I think you left off The Oak Father's Embrace, which is found in Act 1 in the Owlbear nest. It is a basic 13 AC armor, but it deals 1d6 radiant damage to any Undead unit that hits the wearer and 1d6 Radiant damage to the wearer whenever the wearer hit a beast.
Armor of persistence is just too good giving that 1d4 of saving throws, in act 3 I can finally stop caring about ability scores affecting my saving throws😂
I use the Githyanki halfplate for a relatively long time. It gives 15 + (up to 2) AC, which is on the high end for the early game. I often replace it in Act 2. While it doesn't have any "magic" bonuses, it's still fairly decent. The barkskin, for example sets your AC to 16, while wearing this one can give you 17 AC. Yes, it may not be transferred to your wild shape, but it should still be at the top of C tier, it not bottom of B tier xP It's much better than the Hide Armour +1 (which gives 13 base AC)
Yeah hide armor +1 is poo poo. Good point on the Githyanki plate I just never use it, so it can be a bit better than some options, but I usually have Lae'zel decked out in heavy armor
I tend to have someone in my party use Lae'zel's starting armor until I get to use the Adamantine Forge, then sell it off. By the time I kill some other Githyanki and take their armor is has become trash only good for selling. I really feel like the Githyanki should have a broader range of armors, including heavy armors, with the Kithraks at least being better protected.
Using Luminous Armor for the first time on Shadowheart as a Light domain cleric. I'm abusing Sacred Flame and Guiding Bolt- still in act 1. It is so strong! Gave her the Adamantine shield, and she's all set. Haven't used Spirit Guardians yet, as the party is killing pretty much everything at range, but with just those 3 spells and this armor, she's a tremendous fighting machine!
Dark Justiciar armor is making my Githyanki necromancer awesome. Taking resilient: constitution makes me virtually unable to lose concentration. I’ll use this until I get the con amulet. Then I’ll figure out what else I’ll use.
Paladin armor is the drip! Also 20-22 ac has proven to be okayish for the first half of act 1 at least. There's not much interesting going on for paladin armors till Grymforge anyway. Well except for luminous armor but I always give that one to Sheart
Agreeed. Once I get Armor of agility it does NOT come off 😂😂 it can give higher armor class than heavy armor, and no disadvantage to stealth. Seriously too good

RP tier = sell it for B tier and above. Tbh the barkskin armor becomes A tier for me because it's available early in act 2 and it is so damn useful on Halsin (I keep him in my party for most of act 2 once we get him and usually do his quest quickly; his banter and commentary is just excellent as we run around the map) or if I am playing as druid. Jaheira comes in so late in act 2 anyway and I gotta have my older Emerald Enclave + Harper throwback duo reunited to storm Moonrise.
Hahahaha exactly. RP or sell tier Yeah the barkskin armor is great for Halsin I only really use him for his quest line but I should use him more next playthrough. I’m just a Jaheira & Minsc Stan so 😂 The barkskin in wildshape is really nice though especially on squishy wildshapes
@@JasonDunna I feel that! I always have fun running around with Minsc, Halsin and Jaheira for a bit in Act 3 when I'm not actively fixing my other companions' lives. Team Been There, Done That when Team Mean Girls need a break to go shopping. Gotta farm that approval being nice to animals, dogs, and refugees. Halsin and Minsc have awesome banter about people wanting to pick fights just because they're big and it can be nice to be as small as Boo. Halsin was my only companion who acted like the toys with bombs existed...he was in one of his "this city sucks" rants (based) and my asshole bard was like, "you're overreacting." Halsin doubled down and was like, "wtf they have BOMBS in toys for refugee CHILDREN and no one does anything," but didn't even disapprove me. I tend to spec Jaheira and Halsin so differently that they both have a spot in an active party if I want them.
@@Emma-se5wm "Fixing my other companions' lives" bahahaha so true. The act 3 companion quests are fun but it is so hard not to want Minsc in the party because dude is pure comedy all the time. Didn't get to see much of Halsin and Minsc dialogue so that's my next playthrough, goody goody besties gate 3 run with Halsin and Minsc. I also have a mod to have unlimited party size so maybe I will have more friendos with us. Thats so funny the dialogue between Halsin and your bard hahaha
The defender flail that you can buy in the Githyanki Creche gives you a +1 to AC that for some reason transfers into Wildshape. The Owlbears AC is already 15 so the defender flail will bring it on par with Barkskin. Then you can wear the Hide Armor +2 and get a higher humanoid ac plus a bonus to initiative. And since you aren't using your concentration slot on Barkskin you can cast a concentration spell before wildshaping if you want.
@@JasonDunna Halsin's actually quite good. He ALWAYS has unique versions of Call Lightning, Misty Step, Thunderwave, and Healing Word available to him even if you change his class. They're a bit odd, since they'll always use his Wisdom and can't be upcasted, but that really doesn't matter much at all for Healing Word and Misty Step. Also, the Barkskin Armour is just not good at all and should be in RP tier. It DOESN'T apply to Wildshape, which would be literally the only thing it'd possibly be good for since 16 AC is low anyway. A caster with Mage Armour, a shield, and 12 Dex has 16 AC, and sure advantage on Con saves is fine and all, but if you're at 16 AC you should be positioned so you're not getting attacked that much anyway. Scale Mail +2 is available at level 7 from every trader, which is around when you'd be getting to Act 2, and that literally has 16 AC as the base value. Heck, Hide Armor +2 is available at level 5, and you get the same AC as Barkskin Armour with 14 Dex, with the +1 Dex check/save and Initiative boost on top of that.
The Dark Justiciar armor can also be found in the Silent Libray (Temple of Shar) when you solve the book riddle (same room where you find the Spear of Shar) so you don't have to be on an evil playhtrough or make Shadowheart a Dark Justiciar (she wore it for a while on my good-aligned playthrough). It's a rare variant tho with 1 less AC (16) and no 2-damage reduction so it's almost the same!
If I remember correctly, Ensnaring Cuirass doesn't really work because there is no actual "RESTRAINED" status and entangle is considered a different status.
Don't forget that you can add +3 instead of +2 AC from dexterity while wearing medium armor if you take EITHER the Medium Armor Master feat OR the Magic Initiate: Cleric feat. The Cleric feat providing that benefit is probably a bug, but it is one Larian has allowed to persist through multiple major patches. Also note that you should not take either of those feats if you have high dexterity and plan to use the Armor of Agility, Yuan-Ti Scale Mail, Sharpened Snare Cuirass, or Unwanted Masterwork Scalemail as the +3 AC from agility overrides the unlimited AC from agility from Exotic Material property.
@@temperspace You would need a 16 or more in dexterity for that +3 AC. There is no extra AC benefit to dexterity of 17, 18, 19, or 20, unless you ditch the medium armor for light armor or non-armor clothing.
Tragically the Barkskin Armor, unlike the spell or potion, in fact does not work in wildshape :/ Which seems like a huge missed opportunity. And it will keep your AC at 16 no matter what else you add - shields, helmets, etc. It's basically useless.
The only possible use I could think of is if you wanted to dump Dex since you wouldn't need it for AC, but even that's not a good idea since it'll also lower your initiative roll and dex saves.
I can tell you're using a mod for the camera angles. Are you also using a mod for all the items? If so would you mind sharing the name? I had one that broke after patch 5 I think because of the change in how the camp chest is set up now with the characters you leave at champ in a combined window. So now I have like 4 or 5 useless playthroughs that wont work anymore.
