#baldursgate3 #speedrun Broke the game even more. Using rogueporting strats in Act 3 and new Ending sequence. Shoutouts to MrOgam for new strats like usual!
Changelog (from what I could tell) - Jahira is now spec’d into a Wizard to get the swap ability for the Rougeswap glitch. No longer has 3 feats, so Alert is dropped - Lae’zel is actually leveled to 4 in order to get Alert for Gith skip - Gortash netherstone changed from throwing him off the bridge to grabbing it from the dev area - Same with Orin’s netherstone - Enter the sewers from a different location since you skip fireworks for a different Orin spawn location - Using Orin to teleport to Bhaal’s Temple instead of going there manually - Keeping the Emperor as an ally - Using Jahira + jump to get to the brain instead of flying - Using perilous strikes to kill the netherbrain instead of fireworks Anything I missed?
I'm a bit confused on how perilous strikes works, doesn't that just heal you when you attack? Or is there something else causing it to stack damage too lol
@@nZifnab When you become a mindflayer, your illithid powers get bonuses. Perilous Stakes becomes Fierce Perilous Stakes, which makes attacks do an additional 15 damage per attack.
This is seriously incredible, but im confused on the mechanics behind murdering a character, stuffing them into a burning box, and that in turn displacing you in the game world outside of camp
@@nZifnab My understanding is that there's a location where the game stores things nearby that it may need to load in, like Gortash's Netherstone or a version of Orin who was pretending to be a reporter. Jaheira put Tav's body in Orin's pocket and then used a mage hand to attack Orin. Normally when you attack disguised Orin she runs away, back to the demiplane that also happens to have Gortash's Netherstone in it. But there's a wizard feature that lets you swap places with an ally. So he swaps Jaheira and dead Tav (who is in Orin's pocket), resulting in Jaheira appearing in the demiplane. This trick is used 3 times. Once to get Gortash's stone, once to get Orin's stone, and once to follow Orin when she moves to Bhaal's temple, since the temple is close to the boat.
Every time I think I've seen the wildest, funniest tricks BG3 speedrunners can come up with, y'all come up with mindbending new bullshit like rogueporting. Though I will miss the simpler days of kidnapping Gortash and hurling him off a bridge. Still, fantastic run. Can't wait to see what it looks like come GDQ time!
So this trick is called Rogueporting, discovered by MrOgam. Basically it's an area for storing in game assets that are part of the level that are to be loaded in for later. That's why certain entities exist, such as multiple Orins for the different characters Orin can become, along with the fairy from the pixie bell and other objects. What we do is reverse pickpocket our Tav into Orin's inventory, then cast Mage Hand to prepare to trigger Orin to teleport back to this storage room by shoving her. At the same time as the shove occurs, we cast Benign Transportation, a class level 6 Conjuration ability to swap places with our Tav who is in Orin's inventory to teleport to the storage area. This is a very tight timing to do, and there's a lot of variability so it's a difficult trick.
Rrally cool your run, I also would like to see a full run without exploitation or using bugs, should be interesting to see which class you are gonna choose
This is like the craziest speed run ive ever seen. Congrats man! I was wondering, since its any % could you do a speed run where you end with gale blowing up the brain? Im sure a master like you could bounce gale up to moonrise tower lickity split. (sorry i know nothing about speed runs im just a fan lol)
You should watch the ocrana of time speed runs. People be using second controllers to write in game code live due to an exploit in the games coding. It's nuts.
I'll probably do some additional videos. I already have my tutorial series, but I think doing explanations on each individual mechanic in depth would be a good idea.
This is possible by using 6 stacks of Fierce Perilous Stakes, a mind flayer ability that causes your character to deal an additional 15 damage per attack. With 6 stacks of level 3 Magic Missiles, you then deal 6 * 15 * 5 = 450 base damage, which is enough to defeat the netherbrain in one barrage.
Yes, infinite status is used there for the permanent stat buffs of feather fall, enhanced leap, enlarge, and invisibility, letting us defeat Ketheric without him noticing us. Technically if you are fast enough you can do it without infinite status I believe, but I haven't tested it thoroughly. You should be able to defeat phase 1 of Ketheric in time though with this strat on glitchless, but the second part would need to be done differently.
I have a question! Is it possible to finish honour mode with mods and get the golden dice or is it broken? I did a run a while back and finished honour mode, but for some reason in the main menu it was shown as "Tactician", but in my saves it was still "Honour" difficulty. Didnt get an achievement or the golden dice so idk if you cant use mods at all or if i need the achievement unlock mod for this to trigger it
I believe the game by default makes modded runs not count for achievements, so that's a part of it. I think there are mods to get around that though, so if you want to get the achievement while playing with mods you'll probably need that as well. For Honour mode, the save file is named with the difficulty of Tactician from the main menu by default, so don't worry about that.
@@ChronosReturns Ah i see! Thank you! So i will try it with the achievement unlocker and start that playthrough again to see the credits, maybe it'll work.
Was the benign teleport trick patched?, tav has been reversed pickpocketed on Orin but once the shove command is given to mage hand , I can’t switch over to jaheira, orin then starts dialog and then Tav portrait is completely gone from left. 😢
No, it should still work. It's a very difficult trick to do and I'll be making a tutorial for it to release while I'm at AGDQ. For switching over, you need to select Jaheira through the use of the character hotkeys (F1-F4). Clicking the character portrait doesn't switch characters while an action is queued. When Orin gets shoved, you also only have a few frames to be able to cast the spell at the right time as well. Too early and you won't teleport, too late, and Tav disappears. There's a bunch of other minor details that are used as well, so it'll be difficult to cover everything in one comment here.
@@ChronosReturns thanks, yeah I got it working with the f1 and timing it as the portrait vanishes. With all the clips of rougeporting I assumed it was as she vanished away rather than her transformation animation
I have a question why when this dude use a spell like jump stay forever and if i use it only work for 10 turn? Even if i’m not in a fight is cause i play on ps5?
i may have details wrong but if you kill a party member then res them in a new region as long as you dont enter turn based mode every spell that character casts lasts forever
Also how is the game looking so good and smooth? What settings / Graphics card is this dude using? My pc can handle the game well, but it stutters every now and then and the colours arent as light and smooth as here. They are darker
I have a pretty standard / midrange gaming PC: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon Graphics AMD Radeon RX 6600 (These are about equivalent to an RTX 2060) I run the game on Ultra settings so it does look really good. I actually had performance issues when running the game on Low settings for some odd reason compared to Ultra. Generally for most speedruns you should run on lower settings or whatever suits you best, but keep in mind I am also running on 60 FPS cap instead of a higher value so it does make it run a bit smoother.
@@ChronosReturns Huh, ok thanks! I have an Nvidida card and it also runs smoother with high settings but it struggles with 60 fps more than when i either unlock the fps or set it to 240. It sometimes struggles in fights or when i save and in Areas with a lot of stuff it still studders. I am still wondering, why the colours and everything look so different than in your playthrough🤔 hmm maybe some changes are still needed.
So inserting a dead body of one of your followers into a quest npc's inventory, shoving them with a mage hand and then using the swap places spell at the same time with that nps teleports you into some kind of dev room? How did you figure this out?
Could someone explain me what's happening in 2:45 , 3:25 , 5:00 , 17:00, 24:30 and why you turn on tactic time to put body on floor? I feel confused and would be great if someone could explain
This is due to a glitch called infinite status glitch which you can learn more about in my tutorial series here: ru-vid.com/group/PLHiKm2oEim6JkJlGYMd0Cm1YLZhkbUFXj
We use Fierce Perilous Stakes, which is an Illithid power as a Mindflayer that causes an additional 15 psychic points of damage per attack. We stack 6 of this buff, giving us 90 additional points of psychic damage per attack, and cast a level 3 magic missiles, which gives us 5 attacks. This deals 90*5 = 450 damage base damage, which is just enough to kill the netherbrain. Generally you can't do 6 of these buffs really quickly since it only lasts 3 turns, but because of infinite status, we are able to carry it over at the end.
So speedruns and casual playthroughs of difficult modes are slightly different skill sets. For speedruns, there's a lot more difficulty in execution and knowledge, while a standard honour mode run focuses more on adaptability and safety. Both are challenging to accomplish in their own ways so that's a big factor overall.
It's just a standard jump. While it's not an Owlbear's Crushing Flight, an enlarged bear jumping at the correct position will deal damage upon landing proportional to its weight.

Enhanced leap, high strength stat, and invisibility. He did a glitch to make the buffs not have a duration. Then there’s the box glitches that yeet you to the other end of the map. The nether stones are picked up by placing dead tav in Orin’s pocket, sending Orin away, and switching places with tav to wind up in the developer space.
this is crazy. did They patch this stuff? i couldn't jump over the wall on the nautoloid and putting the flaming box of Shart just.. broke the box. hmmmm
Nope, it's not patched. Check my tutorial series here for more info on the tricks: ru-vid.com/group/PLHiKm2oEim6JkJlGYMd0Cm1YLZhkbUFXj For the two things you described, Nautiloid skip is a pretty difficult trick, you need to be very precise and do a spam jump through in order for it to be successful. For the Shadowboxing skip, it is RNG reliant on getting the box's damage to the correct number. This is 1-3 damage on the first tick on a 1d4 roll, along with the total value on the second tick being 4 or more in order to break the box when it teleports.
They used a glitch to apply Fierce Perilous Stakes, an illithid power, to themselves 6 times. Each one deals 15 additional psychic damage, and apparently it adds up per stack to 90 extra damage per missile.

I believe some of these strats can be done on PS5, since some people have commented that they were able to do them, but I haven't tested them since I don't own a console version of the game.
Shadowbox glitch doesn’t seem possible on PS5, tried PS5 speed run last night for fun and it wouldn’t transfer her body to the container. Unless there’s some trick to it that i don’t know but other ppl complained about the same problem on controller
@ASmashingGentleman2 Yes, console is weird there's some stuff I see PC people do that I cant with a controller, but I will give it a try to see what is possible.
I have tried Chronos' speedrun tutorials on PS5 tactician. I can't do shadowboxing. Can get the wall glitches to work. Still stuck at the Oubliette membrane which is a bit annoying.
He explained it in a reply but basically that area is asset storage for things that may need to load in. By putting dead Tav in Orin’s pocket and shoving her with mage hand she runs away back to asset storage. With tight timing you can use benign teleport to switch places with dead Tav before he despawns and get into the asset room.
Не работающий метод. На этапе прыжка на корабле, уже были проблемы. Пыталась воспроизвести два часа - нет. С Шедоу, тоже, что бы передвинуть ящик, персонажу не нужно идти и ящик просто прыгает и все.
If you're using my tutorial it explains it here: ru-vid.com/group/PLHiKm2oEim6JkJlGYMd0Cm1YLZhkbUFXj It is very difficult to do those glitches, and a lot of people can help out in the Baldur's Gate 3 speedrun Discord.
I saw you made this comment on both videos, so I'll just clarify: 22:54 is the load removed time of the run. This takes out all the loading times of the run in order to make it more fair for evening out performance between different hardware, such as stronger and weaker PCs. If you want to know, the full RTA time is 25:46 with all the loads included. The video also has the introduction and outro which are of course not included in the timing.
This still works on current patch. Most likely you are failing it because you need to time the jump properly in the path as the brain is moving. You can see it in my tutorial series here: ru-vid.com/group/PLHiKm2oEim6JkJlGYMd0Cm1YLZhkbUFXj
