I purchased the BIG collectors edition long before they announced this one...but I was excited they were selling something to sit on the shelf next to the original PC big box games. I was disappointed in how little the spine looked like a book spine...certainly compared to the original, sequel and Throne of Bhaal... Considering how much I love what Larian has done for the genre, I was thrilled they were given the opportunity to take on this legendary series...I would have asked for no one else (literally the opposite feeling I had when Bethesda acquired the Fallout license..."Anybody but them" - man their RPGs feel so generic) I got the big collectors for D:OS2, but never really got around to playing it. But, having spent over 100 hours on BG3, and having just beat it, I needed to take a break from it...but I couldn't get it out of my head...so, what a great opportunity to finally give D:OS2 the proper play through it deserves.
Yeah man I would have definitely gotten the big first collector's edition if it had the physical box and I agree! I am still a huge fan of that big box look. I had a similar comment on this edition that it would have been great if the spine looked more bookish for a similar reason. And totally agree that Larian is doing some great work these days. DOS2 was incredible man I think you wold love it given your enjoyment of Baldur's Gate 3. Thanks for watching!
@@forrestspellmanyeah, I felt compelled to comment, because you called out that issue with the spine, which I thought was practically the main justification for the existence of this product…which was why it was such a shock to me when I received it awhile ago. One other item I thought would have been awesome, because they had promised this with the first d:os, but ultimately had to drop the inclusion was a dice set…it would have been really cool to include just a d20, which feels like a no brainer considering how fundamental it is to D&D…and this game. I also wanted to say thanks for the video…I thought you brought some attention to unboxings that I dont normally see. Hope you are loving the game!
Thanks for the kind words man! Yeah having a blast so far. I think that a d20 might be the sickest content we could get for a CRPG game, what a great idea... hopefully we see a developer do something like that someday!
Thanks for sharing this. I just got mine today and don't intend to open it so this helps to let me know what I'm getting. I'll open it some day. I have the digital copy and have beaten the game in honor mode. Waiting on the upcoming patch when mods become available on the consoles for another playthrough. This game is as good (if not better) than DOS2. One of the best games ever.
