Hi all! Back with another build request! For this build, I was asked to build the Black Swordsman... uh, no, the other one, Kirito! SAO was one of the first anime I ever watched about 10 years ago, so it was fun to take trip down memory lane. This was also quite fun to build, as getting the fashion and weapons right really made this all come together! In addition, it was a great chance to show off a class in full that don't often showcase beyond a quick dip, that being the Fighter!

Just as a heads up for anyone who was looking for it the Render of Scrumptious Flesh is one of the items that is in the games code but does not show up anywhere in game without cheats or mods.

I love the dedication of wasting a perfectly good piece of mithral ore to make the adamantine longsword to emulate the green sword.

Adamant weapons get a really bad rap. Ignoring slash resistance is great, especially when you realize that it also does the same for the slashing weapon in your other hand as well.

This is really cool! I love the reasoning of this being how Kirito would build his own character if BG3 were a full-dive MMO with sword skills, and that he'd definitely be a min-maxer taking advantage of his knowledge and instincts as a beta tester to make good gear and story choices for his build. It would've tempted me to take 2 levels of divination wizard to represent the metagame/programmer deus ex machina stuff he pulls off sometimes, but just like the intelligence, wisdom, and (apparently) charisma he has as a character it wouldn't necessarily be represented in his character build. In order to fully represent Kirito in dialog you just have to become him by save scumming (cheating), lol, and I think that's beautiful.

I do want to point out that commander's strike Kind of works like switching in SAO. It's a mechanic they use in the first season to switch agro and do damage. It's a very interesting pick, but still great video I can't wait to see your next build!

Think I'm just going to do an SAO playthrough from watching this. An Asuna build would be great. I think her as bard would work great and have duelist perogative as I only ever recall her with a single weapon. GAUNTLETS OF SURGING ACCURACY could be quite good on this build too! Just adds more damage to the first turn of extra attacks and with a bard that would be 3 short rests per long rest. Also, thinking elegant studded leather armour would be a good end game one for 'Kirito' and evasive boots. I'm so glad to see you add the healing factor. That spoof episode comes to mind 😂

Love SOA ! Actually looking forward to trying this. It sounds cool to play a "real" character in a game like BG3, even better if you can make multiple matching chars for your party. For instance Link + Zelda :D

Oh this is a well done one, love the choice of the adamantite sword for his second blade its a good match. I watched the first two seasons of SAO, the first arc of both I preffered but I wouldn't say the series has the best writing. So much so that I think the Abridged version is both funnier and better written, and much more authentic to gaming culture. For me I loved Heathcliff, I always love the sword and board look, that unstoppable defense. Maybe you could do him sometime, so you have both sides of the coin as it where. Some sort of fighter paladin maybe? Heathcliff has that divine defense thing going on. Still very much looking forward to your Moradin build, Dwarves never get enough love.

I'd love to see you do a witcher build. Something that incorporates bombs, oils, and signs. I'd imagine a fighter/ wizard dip. Regardless, I love your videos and would like to see your take. Also I'd love to see you do combat show cases of your builds

I would go 4 Rogue, 5 Paladin for some dual smites and 3 Fighter for action surge. Saw a build that used 2 daggers and they did insane damage😂 You also get to choose champion (i think it was that one), which grants you better crit rolls Never played Warlock but it seems to be really good with those builds as well

I'm working on this build now. But I went Great Weapon until level four then respec w/ Withers for Dual Wield and take the Dual Wield Feat. I'm only level 5 at this time, but it's already solid.

Yeah this was awesome to watch you put this together. Really cool to see how close you can get to Aincrad/Alfheim Kirito. Also was uploading this on the same day the SAO servers go up in the series intentional? It probably was right lol.

I really want to like duel wielding melee weapons in this game, but I think not being able to attack with both weapons simultaneously with an action really ruins the fun. Outside of niche scenarios and very specific setups it feels weird being a duel wielder but only attacking with my main weapon 90% of the time and just using my 1 or maybe 2 bonus actions for the second attack is really awkward and lame IMO. Sucks cause thematically I like duel wielding almost as much as 2 handing.

Abriged had it pretty close. Holy warrior, dual-wielding possibly a longsword/shortsword/dagger combo for throwing, and maybe some teleporting. (If i see a vid on this, i may actually cry.)

2 things... 1. GREAT IDEA! i'm looking for fantasy build ideas for my next playthrous. i'm planing to do Vegeta or Naruto. if you continue, i will be here for seeing 2. maybe a simple thing, but how do you play the prologue with a complete build? there is a sort of ng+ ?

If you are on pc with mods you can transmog the shortsword with longswords and get dex build going with the str aesthetic :3

Or you could just take a dip in monk, and all non two-handed weapons will use your dex. But I didn't want to go that route as I wanted all the Fighter stuff and with the items we can get we don't actually need to level STR at all.

I have seen Vox Machina but since Grog is originally a Tabletop character I don't just want to copy someone else's build. I mean it would pretty much just be a Barbarian anyway right?

@@HoboZone He is but it would be neat to see your own personal build on it. Maybe Barbarian with a splash of Fighter or Ranger. Maybe seeing what items you would use for the build. Regardless, I enjoy all your BG3 content and can’t wait to see more of it!

Swords bard mixed in would be helpful too. Teleportation and double strikes. Can do duel wield there. Use double hand cross bow just for utility. Once in fighter, do the defense. Critical bonus. Gloves of dex. Give strength and focus on charisma. Maybe make astarion bite someone 👀 for a special potion (he will do it at medium like). Can have max strength without the plus one. Could give that to someone else or put it into charisma for an 18. Maybe get an alert fear. That’s how I would do it. Other gear anything to boost crit and damage. Maybe play around with two levels of spore Druid if you want. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was trying to use the Broodmothers Revenge with the act1 mace that heals you from the gnoll but the effect didn't trigger. Is it a bug or what is going on there? Does it actually work with the helm and ring?

tbh, Kirito is not really that smart, just intuitive about video games. but he's suuuper not good at talking to people. I would have put Wis at 10, and dropped Int and Cha down for a more accurate depiction. otherwise, solid build. im just nitpicking

Phalur Aluve and Larethian's Wrath come to mind. They're both finesse weapons also, as you could focus on DEX instead if you want.

Nice video. Long time i not see kirito haha. So yeah totally a pure dual wield fighter and the look is great 👍. Only one criticism... where is his legal wife Asuna ? 😂 You can't build kirito without his legal wife...or one waifu of his harem like Leafa, Sinon, Alice ou Eugeo lol 😂

Yeah I did consider them for this build, but that fact you need to go to a late game area and beat a boss is a turn off for a lot of people. No doubt they're a strong option.
