to hear his thoughts, hear about the reactions from others and also to listen to his advice for any other men wanting to brave the shave but who might need some words of encouragement. Cheers boys! and cheers Rick!

As a woman, I never knew that men got insecure over losing hair. Society has really conditioned us to not notice that men have emotions. It's sad. But I'm glad I came across this video. It humanized this experience. He looks awesome with a shaved head.

@@lindajohnson3272 I thought my head would look worse. Okey sorry to hear that. I think it is harder for women to lose their hair to be honest but there is alot of wigs out there that look good. But deep down you have to be ok with the fact that you are losing it and i think being able to shave it off or really short as a start is something you should try Linda. I'm in my 50s and lost my hair around the age of 23, so I've kind of grown up with it really! Never been an issue for me, thankfully. A friend of mine in his 40s has just started to go bald. One of his teenage daughters is absolutely disgusted about it. Her reaction has really upset him, on top of his anxiety about losing his hair. This toxicity around male baldness has got to stop - especially when teens are starting to see it as something men should be ashamed of.

i shaved my head for the first time a year ago, and i discovered a cheat code to not get razor burns. instead of using shave cream, try using conditioner. it has a nice glide and because it moisteraizes, i dont get razor burns. i recommend trying it out

Going to start binging this channel all over again. I've always had a mature hairline/high forehead but in the last two months I've noticed I can see scalp through my hair when the sun hits it. Hairline isn't moving but it seems to be thinning where it already stands. I'm only 26. I always said thanks to this channel I'll be ok shaving bald when the day comes but I think the day is closer than I thought!

Same here, I'm about to be 29. I started using Minoxidil about a year ago where I noticed it thinning along the front 2 sides and it's definitely helped fill it back out to where I don't need to buzz cut it.

Welcome Rick! Lookin' sharp! My dry scalp completely disappeared once I took it all off and was able to focus on the same skin care I give my face - not sure how common that is. The biggest part, for me, was learning to quit the BS and clever combing and own my baldness. I felt (and feel) more confident without the anxiety of dealing with thinning & receding hair. I actually started with zero on top and one on the sides but it became too fiddly to get the fade right, so now it's all zeros, with a lathered-up razor shave every month. Not looking back.

Yeah i didnt want to deal with trying to comb over or try to hide it. so i shaved it off and will keep it like that. might grow it out for afew weeks then shave again but i like the baldness and the simple routine it gives me :) Also like you said about the dry scalp. Mine was fine by the end of day 2 and for sure gone by day 3 :)

Congratulations! Let's be real honest, it's not about it if you look great, moderate or worse without hair. It's all about freedom! Gates of true self are opened at last. Regaining that true man power of self-confidence is what attracts a real women with values. Went bald couple years back on a whim as a test before real deal that awaits in a two do four years time I think. From my observations, a real importance next step is not wearing too much of a caps, hoodies or anything in between. Don't let yourself be looped back in the cycle of the past. After regaining your 'shield', there won't be a battle in the future which you won't be able to tackle. Cheers!
