Baldur's Gate 3 - Part 20 

This shadowheart situation is why I highly recommend anyone doing a 4 player game, to get the mod the allows more than 4 party members, even just so you can bring them along for required stuff

The Grun'x Bunch vs. an undead grandpa with the ultimate Bad Dragon tentacle toy! Who will win? Who will die? How squigged out will the party be?

Onto the act 2 conclusion! Well, the first half of it anyway. Quick tip for Connor. Noticed your inventory's getting a bit cluttered because of all the keys you've collected. There's an item you have called a keychain that basically acts as a bag / backpack specifically for keys, you can drag and drop all your keys onto that and it'll massively reduce the clutter. You never need to specifically go and interact with keys, if you or anyone interacts with a lock that this key goes to, the game'll just use the right key anyway. Anyways, spoilers relating to this episode below. Sooooo yeah, Shadowheart and the Nightsong. If you don't kill Balthazar earlier on, he actually shows up in the Shadowfel and you get a more detailed explanation about the whole situation with Dame Aylin and Ketheric's immortality, plus a boss fight with him. As the party no doubt picked up on, this is the "Shadowheart needs to be here for her character arc" moment. This is kinda where her story peaks, as aside of- like, a side-quest that ties up loose ends, she stops being relevant to the overall plot after this point. That's not me saying she's a bad character, far from it, just that she doesn't have any direct ties to the main plot anymore. So it sucks that she's gone, but you're not really missing as much compared to losing a different companion. But yeah, you'd need to have someone dip out and let the AI companion tag along to keep her in the story. For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure this is the only time this kinda thing happens. You already ran into Gale's by accident earlier on, but undid it thanks to reloading. This kinda thing does suck for full co-op runs, I get it. And party unlimit mods don't play well with multiplayer, if you think the tech issues were bad before, they get a lot worse when mods are involved. So be prepared for situations in act 3 where you might need to have someone dip and let a companion in. Especially if you're romancing them. Some of them will be very unhappy about getting sidelined in their own personal quest. This will become a problem in act 3 if you don't watch out for it. There's a specific situation where you're gonna need Jaheria along during a specific quest to avoid a messy outcome, if you know, you know, no spoilers for the Grunch Bunch. Hopefully Arcolf warns them about that one and is willing to step out for a few minutes and let Jaheria take his spot, because missing out on "that" would be a real shame.

Honestly act 3 is a completely different beast, from act1 and 2 cant wait to see you guys experience it.
