Thank you so much!! we are just a average couple who love to travel on a budget., Thank you for your lovely compliment, We appreciate the feedback and glad you enjoy them.
Feb 5 7.30pm NZ . Would like to meet you end Mar 24 . Definitely , got some small restaurants for you to try in majapahit street . From covid kiwi 2020-2022+3 months .chrisE
Hi Chris, We wont be in Bali in March 24 :< shame as we live in Oz and go over a few times a year, But if you keep in touch and if we end upin Bali at the same time. we can catch up , We would love too. Majapahit st is going in my black book :D Thanks for feedback.
The food culture in SE Asia is fantastic. It's hard to beat the local food courts for variety and value. It's the same here in Thailand. I use to frequent a local food court in Chiang Mai. Never disappointed and never paid more than AUD5 for a meal. That Legian Food Court looks amazing. Stayed in Legian a few times but never knew about that place. Now I do. Thank you Bec and Matt.
We love good value, with 5 AUD is on our budget, Eat local save cash. Glad you could find it of use, Thanks for feedback. Looking forward to heading to Chiang Mai in the future.
Yep happy’s on the beach is great, especially after sunset nice cool breeze. The two other warungs next to it are great also😋We went twice in a row and one night there was an acoustic guitarist playing 👍
Hi Bec and Matt. Thanks for another great video on the local eateries. On our last visit to Bali we ate out as a family at the Golden Spoon warung at Legian food court. Amongst other dishes, we ordered the beef rendang. The picture showed it being a large plate of beef and when it came out, it was 5 tiny thin slivers of beef. So disappointing! We also all felt a bit funny in the tummy later that night too. I think next time we will give Annie's a go based on your recommendation. Any chance you know if they properly refrigerate their meat at all? We try to eat at local warungs when we go but find many places don't seem to use refrigerators for meat storage. We've heard they generally buy their meat daily in the mornings and it sits out for the day and is only cooked when ordered.
Mmmmm have to say disappointing to hear that, Not surprising though as like anywhere is can be hit and miss. As to beef as a general rule we stay away as its expensive in Indonesia (chicken and pork are most consumed) we usually stay within that as a general , still disappointing to get such a small serve and have a negative experience, This why we started our videos , So people mainly have a good experience in Bali as there is nothing worse than being let down. Regarding Legian food court, I hear good things about 3 warungs (Annies, Chopstix88 and the British pub menu) As to meat and refrigerator , most likely in tourist areas there would be , I know more out in villages its like that buy fresh and eat that day , less likely in tourist areas but im sure it still does happen, Just gotta do much research as u can and keep your eyes and nose and always be scouting and trust your instinct. Saying that i read a google review saying Annies owner was talking to a customer and pointing out which warung is ok to eat at and which one dont eat due to hygenie issues ( Refrigeration could be a possibilty) ill be sure to check this out more on our next adventure. Like everything in Bali can be a hit and miss, We just try and point people to a hit in our videos but like everywhere now and again can be a miss. (Hopefully our recommendations will be a hit for your next time.) Thanks for the feedback.
Geez you cant even get a big breakfast in Perth for less then $20, 😮 We went to the Local, It was very busy, but food was good, but i didnt get a rose 😂😂
Good to hear, Maybe we were there right time for the rose, That's why Bali is attractable to us , the culture and lower prices makes it a affordable holiday, Saying that prices have increased alot over last 5 years or so. Thanks for feedback.
Are you talking about the Bella vista coffee shop and juice bar opposite the Ybar on Padma utara? If so then we sure will, We will short update here and then a video will come out later with a full review, We love getting some tips on places to try. Looking forward to it. Thanks for feedback.
@emmalinamclachlan8354Hi Emma, We just been to this place for a Brekkie, Can say it was lovely and the quality was excellent, Not the cheapest but still a good place for quality food. Will be a video upcoming in the future. Thanks for recommendation.
Hey guys, love your videos. Question, if a group eats at Legian food court and orders from a variety of warungs, do they have communal tables the group can sit at.
Thank you for your kind words, Great question and to be honest not 100% sure , Likely to be no communal tables , as you can see each warung have there own tables. You could ask if they will allow it, Maybe choose warung most people will order from. Sorry can not be more of help. Summary i would say no not possible but might cater if you ask. Thanks for feedback.
Hi Bec and Matt, thanks for all your videos. Lots of wonderful information, we have written down lots of places to visit when we go in June. So excited to take my husband and teenagers for their first visit. Love how you add the map and location. Do you have an instagram or Facebook page? Thank you again for your wonderful videos and content.
Thankyou for your kind words. Hopefully we can help with the videos. Your going in a lovely time of the year. At the moment we don't use any other platforms due to us both work full-time in Brisbane. Due to the unexpected interest in our channel, we are contemplating adding another platform in near future , So stay tuned. Thanks again for your kind words.
@BecMattAdventures we love your content. Our teenagers even went back to re watch your video with the togs! After being unsuccessful finding the right pair at Mt Gravatt and Carindale they have decided to try and find some on Bali. My answer was watch Bec and Matt 🫶 My husband is most excited to visit the night market in Denpasar. We are currently looking at purchasing a GoPro or DJI to take over with us to video for personal use only, any recommendations welcome, I used up way too much storage on my phone last visit with videos. Definitely not interested in vlogging, leave that to the professionals like yourself 😁
My apology, Somehow this comment slipped through without us seeing it, Bec can say these togs are great and are great quality, They wont be disappointed and the price is right. As to camera, Recommend DJI over go pro, If you can afford it go Action 4 over 3, 4 is good at night the 3 is not it struggles but day time both are similar. we use 256GB SD cards and give about 6 Hrs of footage. Sorry for late reply. Tell hubby the night markets are not for the feint hearted, Can smell and be intimidating for some, Matt loves them but im not a fan. Would recommend Made (our driver or your own driver they will know the market.) So sorry for late reply. Be sure to let us know what went well and not so well in Bali, Be sure to ask us anything if your not sure. Thanks for feedback.
@BecMattAdventures don't be sorry for the late reply. We discovered today new video from yourselves 😊 public holiday spent watching! We have booked our driver for the market, he did say 'why would you want to visit there' 😆 Thank you for the camera information, I will let my husband know. We haven't decided which way to go yet, he better decide quick as we have 40 days til I introduce them to my happy place 🫶 I did say to my husband he has explored all over Bali the lounge room, he doesn't need to visit! Thanks for your reply and the content that you share. Keep up the great work. 👍
Well what can I say, we tried it just before covid and I loved it. On the other hand Matt nearly had a heart attack on the bill. He enjoyed the meal but told me that he had to ring the bank to raise our credit limit. Was the dearest brekky we had in Bali. I would go back but Matt being the cheapskate won't. Might have to sneak off and indulge myself haha. Thanks for feedback.
I’m not sure what you had but I go back every visit 2 or 3 times each visit and have Singapore Seafood Laksa $10.50 AUD , it’s a big serve and absolutely delicious, and I think the price is perfect for that meal. Well worth dining there 👍
90% of restaurants in Bali are terrible! the local warungs are ok, but you'd be lucky to find a decent restaurant. My last experience - I ordered tacos 🌮 and I got served something that looked like dog food. However, I am certain that the restaurants in this video are good.
Your mostly correct we believe, what we found , what is popular on social media isn't that great , We believe we have found some great little warungs that are well priced and good food. Overall we rate Thai and Malaysian food overall better but you can still find some good ones in Bali but there is a lot of average ones like you said. Thanks for feedback.
Sorry to hear, Eaten there many times no issues. We always recommend sanitize your hands before you touch any food with your hands. Saying that we was 1 rime in Bali , Both shared a meal at airport and was sick 4 hrs later :< , not great experience but hopefully your all well now. Thanks for feedback.
We are with you on this, Popular on social media, in Main tourist spot of Melasti st. So much better to be found but hey everyone has a choice, Thats why we showcase many options and compare. Thanks for feedback Jarrod, We appreciate it.
Truly there is nothing exciting about Bali to see . The food is the only thing u could enjoy . Apart from that the place is pretty boring . Been there many times an seen nothing to be excited about
Bali is definitely not for everyone, For us we really enjoy Bali for 3 main reasons, 1 The people 2 Good value 3 The food, We understand that some wont like it,, For us from Australia we do find its easy as we have a direct flight so the convenience of getting there weighs up too. We appreciate the feedback.
