Commander Legends 2 Battle for Baldur's Gate is... gaining steam?
Baldur's Gate has seen its ups and downs. Frankly, more downs than ups. But with draft boxes having sunk below $80 earlier this year and as low as $82 little more than a month ago, Baldur's Gate is seeing a nice little resurgence. The important part is that it's the singles within the set that are gaining value and I think that may be what is helping to drive the price up on these boxes to the current $93. Also... pretty fun product to open!

Without a doubt, Wildcat & PoA have championed this set for a long time! It just took massive drops in price and avoiding the Set boxes like the plague for them to rebound. Old hat now, but thinking back? Oh man if they just had Draft and Collector boxes and dropped the Commander Legends name, as well as an appropriate price? This would have sold like crazy from the start.

This set definitely took a hit reputation wise from the initial price point and ensuing outrage. But it’s nice to see that it’ slowly carving out a spot in people’s minds as a quality set.

Me and my pal got 1 draft box on sale for 90 $ cad each and both hit jack pot , mine had : copper , silver , kitty 3 lands , archivist , basically everything I needed , my pal got a copper , kitty , archivist and 5 land In his box !

I've always enjoyed this set, can't say I enjoyed the out of the gate prices or that the set boxes were the worst set boxes that I have ever seen. Then I started getting into bundles with this set and it felt like the hit rate was greater in those than set boxes. Thanks for the video!

The Set boxes are an abomination… like indefensible by WoTC to raise the price, decrease the number of packs, and have the product be that bad. Baldur’s Gate as a set though is good and it would seem the set is finally starting to appreciate.

I've had great success with the Bgate draft boxes.. Lots of value. LoL that Boo token is even worth buck fiddy.

I think that for the entry point there is a lot of upside in Baldur’s Gate now.

I think had this been released alongside BG3- like instead of commander masters- it would have been a huge success.

It definitely got a bump from BG3. I think people are starting to come around on this set. The initial price point and reduction in packs really drove people away which was a shame all the way around.

I bought a draft box of CL:BfBG for $73USD after tax and I got an Ancient Gold Dragon and an Ancient Copper Dragon (borderless) For that price how could I say no? Nice box you opened here!

I've been debating on which box I want to get of this... LGS has the Baldur's Gate Bundle for about 55USD/ea I've heard mixed reviews for the Set Booster Box... and I watched your vid1 for the draft booster box.. I'm a huge D&D fan so I'd be happy with any of the boxes but still unsure which would provide the best value

My personal opinion… avoid Baldur’s Gate set boxes. Only 18 packs and the collation is really bad. I have several box opening videos of those and many are not very good boxes. I’ve gone like 3-4 set boxes and not even pulled any lands. I personally would rather open draft and found them to be a more pleasurable opening experience.

Watching the singles rise, I decided to overpay for a case of the draft since Rudy no longer sells them. I think these will be $100 easily in the next year

Reprints are always a bit of a wildcard but I do think this set is (already has) started to appreciate well. I definitely feel there is room for this set to run.

@@WildcatMTG reprints are definitely a problem, but another reason why I like this set is everyone reports the set being fun to draft. Boxes have taken awhile to be absorbed but I’m sure once people get around to drafting this set it’ll hold steady at $100 since it does have many singles that people like or want or need

My only real complaint with this Commander set is you are bound to get the same legendary creatire multiple times. Makes it feel less unique. Otherwise, not terrible.

That is an issue. Just one box and you will already have duplicates of some of them…

I kept telling everyone this set was a monster in the midst of all the complaining at release.. & If Wotc doesn't reprint the top cards for awhile these will go through the roof

Initial price point and decrease in packs really created an expectation that the set would be bonkers. If one or both of those things hadn’t happened I think people would have had a much better perception of this set. Instead it’s been a bit of a slow burn.
